Post by georgexu94 »

Here is the wonderful and delicious tail tale about the xocomels ( :P Pun intended):
If there are any typos or other errors, kinda reply here or PM me. It would be greatly appreciated. ^.^ Other comments are also welcome.
Every autumn around late October, there is always excitement in the Keep. Every mage is preparing for the Hallow's Eve festivities. The young magi were either going for trick-or-treating, casting spells as pranks, or chasing the xocomels that come only at this time of year.

Everytime, a young mage goes in to the kitchens. He is not fond of joining the other magi. He just enjoys the warmth of the kitchens, sniffing the wonderful scents of cinnamon, sugar, spices, and chocolate that fills the air; and listening to the tales being told by the cooking magi. The cooking magi were knowledgeable about various, especially about cooking and baking, which is their specialty. Sometimes the boy would even help by assisting them as they tell their stories.

One Hallow's Eve, the young mage was sitting with an elderly mage in the kitchen, eating a xocomel. The elderly woman smiled at him and asked him what tale he wanted to hear this time. The boy replied that any will do. She then looked around her and whispered to him, "Well, have you ever wondered where do the xocomels come from?", to which the boy replied that he has ever since wondered about that. The elderly mage continued, "Well, nobody much knows. However, a legend has been passed among very few magi. Will you promise me that you won't tell anyone?". The boy promised and the woman began.

"Long time ago, there was an evil mage, by the name of Murock. He filled the Keep with terror. He was also greedy, and if there was anything he was fond of, it was candies. He would ransack houses for sweets, and every Hallow's Eve, during trick-or-treating, he would steal the candies from the young magi. The only thing he was scared of, however, was newts. He just can't stand lizards and newts. One Hallow's Eve, there was a certain mage, who thought that he should stop Murock from causing harm. He knew that Murock dislikes newts, and so he ask the cooking magi of the Keep to collect all the chocolates and caramels, and to make them into the form of newts and salamanders. When asked, he would simply reply that he had a plan to keep Murock from stealing candies and chocolates. When all was ready, he ordered out that they be distributed to the young magi. There was excitement in the Keep as everyone was sharing the beautiful and delicious chocolates. Then Murock came and demanded for the candies and chocolates. When the children handed him the chocolates, he screamed at the sight. The chocolates were moving and then it crawled on his arm. He shoot spells and all but they were flooding the Keep. There was amazement in the Keep as people watched that the chocolate newts were alive. He then fled the Keep, never to be seen again.

The name of the magi was lost but his legacy still remains. Upto this very day, xocomels surround the Keep during Hallow's Eve. However, whoever placed the enchantments now, remains unknown. Others say it is just selected magi who wants to keep the spirit of the season alive, but take note that a lot had tried to cast the spell that keeps these xocomels alive, and all of them have failed."
