A lone fox sighed her tail, twice the length of a cat's and thrice the thickness of an average fox, curled twice around her form as she tried to keep warm in the harsh winter. She was quite young, not yet old enough to hunt, but with her only companion being her elder brother, who was Tice the size of a wolf, she was out of luck, he had gotten a mate recently and was expecting to have kits come spring so she had to learn her own abilities quickly.

"Papa said if I want to learn to hunt using the magic within, I had to find my core....but I don't even know what my core would be!" The small kit whined to herself in her little cave, it was one she'd dug from anow old rabbit's den she'd found. She got up and fluffed her pure white fur against the cold before going out into the snow to search for scraps, or maybe a weak little mouse who forgot to scavenge enough food, it was late winter after all.

It had only been a couple hours since she'd left her den, the long tailed fox sighing as she sniffed around, her little black nose working overtime in an attempt to get a scent. 'Wait...that smells like!' She suddenly crouches before jumping into the air, she'd seen her father do this once before from afar, before stabbing a good three for the of her body into the tiny burrow of a sleeping vole. She shook her head as the impact had made her a little dizzy but she did have a lovely taste in her mouth! She did it, she caught her first meal! But...she was stuck in the dirt and snow, much to her bemusement.

"Help! Please!" She yelped from the snow and wiggled, only half of her tail was visible and her hind paws were just barely peaking through it, making an odd white lump in the ground. 'If it snows no one will find me in time!' She realized and started wiggling even more and letting out keen high pitched yelps and barks, hoping someone would hear her.

After 15 minutes, that felt like days, she hears the crunch of paws on the snow and a raspy sigh. "Come on Firisa, how'd ya manage this?" The male's voice range out before a dark crimson glow engulfed her and pulled her out of the ground with a pop. "Brother!" She exclaimed happily as before her eyes was a huge fox with crimson fur and equally crimson eyes and black fire like marking next to each eye. "I caught a vole! But I think I dove in too hard...." Firisa grumbled and she was gently placed upon the ground, the blood from her recent kill being locked up by her small tongue.

"What did I do wrong Verix?" She asks shaking the excess snow from her pelt. Verix chuckles as he helps her up to take them back to her den. "You put too much balance in that tail of yours. You should of dove in paw first, tail low." He explained to her chagrin. "That's what I di-oof!" She grunted, her tail had gotten caught in a stray root again. "Oh Firisa .."

The older fox smirks at his younger sister, who was pouting, before helping her untangle her tail. "Come on, Hirith decided to let ya stay with us, as long as ya continue your training." He finally says as they make a sharp turn away from Firisa's den. "Really?" The long tailed fox asks, her fur seeming to bristle with barely contained joy before pouncing onto her big brother, her eyes bright with joy.

'Excitable as ever little Firis'.' Verix snickers to himself as he is wrapped in the little kit's tail from neck to chest. "Remember, you have to keep training to find your ability." He adds, only relieving a little purr from the white mass on top of him.

Yeah I'll stop it here since I might turn this thing into a proper story or cartoon some day.
