Chapter One: The Past of the Two Packs

"A long time ago, there were two brothers. They battled each other all the time. It was fine, until they went too far and accidentally injured an elder. Their father, one of the greatest pack leaders in the past, was very angry at this and made them stay in their dens for a day straight. The older brother thought that this was unfair, and the younger brother was unhappy. After a moon, the alpha died. Now who would get the alpha rank? Well, the oldest son or daughter of the alpha would in those days. The younger brother was angry and jealous at this, and made everything go wrong. The huntings, the meetings, everything. He basically tricked half of the pack to believing that he was a better alpha. The older brother thought of this as wrong, so he ordered the wolves who hadn't been tricked to fight the ones who had. This was a day called the Day That Lightning Split for many reasons. The main one was that the pack, called ThunderStorm Pack, split into two packs and was never put back together again. Now there are two packs, the Sun Pack and the Moon Pack. They are both believed to be cursed by the father's rage and the brothers' jealousy." an old wolf with light gray fur and yellow-green eyes said.

A black-and-white she-wolf with golden eyes laughed at this. She had heard the same story millions of times, but when elders mentioned the curse, she couldn't help but laugh. There WAS no curse! "Again with that, Diano?" she asked.

"It's not as simple as that, Alanalia" Diano said, looking at his former apprentice with serious eyes.

A brown she-wolf with white forepaws and dark green eyes was sitting next to Diano. She was expecting pups, and knew they were coming soon. But, it looked like this Snow Fall wouldn't go away so easily. Rain Fall was still far away. Sun Fall was even farther. She didn't know how her pups were going to survive.
"Hey! Feather, snap out of it!" Alanalia shouted at her face.

Feather shook her head fast, then looked at her sister. Who would have though that her mate was the Alpha and her sister was the Beta? The most highest ranks any wolf could hope for. Feather knew she had a perfect life.

"So anyway-"Alanalia started, but got interrupted by a call for her.

"Ali, Aliii!" a russet wolf panickly shouted out, running towards the three.

Alanalia's face changed to a look of disapproval and she flicked her tail in annoyance. She didn't like wolves calling her something that wasn't her name.

Feather snickered and Alanalia glared at her. She gave her sister a cute look.

Alanalia rolled her eyes, then looked at the wolf who had stopped in front of her. "This had better be a real emergency, Kasunro" she growled.

"It is, ITS IS!" Kasunro said.

"THIRD TIME, KASUNRO" Alanalia said,glaring at him.

Kasunro held his head and whined, pawing the ground.

Alanalia nodded to him. She was Beta, a much higher rank than Kasunro, who had just been made a Healer apprentice. Healers had low ranks, but they were respected if they had the rank for a long time. At least, that's what ran through Alanalia's mind. The Alpha didn't like that very much, but accepted it as long as the she-wolf made no trouble.

"Just say what you need to, Kasunro" Feather said, smiling at the apprentice.

"Moon Pack is attacking! There's lot's of trouble! Please help!" Kasunro said, his head so low it was almost touching the ground.

"Get up, Kasunro. Tell Ashenon that more wolves shall be coming" Diano said.

Kasunro nodded, then ran off with a small whimper.

"You can't give him orders!" Alanalia snapped at her former mentor and turned to face him.

"That is no way to talk to your elders, Beta or not" Diano said sternly.

"Humph! Whatever" Alanalia said, flicking her tail at Diano's face as she left to find the other Fighters.
Diano scoffed behind her and said something, but she ignored it. It was time to fight.

So, how do you guys like it? Oh,and Snow Fall just means Winter, and I guess you can figure out what the other ones are. Atumn(or Fall) is Leaf Fall, so it's all pretty easy. Snow's going to be in the third chapter, just to say. Must cover the battle in the second.

Chapter Two: Rage of the Alpha

"We there yet?" a Fighter named Makia asked.

"Don't act like a pup and be patient!" Alanalia angrily said, glancing at the dark gray she-wolf as she walked. She had heard from Noroma that the fight had started because a wolf from Moon Pack had crossed the border. Alanalia couldn't help but smile.

"What's wrong with you?" someone growled.

Alanalia turned her head, now looking angry. She looked at the only apprentice in the group. Fallenstar. He had proved that he was as strong as a senior Fighter, larger than most apprentices.

"This is not a time to be happy, it is a time to fight!" the young apprentice said, running a few steps ahead of Alanalia so he could glare right at her with her seeing him. His light silver fur seemed to glow as he stopped in the sunlight, and he still glared at her.

Alanalia passed him with her tail angrily raised. "I know that, Fallenstar. Now hurry up"

"You can't tell me what to do! You aren't Ashenon. You'll NEVER be like him!" Fallenstar growled.

"Fallenstar, stop bothering the Beta" a cream-colored wolf softly said.

"Rina, your apprentice needs to learn to behave better" Alanalia said, ignoring Fallenstar's words.

Rina nodded. "I know. He shall work on it with me" she said in her soft voice.

Fallenstar followed his mentor as she passed him, not saying anything. He didn't like the Beta, didn't know why Ashenon had chosen HER. It would have been better to stick with the old tradition, now long gone.

Feather's first pup would have been a much better Alpha than Alanalia could ever be.

"You okay, Fallenstar?" a wolf asked.

Fallenstar turned his head to look at his friend, who was walking right beside him. " I'm fine, Zephyr"

Zephyr smiled at him, then picked up his pace to walk beside Alanalia.

Alanalia suddenly stopped, her tail raised. All of the other wolves also stopped, wondering what was happening.

"Listen" Alanalia whispered. The wolves all quietly listened, and heard the sounds of a fight. Angry growls and snarls could be made out.

"The battle is this loud? Oh my" Rina said, her ears straight up.

Alanalia then looked past the large tree she had been standing at. The fight was downhill, but would still take a few minutes to get to.

"Humph. I'm not surprised. After that forbidden love, who knows what's right anymore?" an ash-colored wolf said.

"Kayen, it's just a story" Alanalia said, rolling her eyes.

"Well I think not. The packs have been worse and worse with each other as time passed. Just a wolf crossing over our border has made this fight break out" Kayen said, looking serious.

"So what? It's natural" Alanalia said.

"Natrual? This? It can't be" Makia spoke up, swishing her tail.

"Ugh, I can't take all this talk anymore. Sun Pack will lose before we get down there if this keeps up!" Alanalia said, then ran towards the fight.

All of the wolves at the top of the hill glanced at each other, then ran after their Beta.

Fallenstar was fast and reached the bottom just as Alanalia did. He looked around. The fight sounded louder here, and looked even worse than from the top.

Alanalia spotted a gray wolf and leaped onto him. She bit the wolf on the ear, then swiped her claws across his face.

All of the other wolves had leaped into the battle and were fighting now.

Fallenstar was taking on two wolves. He guessed that they were idiots who thought that an apprentice would be easy to take on. But, he wasn't very easy to defeat. Usually, apprentices could be told apart from wolves that had passed the apprentice rank. These wolves had made a very wrong choice, though.

Fallenstar leaped over the wolves, using both their heads to jump higher in the process. Instead of just running away, Fallenstar turned toward the two wolves.

One of the wolves slashed at him.

Fallenstar easily ducked that, then quickly caught the wolf's paw in his jaws.

The wolf looked a little startled, staring at Fallenstar with a look of horror.

Fallenstar smirked, then threw the wolf. He had taken on a wolf higher than his own rank and he had won.
The other wolf, a she-wolf, glanced at the other wolf, who was laying on the ground, then turned and ran off.

Fallenstar smirked again, looking smug. He had proved everyone who said he couldn't fight wrong.

Suddenly, a loud howl split all the noise in the battle.

Fallenstar quickly turned to see the Alpha of Moon Pack looking furious. Her name was Maisha, and she was a she-wolf with a beautiful kind of goldenish-brown fur. But her anger was feared by even the Sun Pack, that was for sure.

Every wolf grew silent, as if they were all holding their breath.

"WHO DID THIS!?" Maisha shouted out, her yellow-green eyes blazing, looking a little like fire. She was looking at a wolf. A wolf with pure black fur, but that fur was almost hidden by all of the blood.

It was Ashenon. And he was dead.

Yeah,I know.It doesn't have much action,and the fighting is short.Ugh,sorry!But the third chapter will be better!Way better,I hope.Finally,the birth of Snow!The reason I did two chapters that were nothing about Snow was because I thought it would be confusing if I didn't.Yep,that's why.Yeah,me and my fear.

I am not trying to be rude, but I made my corrections in red. I have not yet read the 2nd chapter but I am more then exited to! And please don't hate me for this!



I really have to say, that was all I could see! And that is not a lot at all! I really like this a loty!!!!

Chapter Three: Fallenstar's Promise

"WHAT!?" Feather shouted out, looking furious. She now looked twice her size, which was pretty big.
Fallenstar and Alanalia were standing in front of her, both of them not even moving. All of the wolves, except Fallenstar and Alanalia, had made up excuses so that they didn't have to go and tell Feather that Ashenon had died in the battle. The real reason was that Feather had a loud voice just like her father, and her father was pretty scary.

Even Fallenstar couldn't blame those wolves. He was scared of Feather sometimes, he just didn't show it. Did that make him even more scared? Well, maybe he was a little afraid of rejection.

"I told you, Ashenon died. I'm sorry, Feather. I know that you loved him alot" Alanalia said in her "just a little bit" annoyed voice. She was always annoyed. Everything made her annoyed. Alanalia wanted perfection, and perfection only. She also wanted power, and she was getting a lot of it today. Finally, she would be Alpha. She would take what was hers today.

"WHO KILLED HIM!? WHO!?" Feather shouted, still looking angry. This news had shocked her very much and she didn't feel very good. An Alpha dying in a fight against the packs was unthinkable! Yet, it had happened today. And Feather wanted to murder every wolf in Moon Pack now. Why? Why her mate? Without even thinking, Feather burst into tears. She dug her claws into the dirt, looking so very sad.

Alanalia tried not to roll her eyes, but she did anyway. "Well, I must prepare for the ceremony tonight" she said, then turned around and walked away. She even had a Beta in mind.

Fallenstar put his tail down low, then walked away. That was the sign that he was leaving Feather alone to grieve by herself in a respectful way.

Feather felt horrible as she cried, cursing many things. She cursed the battle, the wolf that had stepped over the border, and Moon Pack. Moon Pack especially. One of those wolves had broken a rule and killed an Alpha in battle. Usually, Alphas would either die because of old age, be fatally injured in an accident, or be killed by an animal or lone wolf. But this time, an Alpha had died in the fight. Her mate had died.

Feather felt a burn of hatred in her heart for everyone. She stood up and walked into her den.

Fallenstar had been watching. Usually, females could take it. But Feather, she was pretty spoiled. Her dad had been the Alpha when she was little. He had passed away now, but both Feather and Alanalia didn't seem to mind. That meant that Alanalia was spoiled too. And she was about to become Alpha today. Fallenstar shook his head with disbelief. How horrible.

Suddenly, a cry of pain came from Feather's den.

Fallenstar jumped up. He knew that cry from anywhere. Pups in a Snow Fall like THIS!? He had to go and get a Healer! Fallenstar ran towards the place where the Healers' dens were.

"Young one, where are you going?" Diano asked, walking out of his den.

"Feather's pups are coming!" Fallenstar told Diano, looking a little panicked.

Noroma walked out of her den, her gray-and-cream fur shining in the sunlight. Her steps were light as her gaze was wise. "Feather's pups, you say? Lead the way" she said in her soft voice.

Fallenstar nodded, then quickly turned and ran back to Feather's den.

Many wolves were talking quietly about it now, most of them following the three.

Fallenstar, Diano, and Noroma entered the den, very soon joined by Alanalia.

Alanalia looked as annoyed as ever when she came in, her black-and-white tail slowly swishing. Well, there weren't many things white on her now. Her tail, muzzle, and sides had been covered with ash to prepare for the ceremony.

Fallenstar glanced at Alanalia, then turned back to watch Noroma work. Most Healers didn't look very great, but Noroma sure did. Her fur looked almost like Alanalia's ash-covered fur, but much more shinier. The only bad thing was that Noroma was missing an ear. That was why she was a Healer. A lone wolf had torn it out, and that made her more unattractive. But most wolves looked at personality, especially Fallenstar. He understood a lot more than others. It was like he was more of everything. Yet, no one gave him much of a chance to show what he could do. Apprentices were never given a chance, like Noroma. The second her ear was ripped out, the Alpha at that time had made her rank a Healer. Fallenstar wasn't given many chances either. That battle had been the biggest thing he had done as a Fighter.

Feather let out another cry, her eyes shut tight.

"Breathe, Feather. Breathe and push. Think of your pups" Noroma said in a gentle voice, looking at the herbs some wolves had brought.

"Ashenon" Feather said through clenched teeth.

Noroma's eyes clouded at that. Feather's mate would have been a big help, she knew. It was so horrible that Feather had to go through this without her mate at her side. Noroma gave some herbs to Feather. She ate them without another sound.

Alanalia sat down and sighed. She didn't feel like cheering or any of that stupid stuff. She just wanted to get out of here and become Alpha already.

Then, Feaqther's eyes snapped open and she let out another cry.

As Noroma looked at Feather's first pup, she smiled. Then, all the others came in a few minutes after that. Noroma's smile quickly turned expressionless. She had helped Feather lick the pups clean, but she felt that something was wrong now. It was too cold. What if the pups didn't survive? What then?

Feather gently pushed the pups close to her with her tail. She smiled, giving them each a name by herself with no sound made.

Alanalia found herself to be surprisingly curious about the names. " What did you name them, Feather?"

"Well, I named the brown one Zenon, the black one Kamara, the white one with black markings Stellar, and the white one... Well, I don't know yet" Feather replied, smiling at the small pups.

"He looks weak" Alanalia sourly said, looking at the white one.

Fallenstar glared at Alanalia, then thought. " Well, what about Snow? He looks like snow, so that's a good name" he said, thinking. Alanalia was right, the white pup did look a little smaller than the others. But maybe he could help it. So, Fallenstar closed his eyes and made a promise. He promised to be the father these pups would never have, to help them through everything. He would help these pups no matter what.

"It is" Feather said. For a second, she had forgotten about her mate's death,but she just wanted to enjoy this moment. Well, for as long as she could. Before everything got even worse.

Thank you all!And yeah,I'm not a whiz at punctuation.I'm actually really bad at it.I'm glad that it turned out okay.Finally,Snow shall be born!And,I saw a mistake in my second chapter.I put "danhill" instead of "downhill". WOOOOW!I failed on that!Yep,I rushed on the second chapter.Maybe I should just take it slow on the next chapters.And I just have to warn you all that there'll be alot of deaths and bad things.I don't even know if there will be some love or not.I have alot of great things planned,but they all aren't very happy.So,if you don't like stuff like that,just quit reading.Oh,and it's okay,cloudstar.I need some critical things.At least no one can say that the chapters are too short!

I'm sorry,everyone who's reading this!This is just a bump.I plan to make more of my story soon,but I'd like more people to read it,if that isn't too selfish.I really don't have much time to make a next chapter,but I'll promise one on Saturday.I'd like to know what I can do to improve it,I really would.
