The Sylphs-a WIP

Post by TymyWymy »

I got bored, drew something and tried weaving a story out of it. Let's see how it goes.

There's a commotion in the Keep's vast dining area when you arrive for dinner that night. Walking in,you notice an assortment of magi -wise seniors and bumbling newcomers are clustered around someone in a corner, and some of the mages are whispering excitedly to their friends, some with skeptical looks and some with wild grins on their faces. You can't really tell what's going on,as mages are arguing loudly and running around the place, waving classmates over and ignoring the annoyed yells or older mages telling them to watch out. Your interest is piqued, and you decide dinner can probably wait.

As you walk towards the crowd near the corner,a pair of juniors worm their way out and run off, talking quickly. You barely catch their words as they run pass. "Secret forest..mysterious things...wingless Sylphs!" The last words confuse you. Since when where there wild and wingless Sylphs? You shake your head as the crowd begins to disperse, revealing the speaker. Someone runs up to him,and you notice the shed Donec scales on their clothes. Ah,it's Lee,the teenager who spends maybe too much time with the Donecs at Lake Lakira. She loves writing and listening to all sorts of tales and you're sure she'd probably believe this one,no matter how strange it would seem to others.

The speaker turns out to be Metis,a gangling brown-haired boy who enjoys travelling and has a notorious tendency for skipping classes. It's a wonder why he's still here. He notices Lee and stands up,giving her a quick hug before grabbing a nearby chair for her with a smile.Metis notices you then, and smiles."Another one to hear my story? Well, the more the merrier!" He gestures with one of his long fingers and an chair comes speeding over. There's a small Winged Cat on it,and it meows at you before hopping off.
