Frau's Fanfiction

This will be all over the place, although, well... Can't be helped. :derr: Most should be drabble-to-ficlet length, and I will post each individually. Feel free to comment, critique or offer ideas  And I think that's all. Bleh.

Jason scowled darkly at the eagle barring the way to Ravenclaw Tower, and consequentially his brother. A string of curses escaped from under his breath, but did not go unnoticed by the knocker. It pulled back its beak into a grin, no mean feat for an inanimate object. But this inanimate object was also stubborn. The Gryffindor fourth-year closed his eyes and leaned against the wooden door, ridges digging into his back. "Pass."

"You've been standing out there for quite a long time, you know."

"Shut up, Goldie." He frowned at his adoptive brother. Grayson was wearing a blue shirt and sweatpants, with a scarf in Hufflepuff colors around his neck. 'Goldie' fit him better than ever. "I didn't think you could go back to being a fashion disaster so quickly."

Dick pouted like a six-year old, which somehow did not look out of place on the sixteen-year-old's face. It vanished just as quickly as he looped his arm around Jason's torso in an unwanted gesture of brotherly affection. "Hey!" Jason shoved him off, causing Dick to fall down. The ridiculous man made a face up at him. For his own sanity, he hoped the source of his current misery would just leave. No such luck. Dick was already on his feet, looking at the knocker expectantly.

"I'm the part of a bird that's not in the sky, I can swim in the ocean and remain dry?" It droned out, casting a sideways glance at Jason before rolling its eyes. Jason buried his face in his hands, as he waited for Dick to inevitably embarrass himself.

"It's a shadow." A clear voice rang out. Not Grayson's.

"Tim!" Said man latched onto the newcomer with a death grip, tackling him backwards into the entrance. Tim just laughed, not even making a move to push the older man off. "I was worried about you!" Dick clung to the front of his shirt, like a human-sized blue-and-yellow octopus.

Jason could visualise Tim's patience bar slowly running low, so he made a token effort to free him. "Sharing is caring, you know." A snort, eyeroll, two hands releasing the blue fabric. "Fine." Dick huffed out. "See you around, Tim!" One final hair ruffle, and the hyperactive teen was gone.

"So, uh, Tim." Damn, where had his earlier confidence gone to? Jason blamed Dick.

The addressed boy looked up, blinking owlishly. "Yes?"

Nice breaking it, hero. Jason shoved his hands into his pockets, and tried to feign nonchalance. "Dick is being a dick."

"If that's all you came down to say, then I worry for you." Tim was smirking now, that bastard. Jason groaned. Better get this off his chest now. "Look, you're overworking yourself. I haven't seen you around dinnertime for a full week."

"Coming from the one person who doesn't actually work." Tim cut him off, but his smile was of genuine happiness. He knew Jason had seen it, and in the next moment, one side pinched into a smirk. "So you just want to keep an eye on me, huh."

Ignoring Tim's swipe at him, Jason reached over and hoisted his brother into the air (ignoring the muffled "put me down!") "Look, you're practically skin and bones." One large hand clamped down onto the struggling boy's wrist as if to prove his point, and Jason started running towards the Great Hall. Baby bird could always chew him out for this later.

A/N: I wrote this ages ago. Oh my god *winces at OOC Jason*

Ghosts : Ace Attorney : Canon Divergence

Post by Pok »

Sometimes Pearl Fey saw the ghosts. Sometimes they saw her.

Cousin Maya and Mr Nick, who had been present at the other's death. Cousin Mia, haunting the library where Mr Armando holed himself up. Sometimes Pearl forgot which was the ghost even. A silver haired male slumped in the defendant's chair, or behind the prosecutor's bench, or talking with Mr Nick like old friends.

And the girl in red tailing Mr Nick. Too lively, too young, to have had her life torn from her. Pearl would have protested if not for the painful emptiness of loss sitting in her stomach.
