The Crazy Keep Adventures Of TheAmazingMe

Post by TheAmazingMe »

So here it is, I got a request to share some of my work and I listened. I have decided to keep a collection of short stories here. The stories often will be based off of real events but occasionally a story will come from my imagination. There will be of course always be a dramatic affect added to it.
Now, without farther ado I give you the first, intro story. And a few things you should know.

First of all, my magi's name in these stories will be Taj (Tay-jay)
She will almost always be wearing very colourful clothing and usually will have her two loyal dire wolves with her.

Once we get farther into the stories and what not there will be several creatures that are constantly mentioned in most adventures. You can find them in this spoiler, more will constantly be added.
Spoiler

This is Laney, she is a very loyal Direwolf pet that can almost always be found at Taj's heels. She was Taj's second creature.

This is Dai, he is a very sweet little guy who will always nibble your cloak. He loves horse cookies. Dai has been with Taj since he was a foal. He was her first creature and will always be in Taj's keep. Though not expensive or extremely beautiful, Dai will always be Taj's favourite, just don't tell the other creatures that
Well here is the opening story.
Spoiler
Taj walked along a well trodden dirt road. She had been travelling for three days and although many would have found it lonely she didn't.
It was a warm summer day and a light breeze drifted through the air, causing the ends of Dai's long mane and tail to swing back and forth. Several bags where tied over the minicorns back. Taj wanted to make it to her new home before sunset, she was new, coming from a distant city. She patted Dai on the neck and led them onwards.
The Minicorn had been with Taj for long as he had lived, Dai had been too small when he was born and very few people believed he would live past three months. Taj had been warned by her grandpa who owned the Minicorn farm not to get attached to the little guy so naturally Taj spent every moment she could with him. She kept him covered in blankets and fed him regularly. Maybe it was his strong will or the love Taj showed him, either way he pulled through and was now going on five years old.
There was mountains int the distance.
The road eventually came to a stream and Taj stopped to get a drink. She knelt down ad scooped up water and an egg. Wait, an egg?
She slowly turned the egg around, inspecting it. It was a lovely blue colour.
Carefully she wrapped it in some cloths then set it in a bag on Dai's back, he nickered in reply.
The pair then continued onwards along the bank of the river, it wouldn't be much farther now.
Two days before this beautiful one it had poured rain and sleet. Both Taj ad Dai had been shaking and had stopped in at an inn. They had stayed the night after Taj had a bit too much ale, she could swear leaves where falling everywhere.
Taj smiled at little sign at the front of a turnoff from the river, her smile faded a bit when the sign fell off the stake it was attached too.
Taj leaned over and picked up the sign flipping it over.

Keep #156
Taj Herman
New Owner

Taj Looked down the road and sighed. The house, one beautiful stood a crumbling pile of stones luckily the Keep itself was in better condition. The building was standing sturdy but Taj didn't know what would be inside of the old small castle.
"Well," she sighed patting Dai, "this is our new start."
This was the prologue, the first story will be posted eventually. I have many ideas. The next one will be about how Taj gets Laney and Pandora her Direwolf pups.
That story should be posted later tonight.

The Crazy Lady
Spoiler
Taj wandered through the market place, Dai like always was with her. A fair sized bag of gold coins was weighing down her pocket.
She had to buy lots of stuff to try fix up the house. Luckily the keep wasn't too bad but there was a lot of rotten boards, Dai had to stay in the porch last night because there wasn't a pen that looked safe enough and they were both very tired the house was completely rotten.
Taj made it to a vendor selling boards, she went with the oak ones which although expensive would be super nice for the floor of the house. For in the keep the pine would be good and would smell nice. The vendor, who was a younger man was very kind and helped to secure the boards to Dai's back. Taj smiled at him and tipped him well then began to walk off towards the road to lead back home. Her attention however was captured by an array of very brightly coloured rolls of fabric. Knowing she probably shouldn't Taj wondered over to the stall and smiled kindly at the old lady sitting behind it.
Taj ran a finger over the multi coloured roll of silk. She looked up at the lady then at Dai. "Do you like it?" She asked.
Dai nickered in reply.
"How much are you asking for this roll?" Taj asked the old lady. A grin split the ladies mouth revealing rotted and black teeth. Taj tried not to wince.
"Three thousand gold pieces," the old lady replied, her voice sounded like sand paper.
"Thats a little ridiculous dint you think?" Taj said a bit frustrated.
"I can't drop it sweetheart so you best just take your dirty little pony and move on."
Taj's face turned bright red at the insult of Dai. She snatched her coin bag off the counter and turned with her nose up in the air. She wasn't a mean person but this lady was rude and ridiculous with her prices.
Dai snorted a warning but Taj was too mad and tripped over a crate on the ground. She fell on her face and was found staring at two premature Direwolf pups in the crate, there was a brown one and an albino one. They raised tired little heads to look at her. They both were shaking and curled up next to each other.
Taj could count every one of their ribs.
She stood up furious and glared at the old lady.
"How much are you selling the pups for?" Taj demanded.
"The brown one is 5k and the white one is 10k," the lady replied not really caring.
"That is ridiculous!" Taj screamed at her, "Especially in this condition, they look like they are dying. There is no way they are worth half that amount!"
Taj turned and stormed off, Dai trotted behind her swishing his tail back and forth.
A small group of people had gathered by the stall to watch the events but the old lady was quickly clearing them out with her glares and snarky remarks.
Taj glared at the ground as she marched down the road. She kicked at loose rocks on the road, her old leather boots sending puffs of dust up in the air.
Her light blue cloak bellowed out behind her. She was very mad, the lack of sleep probably didn't help. There had been a scuttling sound in the roof the night before, Taj prayed it wasn't rats, she wasn't very fond of rats.
Reaching home Taj stormed through the front door of the little farm house and into the kitchen, apparently she stomped too hard because her foot went through the floor. Taj turned bright red and screamed in frustration.
She then felt a little better so she wiggled her foot out of the hole and unloaded Dai, tying him to the railing of the porch for now.
Taj somehow managed to find a hammer and crowbar in a box of tools and went inside. She tore up the floor boards in the kitchen, she took her anger out on the rotten boards, often splitting them in half. Eventually though she had removed all the boards from the kitchen area. She could have used a bit of magic but the physical labour made her feel better.
It was later now so Taj went out side and found the best looking pen available. She nailed up a few boards to make it safe then let Dai go, the pony trotted around checking everything out. Taj left him to his business and returned to the house.
She fell in an exhausted heap on the creaky old bed of the one room that looked inhabitable.
**********
She couldn't have been asleep for more than five hours when she woke up from the scratching in the roof. Taj let out a dramatic groan and rolled out of bed.
She wandered to the kitchen and tripped over the pile of boards, yep today was already going fantastic.
Moaning in frustration and still half asleep she rolled un-gracefully to her feet.
Lighting a candle on the table she busied herself with making a cup of coffee, it was really early but she knew she wouldn't be able to fall asleep again as when the scratching starts it doesn't stop.
Taj glanced out the window over the sink to check on Dai and found him sleeping on the ground, she watched her little pony slowly breath in and out as the sun peeked over the hills behind him she smiled in knowing there was some good things here.
She turned to her coffee and poured herself a mug.
Inhaling the rich scent she wandered non chalantly to the table and sat down. Taking a sip of the coffee she started to calm down and her eye lids started to slip shut until a loud knock at the door interrupted her.
She sat up startled and knocked over her cup of coffee which scalded one of her hands. She grabbed a towel and as she walked to the door she dried herself best as possible.
It was pretty late out and and the stars twinkled over head with orange illuminating the sky on the horizon.
Taj opened the door, curious to see who it was. She was shocked to see it was the man from the lumber shop. She tried to smile but she was exhausted and too surprised.
"What are you doing here this early in the morning?" Taj asked, rubbing her eyes and yawning. She definitely didn't look very good considering the small amount of sleep she had and the fact that she hadn't brushed her hair.
"I saw what happened in the market yesterday and after you left I thought it was about time someone put that old witch in her place."
Taj looked up at him slightly worried, "what did you do?"
"I told you." The man sighed, I put her in her place and about time too."
Taj raised an eyebrow. "And you came here to tell me this at three in the morning?"
"Well," he said scratching his head, "it was my only time off, I can't stay long. However it wasn't the only reason I came here hoping to find you awake, I also had to give you these."
He leaned over and picked a bundle off the ground that Taj hadn't noticed.
She slowly took it from him. It squirmed a bit and Taj almost dropped it and screamed. She pulled back the top of the blanket and saw two little faces peeking out at her.
"You..." Taj started.
"Shouldn't have," the man finished for her, "but I did and they are yours and the crazy lady won't be bugging anyone anymore."
With that he turned and walked out the door.
"Wait!" Taj called, "I don't even know your name!"
The man grinned. "My name is Jack,"
With that he was gone and Taj was left standing in the door way with two Direwolf pups.
