He took his breath sharply. Blood dripped like a broken faucet, through his fingers. His vision started to tunnel. “Why…” he said quietly. The man collapsed into a pool of blood that was not entirely his...

He awoke inside of the medical ward. He did not want to open his eyes. The fear of being dead left him paralyzed. So he waited in the room for thirty minutes. His eyes squeezed shut and fist clenched. It could not wait any longer, as a nurse started to talk to him. “Sir, are you awake?” He opened his eyes slowly. He was terrified. In a split second, his life was gone through his fingers.
"Eh…" He moaned as he had begun to sit up. The pain seemed to be present throughout his body. "I…"

Eternity was the night. Each and every sound fed into his fear. Seven days left awake. Whatever sleep that seemed to bless him, was destroyed by his own wretched dreams. His mind screamed for salvation only to be met with it stabbing itself with a bright and shiny dagger.
He steadied himself in a chair. One of its legs was shorter. It, for lack of sleep or fear in general, unnerved him. “Doctor, I can’t go on…”

"I must silence them!" Twelve days left awake. Screeching, screaming, and yelling all in his ears. A light flickered from the next room. "Who’s there?" he wondered. He ran to grab a knife from the kitchen. It’s blade was bright in the moon light. For a moment his mind was occupied by its glimmer. Then he heard some muffled sounds. The epiphany brought him back to the dark kitchen. He was terrified and wanted to get a sneak attack upon the intruder. Along the way, the house’s seemed to have changed from the original look and the décor was completely different. "They… They must have changed my house!" His breath was ragged and he tripped scraping a cut on his arm. The blood trailed down it. "Now or never." He whispered under his breath. The knife glimmered. He ran out of a corner and stabbed the man. The knife plunged into his right shoulder.
"Why…" The man whispered as he fell into a pool of blood that was not entirely his.
