Just a quick oneshot. I may make this the first chapter of a longer story in the future.

The ending feels a bit... abrupt, so to say.

If this story were an introduction to a novel, it would be a great lead-in to the main story.

Hmmm...How about it? I would like to see this story continue and answer a lot of questions the ending leaves open: For instance, why did the Storm Steed happen to show up when it did?

Who sent the creature to rescue Alder just in time?

How was Alder able to mount the Storm Steed with his ankles tied together and his arms tied behind his back? Even assuming the Steed gave him the strength to get up and mount, there is nothing in the story that indicates Alder's bonds were released.

If the Steed did come "just because", why would it decide to take Alder to the Keep?
