I've started reading the weak student and I wanted to write a story about a keep and everything!

Prologue- Viper's Flame

On a warm spring day near the Inn at the keep, water rushed swiftly down the stream far from all over the world. Students lined up behind a man whering green robes with a pattern of starts on the hood. It was Thane, a master magi.
"Students, the only way that it is possible for you to stay here is by catching your first creature," Thane spoke allowed not turning around to face the students. "Desseray, If you may?"
"It's my honour master Thane," a young girl said from the line up of students. Desseray rushed up towards the stream. Strings of her pure black hair ran with the wind as she ran. Desseray studies the stream. "One egg, one egg," She muttered under her breath.
Desseray took a step closer to the stream as she bent down to reach into the stream. Her hand stirring in the stream for a long moment but eventually, her hand slowly came out with a oval shaped light pink egg. Desseray made a great smile. She turned toward the students. They clapped quickly as if they wanted to move it along.
"Desseray, I congragulate you for completeing your task. You are now a magi in training," Thane spoke as he faced Desseray. His blonde hair slid out from the hood of his robes as he shook hands with Desseray. "Now, Viper. It is your turn to receive your first egg now."
Viper gulped. He had only received a C in his offense and defense magic. If he failed to retreive an egg he would never be able to raise creatures of all kinds.
"Viper!" Thane yelled to him. "Please, try to capture an egg now," Thane said as he calmed down.
Viper walked slowly toward the stream. He closed his eyes as he approached. "I can do this," Viper whispered to himself. He opened his eyes. His hand gently tapping the surface of the stream and sinking in. Viper felt around. He was losing time! If he didn't find one within ten seconds he would fail.
Viper looked at the stream carefully. He noticed a red shining stone in the middle. He pulled his hand out and walked carefully to the middle of the stream. He reached in once again and Viper felt something as soon as he put his hand in. He grabbed the object and lifted his hand. The egg was warm and a light red. Flames flickered at the top of the egg.
Viper turned toward the students. They clapped quickly once again.
Thane frowned. "It may be hard to raise a Phoenix Viper. They must be kept in fire every night for five hours. Are you sure this is the egg you want?"
Viper smiled. He wasn't going to let any kind of difficulty get in his way of being a magi. "This is my Pheonix, and there is no way I will let it down!" Viper yelled with a grin. Viper studdies the egg. It was getting hotter and hotter by the second. Viper's hand felt like it was burning. Viper ignored the pain. "My Phoenix."

Chapter one- The New Students
Viper was still in shock. He was a magi now, at least a magi in training. Viper carried his phoenix egg tightly to his chest as he walked down a hall in the keep.
Viper stumbled upon a door that read "203." Viper reached into his pocket to grab a card that showed him what room number he was.
"Room 203," Viper mumbled to himself. He felt sudden movements from his egg.
Viper opened the door slowly to enter is room. The room had paintings of creatures Viper had never seen before. There was a bunk bed and a single bed for him and his roomates to sleep.
There was two boys in the room, one on the top bunk and the other on the single bed.
Great, I get the worst bed in the room, bottom bunk Viper thought to himself. He carried his luggage to the bunk. Once he had reached the bed he sat down. "So, what are your names?" Viper asked looking directly to the boy on the single bed.
The boy on the single bed turned toward Viper. He made a smile. "Hi, I am Ritchie! Your Viper right?" he answered. "You were the one who got the phoenix egg,"
Viper looked down at his egg. He loosened his grip to show. "Yeah. It was pretty close though," Viper said rubbing his egg.
"I'm Beck," a voice said from above Viper. Viper stood up to see Beck who was on the top bunk. He had short dark brown hair. His eyes were pale with blue which stared down into a book.
"Hi Beck, I'm Viper," Viper responded but Beck said nothing. There was a silence for a moment. "So, what egg did you guys catch?" Viper asked as he turned toward Ritchie who he expected an answer from.
Ritchie opened his sack and reached in. His hands came out with a dark red wing sticking out. It seemed like a very dark green color. "It's a Manticore. A very powerful creature and a great partner for me," Ritchie said as he held it up high.
Viper felt a little jealous. A manticore, I should have looked for one of those Viper thought to himself. Viper turned toward Beck.
Beck looked up. He rolled his eyes as he grabbed an egg that was hidden on the other side of him. It was blue with a scale sticking from the top. "A Dragon Turtle" Beck said and then throwing it back to where it was before.
Viper turned to Ritchie. Ritchie shrugged. "Are you guys going to go meet up with the other new students? They are probably already outside of the keep waiting for Thane," Ritchie stated as he hopped off his bed and headed for the door.
"I'm coming" Viper replied. "Let me grab my egg. Are you going to come Beck?"
Beck said nothing and didn't even look up from his book. Viper rolled his eyes and followed Ritchie out the door. Viper hadn't noticed how blonde Ritchie's hair was in the light of there room but he did notice in the hallway.
"So Ritchie, do you know why Beck was ignoring us?" Viper asked Ritchie as they walked.
Ritchie slowed down. "Viper, when I first entered our room I found beck on the top bunk reading that same book so I only know as much as you do."
Viper was quiet for a moment. Had Ritchie just snapped at him? There was a long silence that made Viper feel uncomfortiable.
Luckily they both walked to the outside of the keep and met the other students. There were four girls and two other boys. They all held an egg and they were all different.
Viper reconized one of the girls. It was the girl that Thane had called Desseray. Desseray noticed Viper staring at her and she walked over. "Hi, uhm, your Viper, right?" Desseray asked.
Viper was in a daze but soon snapped out. "What, oh uh, yes I'm Viper," Viper said stupidly. He looked down at his feet.
Desseray leaned in a little. "Desseray" she said to him and he put his haid up. Her hand was held out for him to shake. He reached out and shook her hand.
"There is someone I want you to meet," Ritchie said as he dragged Viper away from Desseray. Ritchie led Viper to ome of the other two boys. "Viper this is Max."
The boy named Max looked down at Viper. He was at least a foot taller than Viper! "Hey Viper cool egg you got there," Max said. His skin was darker than the other students and he had long black hair.
"Nice to meet you Max. What kind of egg did you-" Viper started but was interupted by Thane who slowly walked out of the front door and was assisted by two other magis.
"Young students," Thane started. "It is now time for you to start your taining in your magic."
