The Lair

Tucked away in a corner, hidden in a crumbling brick alley, is a strange shop. A small window reveals little, as most of it is covered in dirt. The door is equally mysterious, made of glass but covered in a strange sheen. An old-fashioned, weathered wooden sign hangs from a rusty wire; you can barely make out the words "The Lair", scrawled in green paint. A bell tinkers as you enter the shop, curious as to what lies within.

There's no one there, just a few cages containing creatures wreathed in shadows, some pots, and other miscellaneous items. On the counter is a small card with some writing on it, in green ink.

Hm. Well.

There's a notebook on the counter with some information on it, but not much. You decide to take a better look around. It seems that the shop is divided into several sections.

One section has numerous pots and potion-jars of sorts. One pot has a sign in it that says "Garden Center".

Another section contains a number of white mice in several large cages, as well as some food, mouse-catching equipment and other related items. A gnawed-on sign in one of the cages denotes the section as a "Mousiporium". That's not a word.

Behind the counter are several shelves crammed with scrolls and other strange things. Stuck to the side of the endmost shelf is a yellowed label that reads "Knick-knacks and Magical Doohickery". Um. You're not sure if those are words either.

The rest of the shop seems empty.

Disclaimers/Notes/Warnings/Rules:

Please pay only in gold or specified creatures.

Be polite.

Send the trade immediately after ordering. All the prices are set and listed, so there's no wishy-washyness about that.

For any references you provide, please also ensure that you have the proper permissions. If you don't, I will probably err on the side of caution and reject your request.

Feel free to use my art off-site.
If you do so, please credit me as RheaRatite on DeviantArt.
(Of course, this only applies to art that is provided free or has been purchased by you.)

Order Form

I've been having trouble keeping track of things, so from now on, you must include an order form in your post showing what you're buying/doing, how much it will cost, the cost calculation, and a link to the trade. I know that's a lot, so here's an example:

Order Form
Actions/Items: Breeding my pair of mice and buying 5 pieces of cheese
Total Cost: 2000 gold
Cost Calculation: 1000 + 5(200)
Trade Link: #tradelink

Code: Select all

Actions/Items:
Total Cost:
Cost Calculation:
Payment Calculation:
Trade Link:

Creature Values:

I will accept these creatures at these price values for payment:

(I'm not particularly picky about heritage, which is why I have the prices set for higher-gen Spiders, Octopi, etc.)

The Notebook

The notebook has some information on the creatures and costs for doing certain things.

Image

~Actions~

It costs 1000g to breed a pair of mice.
It costs 5000g to breed a pair of plants.

It's free to go hunting for mice, though you have better success with cheese and box traps (or jars, if you really feel so inclined).

You have the option to feed mice to your shrive-weeds, should you feel so inclined to do so.

If you want to attempt additional odd actions, feel free. Who knows what'll happen?

The Garden Center

There's a number of pots scattered around, some empty, some containing dirt. There are also some odd-looking watering cans.

Shrive-Weed
Image
It's a pot. With dirt in it.
Given time, water, and sunlight, a strange creature (?) will blossom from this container.
500g; specify name if wanted.

Color Potions

What end do you pour the potion out of?
Colored potions, for if you want differently-colored plants. Mix and match for odd effects.
1000g

Growth Potion

Ooh, it's sparkly! But what end do you pour the potion out of?
This potion is filled with super-potent growth magics and nutrients.

The Mousiporium

There are several cages filled with albino mice, evidently feeders for those with snakes and other carnivorous pets. There's also some food for the mice, as well as various other items.

Feeder
Image
D'aww, a little albino mouse. It's only a feeder, but you can keep it as a pet as well.
100g; specify name and gender, if wanted.

Piece of Cheese
Image
If you want to befriend a wild mouse, you'll definitely need this. It has other uses as well.
200g

Box Trap
Image
This trap looks flimsy, but it'll still catch mice. Better yet, you don't need to replace it!
2000g

In the corner, you see a few jars on top of a pile of broken glass.

Knick-knacks and Magical Doohickery

Here, you can find all sorts of strange items. Currently there seems to be an overflow of paper...

The Empty Corner

Sometimes, people end up with too many mice or weeds, or just don't want a particular one, or something's happened in their life that's made them too busy to take care of their pets. Oftentimes they end up back in The Lair, stuck into one of the empty corners.

The Wild

It's not really the wild, persay, but it's wild enough. Ramshackle buildings and run-down tunnels make perfect havens for wild mice, and they've proliferated in the relative abundance of the city.
