1: Are you vegetarian or vegan?
No, I am omnivorous.
2: If yes WHY did you decide to become vegetarian/vegan.
---
3:If you are, how long have you been vegetarian/vegan.
---
4: Would you ever consider going back to eating meat (if vegan/vegetarian)
Would you ever consider becoming vegan/vegetarian (if a meat eater)
Not really, unless I had to for medical purposes. I find my diet to have a nice variety and to keep me at a pretty stable energy level.
5: Do you feel healthier/less healthy since going vegetarian/vegan (if vegetarian/vegan)
---
6: How are your energy levels/iron levels etc (i guess both could answer this)
They are quite normal. I don't really feel tired during the day and from what I know, my iron levels are ok.
7: Do you take a vitamin suppliment. (i guess both could answer that too)
I take a daily multivitamin, and that's about it.

I don't really have much to say on the whole vegan thing, but I would never give up my milk and cheese unless I really had to. I can understand why people go veg though.

A few questions you may want to answer:

1: Are you vegetarian or vegan?
No.

2: If yes WHY did you decide to become vegetarian/vegan. n/a

3:If you are, how long have you been vegetarian/vegan. n/a

4:Would you ever consider becoming vegan/vegetarian (if a meat eater)
Nope unless it became absolutely needed. I personally see no point on going the vegetarian/vegan path unless you have a medical condition. I do know that there are conditions out there that make it to where a person can't have meat. But I don't judge (or try not too..i am not perfect) if someone is..to each their own just don't try and force me to convert. I have seen the videos like "Meet your Meat." While I do agree that it is horrible, and think that there could be a better way to do it, still doesn't change my mind. I know people who raise cattle and they are sold for food and they are pasture raised/fed. I have been surround by them before cause they thought I had treats lol.
I have been told that we are not supposed to eat meat..and I have tried to find good articles on the debate but I can't seem to find credible ones. But I look at it as..humans have been omnivorous for thousands of years and we have been fine. I look at Native Americans as an example, they hunted buffalo,deer, etc. They couldn't live off nuts,fruits,vegetables, alone. Even more so in winter. I also have a religious part but I don't want to get in trouble for adding that here. But that is my thought/opinion.

5: Do you feel healthier/less healthy since going vegetarian/vegan (if vegetarian/vegan) n/a

6: How are your energy levels/iron levels etc.: Energy I am fine. My Iron is fine as well

7: Do you take a vitamin supplement. I do have a Vitamin D problem so I do take Vitamin D supplements.

1: Are you vegetarian?
I do (seldom) eat fish and honey, both requires the killing of animals. Otherwise my eating habits are vegetarian.

2: If yes WHY did you decide to become vegetarian.
We never ate much meat at home because it's expensive, so I'm not used to huge amounts of meat. One day I noticed that I'd simply forgotten to eat meat for a very long time and it stayed that way.

3:If you are, how long have you been vegetarian.
I'm not really sure. 7 years?

4: Would you ever consider going back to eating meat (if vegan/vegetarian)
I find nothing wrong with eating meat IF it is from an organic farm that treats animals well. I don't dislike the taste and the smell is quite nice. I just prefer other food and see no reason (for me personally) to eat meat.

5: Do you feel healthier/less healthy since going vegetarian/vegan (if vegetarian/vegan)
I can't tell a difference (but I never ate a lot of meat to begin with).

6: How are your energy levels/iron levels etc (i guess both could answer this)
See 5.

7: Do you take a vitamin suppliment. (i guess both could answer that too)
No. I eat a lot of fruit.

1: Are you vegetarian or vegan? No, but meat plays an extremely limited part in my diet.

2: If yes WHY did you decide to become vegetarian/vegan. For moral reasons ... I cannot rationalize eating meat, morally, no matter how long I think about it. I am Buddhist and a lifelong animal lover and I cannot think of any context in which it is okay to process millions of animals industrially into meat products. The other route, raising an animal in a healthy manner, like a pet, and then killing it for food, seems just as bad. With the huge amount of available vegetarian products available in some countries there is just no excuse for continuing to eat meat except laziness. However, I live in Japan where vegetarianism is seriously discouraged and socially unacceptable, there are almost no vegetarian products here like you'd see in the US. So because my budget is very limited and I live on a single income in an expensive city, I can't buy overseas products like bulgur or rice protein or soy cheese, and I eat a small amount of meat per week.

3:If you are, how long have you been vegetarian/vegan. My current system of food has slowly been reducing meat for about 10 years.

4: Would you ever consider going back to eating meat (if vegan/vegetarian)
Would you ever consider becoming vegan/vegetarian (if a meat eater) Yes, if I lived in a country where food was much cheaper. You would not believe the price of a can of beans or bag of rice in this country, it is obscene.

5: Do you feel healthier/less healthy since going vegetarian/vegan (if vegetarian/vegan) I haven't noticed a particular change in that aspect, but I am definitely much healthier since I left the US.

6: How are your energy levels/iron levels etc (i guess both could answer this) Good, but I attribute that to vitamins and exercise.

7: Do you take a vitamin suppliment. (i guess both could answer that too) I take Vitamin D and Turmeric daily.

Are you vegetarian or vegan?
Neither.

Would you ever consider becoming vegan/vegetarian?
No. I love meat and don't feel like I need or want to give it up. Red meat, poultry, and fish play a huge role in my diet and I don't really consider it a meal unless it's meat-based. So no, I could and would never go vegan/vegetarian (not that I have a problem with people who do, of course -- it's a personal choice).

How are your energy levels/iron levels, etc?
I don't know about my iron levels, but I am lethargic a lot of the time -- that has more to do with the fact that I rarely if ever eat remotely enough calories during the day, coupled with the fact that I never get enough sleep.

Do you take a vitamin supplement?
I used to, but don't anymore.

1: Are you vegetarian or vegan?
I actually used to be vegetarian! I became a meat eater in May 2014. I liked being vegetarian to be honest, it was like a challenge for me, because I wanted to try meat, but then again I felt bad for the animals. I'll explain why.
Because I felt sort of out of place. Also, I had nothing to pack my lunch with as well, and all the school lunches were just meat.. but I would want to be vegetarian again.

2: If yes WHY did you decide to become vegetarian/vegan.
I was born & raised vegetarian. My parents are vegetarian still.

3:If you are, how long have you been vegetarian/vegan.
Well, as long as I have lived up to May 2014.

4: Would you ever consider going back to eating meat (if vegan/vegetarian)
Would you ever consider becoming vegan/vegetarian (if a meat eater)
I would go back to vegetarian for sure! Maybe after I get sick of meat and I've had enough experiences with it, I definitely would! It's a great way to save animals.

5: Do you feel healthier/less healthy since going vegetarian/vegan (if vegetarian/vegan)
I haven't been eating meat long enough to compare, so I really don't know (:

6: How are your energy levels/iron levels etc (i guess both could answer this)
No clue. ;D

7: Do you take a vitamin suppliment. (i guess both could answer that too)
Nope. ;D Should I.. o.o?

I don't really like the insinuation that I'm lazy for eating meat just because vegetarian things are available in the US. I respect your choice to not eat meat, so I'd like my choice to eat meat respected as well without implying that I'm lazy for doing so. x:

I eat meat because I like meat. It contains nutrients I need and honestly it tastes delicious. A lot of vegetarian food tastes terrible to me or is a texture issue - tomatoes, for example, I will eat *only* if the slimy innards are gone (the innards make me gag x.x).
I can't tolerate a lot of extreme flavor (bitterness, for example, of varying degrees is common to a lot of vegetables that also happen to be healthy, and I taste bitterness very strongly and avoid it like the plague). I avoid unchilled fruit because it's almost always too sweet otherwise, and I avoid fruits that are too tart (like strawberries and lemons). I don't like it when certain foods or flavors are mixed together (like salt on watermelon) - I'm a little strange in that I don't like one food to be touching the other food. As a result of these reasons I avoid almost all strictly ethnic food.

Granted, I'm not eating meat all the time, nor do I usually eat tons of it at a time (unless it's salmon or chicken, I could eat those all the time) but it's most certainly not lazy to eat it.

Incidentally, all that is why I fend for myself foodwise. XD I'm a challenge to feed, but since I already know what I like it's easier if I do it myself. |D

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: Are you vegetarian or vegan?
Nope.
4: Would you ever consider becoming vegan/vegetarian (if a meat eater)?
Nope, but I could /cut back/ on meat. The expense of meat already limits how often I can eat it anyway.
I have considered the Mediterranean diet, though for health purposes, not dieting purposes (heart disease runs in my family in particular). It promotes fish and allows for small amounts of other meats, but it contains enough things I already like and will eat for it to work for me.
6: How are your energy levels/iron levels etc?
My energy is low, but that's very likely from the hypothyroidism.
I've never had my iron levels checked or anything like it checked. The only significant labwork I had was three years ago, and its purpose was to draw blood to test my TSH levels (thyroid-stimulating hormone), not other things. The other things it tested for were within normal range.
I need to get more bloodwork done though, not only to test iron, but also cholesterol and stuff. u: And a complete thyroid panel to determine what's actually low.
7: Do you take a vitamin supplument?
No but I probably should, given my limited range of what I consider edibles. u:
(I've removed answers that do not apply to me)
1: Are you vegetarian or vegan?
No, but I would be if my health permitted. As it is, I try to avoid pork because pigs are too similar to humans (in both their intelligence and their meat. Yes, I know that sounds weird) for me to comfortable eating them.
4: Would you ever consider becoming vegan/vegetarian
I have considered it, but I really cannot afford the toll it would take on my health. I briefly became vegetarian for the sake of experimentation, but I lost too much weight to continue (and I'm already severely underweight due to health problems outside of my control). I do feel guilty about eating meat, but I try to make up for it by only eating free range/natural-diet animals.
Moeru wrote:With the huge amount of available vegetarian products available in some countries there is just no excuse for continuing to eat meat except laziness.
I am deeply offended by this statement, which was inconsiderate and rude, especially because those with disabilities (such as myself) are already labelled as lazy in enough areas as it is. As I said above, I honestly cannot be vegetarian, no matter how much I might want to be. When I attempted to be vegetarian, I lost 10 pounds in a very short period of time. Which would have been great, if only I hadn't been a meager 100 pounds to begin with.
I find this rather rude as well.
Laziness has nothing to do with why I eat meat. I eat meat because I like meat. It has delicious, nutritious aspects. I do not choose to eat meat because I am too lazy to find a vegetarian product. I choose to not eat the vegetarian product because I enjoy meat more.
1: Are you vegetarian or vegan?
No.
There have been parts of my life where I have had a predominantly vegetarian diet and only ate meat once a week or every fortnight. My mother was raised vegetarian and so a lot of the dishes she knew - and brought with her when she moved to live with my father - were vegetarian. When they were married, she learnt to make non-vegetarian Indian food. But the culture I was born into has a lot of vegetarian dishes and so that made up the bulk of what we ate. We didn't eat it because we were vegetarian. We ate it because we liked it. Vegetarian or not didn't play a part except on religious occasions.
I think predominantly, I eat things because I like them.
2: If yes WHY did you decide to become vegetarian/vegan.
N/A
3:If you are, how long have you been vegetarian/vegan.
N/A
4: Would you ever consider becoming vegan/vegetarian (if a meat eater)
Only for health reasons.
In addition: I have type II diabetes. Because of this my diet has to be low in carbohydrates. I do not like vegetables in general. Over the past three years, I have learnt to like them more but I still find most of the bitter and disgusting in taste or texture. The South Indian vegetarian dishes I would consume are meant to be eaten with rice and wouldn't help lower carbohydrates in my diet. Meat, however, has negligible carbohydrate content meaning I can eat as much as I want and not require more insulin. By having a larger portion of meat, a lower portion of carbohydrate rich food and some carbohydrate low vegetables, I can keep my insulin use to a minimum. And given the price of insulin, this is important.
Meat helps my health, diet and wallet.
Also, vegetables can have a fuckton of carbohydrates.
5: Do you feel healthier/less healthy since going vegetarian/vegan (if vegetarian/vegan)
N/A
6: How are your energy levels/iron levels etc (i guess both could answer this)
My energy levels have always been low due to mental health.
I have always been anaemic but most women past puberty and before menopause tend to have low iron levels. It's all the bleeding from your crotch.
With regards to health, though:
My cholesterol levels are great. My HBA1C (test related to blood sugar) is great. My kidney function is good. My liver function is great. In general, my blood tests show I am a healthy person. I have some disorders/diseases and I am overweight and need to exercise and have better fitness but being vegetarian/non-vegetarian will not change those as they are not related.
7: Do you take a vitamin suppliment. (i guess both could answer that too)
I am supposed to but I rarely remember.
Working on getting back into things after a forced hiatus.
