So, I joined today and went to the stream and tried to nab some pretty eggs.
And after a heck ton of errors, I ended up with nine eggs, and when I tried to adopt another it said I can't have more than five eggs at a time.
What's up with that?

It's done that to me before when my internet has been slow. You're not supposed to have more than 5 eggs, but I've accidentally gotten more than 5 when it told me someone else had picked up the egg before me (but I guess in reality I had already picked up the egg)

It's a site glitch right now. This thread discusses current bugs and issues.

Also, you're supposed to freeze or release the extra eggs so as not to exploit the site glitchiness. Just so you know. (I know you didn't mean to get the extras but some people are using this is a loophole to go around the egg limit.)
