Now lots of youtubers replace "flock members " with other parrots these youtubers take really good care of their parrots so i don't mind that but people who do have one parrot they give lots of cae and attention like mikey the macaw and friends so its best not judge others without truly knowing the person. put yourself in someone elses shoes
I never judged anyone who had a serious reason for keeping their bird solo.
I've had that happen to myself when we tried 4 different partners for our cockatiel, but she didn't like any of them. So we decided, heartbroken, that it would be best to find a new home where she can live in a flock and pick a partner herself. Unfortunately, she had to be put down due to illness before we found a place like that..

However, I disagree with you that a human can substitute a partner. The majority of birds are flock animals and should at least be kept as pairs (not talking about exceptions where it is necessary here). But that is just my humble opinion.

I don't have and have never had birds (snakes are more my thing  ), but I have heard that sometimes if a bird is kept alone, it will view it's human as its "mate", which i guess is unhealthy for the bird. Especially the bird species that mate for life and end up outliving their humans.

well again thats where fair judgement comes in. lots of birds have mates for life but their not bonded their more like a friend not a wife and with how long abird live if you're to old adopt don't shop and even if you're a young owner still adopt don't shop!

I had a couple of pet finches when I was a young kid, but the only bird I have owned (albeit quite briefly) as an adult was a beautiful Lutino Cockatiel. He was hand raised and gentle and amazing but as it would turn out, not destined to stay with me. It would seem that I had developed a very severe allergy to the dust that birds produce. So that's been the extent of my bird ownership, though I have a few pet sitting clients who have birds. I can deal with short term visits with most birds provided I take the appropriate precautions, so I still get to admire them that way. One of my favorites is Lucy, a Scarlet Macaw who LOVES to prank me with her wide array of noises and voices. She's kind of a jerk but I adore her intelligence.

I used to be determined that I'd someday own a pair of Eclectus Parrots but I've long since abandoned that dream since breathing is sort of necessary for my long term goal of living lol. But they're still my favorites. I love watching videos of them. <3

Nice! I Have parakeets myself, and they can be quite noisy at times. One is blue with a yellow face, and she is called Sapphire, and the other one is called Sky and he is also blue, but with a white face instead. Sky likes to sing a lot, and he just sings to the wall sometimes, and he is finger tamed as well. Sapphire is very noisy and likes to fly around, and she is not finger tamed yet, but one time she did fly onto my shoulder.

I don't currently have a parrot.
but sooner or later she will show up at my house.
My dream is yellow-breasted and alba cockatoo.
The lifespan of this bird scares me a bit.
that's why he wants to adopt a parrot at the age of 40+
these parrots live about 80 years.
