It's nice to be able to talk about things like this with people who understand. Personally, I don't think you are being dramatic. Just because you have a real hard time with phobias doesn't mean you are being dramatic. Phobias are real and they need to be taken seriously. Most people in my life don't take me seriously about my bear phobia. It kind of upsets me that they don't understand how scared I am.Sarcaster wrote:
Thanks PotterLady. My Mom had the cancer that I am to expect eventually, so I saw what she had to go through to get cured, first hand. And I know that I wont be able to handle that- at least not while awake (hello medically induced coma). And my Grandpa has had 4 heart attacks so far, and I've had the honour of seeing the outcome of that.
So, yeah. I've Noped away from that stuff a while ago!
Its nice to be able to express my phobia with a sympathetic audience, my family thinks that I am being dramatic and needlessly self destructive.
Phobias.. we all have one.

Open spaces. I've never heard or found the name of such a fear, but it's the direct opposite of claustrophobia. I still don't think it counts completely as a phobia, but it's been bad enough that I think I had it in the past. It mostly comes from rural areas, or in Illinois where you have a single or maybe a max of 3 houses near each other and nothing else for what feels like miles besides woods and corn. Doesn't help that I know of plenty scary stories involving houses like that. I guess I have a distaste for mirrors too. Its just an underlying severe distaste for them. I change the reason all the time, but I just.. don't like mirrors. Or open spaces. I'm fine in cramped ones though. Funny, because I hate getting touched by anything unexpectedly...

Agoraphobia. It's a fear of wide-open spaces, large crowds and traveling around which might be a combination of all three.Illithic wrote:Open spaces. I've never heard or found the name of such a fear, but it's the direct opposite of claustrophobia.

I'm pretty scared of dying. If I die, it'll always be too soon. I love life and I love living it, so I don't want to die. Ever.

Dark, open spaces. It just always freaks me out when I'm under a light-source and all around me is inky blackness. I always think some spider or something freaky from my mind will pop-out of nowhere, but that isn't very possible most of the time.

Shots and/or injections. I had a very bad experience with getting some shots on the way back from Germany and ever since, I never liked going to the hospital, even if the appointment wasn't for me.
Do not use my keep to gold mine, please and thank you!

Wasps
I am extremely scared of wasps
Every time one comes flying close to me, I freak out.
They're appearance is frightening and they sting.
Noooope.

I don't know if anyone has this phobia like me but I dislike looking at chili pepper's seeds. I can eat chili pepper though, but it makes me feel uneasy just by looking at squashed chili peppers with their seeds spilt out....Urg...

I have a phobia of vomit. To me, it's more terrifying than disgusting and I don't know why. I'm still trying to work on this, since it has actually affected my quality of life
