First question is:Why you like the genres/music/artists you do?
My answer is:I love Rock,Metal,Punk and I love these genres because I like Rock,Metal and Punk clothes, hair styles and so on.

Second question is :Why you DO NOT like some genres/music/artists?
My answer is:I HATE Rap,Hip hop and Pop because people who listen this genres are very conceited.

Third question is :How you discovered a particular genre/artist/music?
My answer is:It's slightly crazy.I looked on TV and I looking on W.I.T.C.H.I fall for the main negative character Phobos and on Youtube I looked on videos with him.And I clicked on one video called Phobos tribute. The song in this video was Wishmaster from Nightwish.
And this is all history how I find my favorite band.

And last question is:Recommendations (music you think everyone should hear or be familiar with)?
My answer is:If you don't know nothing about Rock,Metal and Punk, you can't exist.I think that people must know about these music styles.

I like to say that I listen to many genres of music, but after reading some of the posts in here, I realize that my music tastes are quite a bit smaller than I thought  . I think that the greatest reason I enjoy the music is listen to is either the complicated melodies and harmonies, the the way a certain vocalist portrays the lyrics they are singing, or it could simply be the bass line and undertones to the song.

Personally, I don't like rap or screamo. I don't have anything against the people who do, but to me it just sounds like someone is talking really fast, or you can't understand what they are saying.

I'm constantly on YouTube listening to bands my friends have told me about, and I always come across new music when perusing the video choices on the right side of the webpage. I was listening to Icon for Hire, which is a semi-religious rock band, when I found the band Fit for Rivals. They are an unsigned band out of Florida and I fell in love with them immediately after listening to their song Damage. Another friend told me a couple of years ago about her favorite band and just over a year ago, I found the music video for Ready, Set, Go! by Tokio Hotel. After listening to that song and Darkside of the Sun about a million times, I fell in love with them.

I believe everyone should listen to Nightwish at least twice, once listening to Tarja Turunen as lead singer and the other time listening to Anette Olzon as lead singer and decide for themselves which they like better. I also believe everyone should listen to Fit for Rivals, simply because Renee's voice is amazing. To finish, I think everyone should listen to the movie soundtrack of Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron because the orchestral pieces are absolutely amazing, but then again, that is Hans Zimmer for you :D

I'm really into rock, especially classic rock. The California surfer rock has a really great sound to it as well. Besides that I will listen to alternative, punk, or the big band sounds. My favorite bands are the Beatles, Beach Boys, the Who, Green Day, and Queen.
Personally I dislike hip-hop, rap, and dubstep. I feel like music has really lost the talent behind it. New songs are either auto tuned or created by computer programs. There are not many new bands out there today, Foster the People is one of the only recent bands that has surfaced; and personally I think they are actually pretty good.

I recently discovered the band Beecake, which is a Scottish band led by Billy Boyd. I'm not sure what genre I would classify their music as, but it Billy Boyd has an incredible voice that is pleasant to listen to anytime, anywhere. The music isn't explicit or inappropriate, but it is still something that I think anyone could listen to and enjoy. The songs can be a bit melancholy, but I prefer to just listen to the sound and not focus on the lyrics. They only have two albums on iTunes, but I assure you that spending $20 or so on those two albums is a purchase you will not regret. I hope they come up with another album soon.

I enjoy listening to the following:
My Chemical Romance, Blink-182, Good Charlotte, Greenday, The Used, Avril Lavigne occasionally, McFly (!) very occasionally, and Lilly Allen. Oh and Florence and the Machine.
If you like any of those and could reccommend new music to me it would be very much appreciated.
Also, I like the following YouTube artists:
Charlie Mcdonnell (charlieissocoollike) Alex Day (nerimon) and Chameleon Circuit (their music can be found under Nerimon's account).
Wait, you're Normal? Stay away from me, I don't want to catch your Normal!

Alex Day's music is fantastic. Charlie's is a bit silly, but I love it anyway. Although I'm not really a fan of Doctor Who, Chameleon Circuit's music is still good to listen to sound-wise, even if I don't understand what they're talking about.

Oh, wow, it would probably be quicker to say what kind of music I don't like, rather than list the ones that I do! :D

By and large, I don't like rap. The language and the culture it promotes turn me off, big-time. Having said that, I know that there's several artists coming into prominence that are trying to change that, so there might come a time when I include rap in my rather large fold. Right now it seems infested with violent, bigoted, mysoginist homophobes and I can't be bothered. (Plus I find it hilarious that so many of these people declare how 'hard' they are and spend all their times living in fortresses and go around surrounded by bodyguards.)

Not too keen on hip-hop, for mostly the same reason, although I might have liked one or two without realising.

Apart from that I like stuff in classical, folk, New Age, rock, techno, house, easy listening, jazz, reggae, 'world' music, ethnic and anything else I've forgotten!

Favourite bands include Enigma, Blue Gillespie, Albannach, ELO, The Beatles, Bond, The Kinks, The Script, T-Rex, Moody Blues, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Rammstein, Inner Circle, Pink Floyd, Carpenters, Kodo, Blur, Fleetwood Mac, Evanescence, Snow Patrol, Pet Shop Boys, The Monkees.

Favourtite male artists include Courtney Pine, Gerry Rafferty, Santana, Darius, John Barrowman, Bryn Terfel, Gotye, Tom Jones, Mike Oldfield, Frank Sinatra,Tiesto.

Favourite female artists include Sade, Kate Bush, Kimbra, Kathryn Jenkins, Jesse J, Adele, Duffy, Nina Simone, Julie London, Sally Oldfield, Enya, Donna Summer, Tina Turner, Cyndi Lauper, Christina Aguilera, Annie Lennox, Sarah McLachlan.

I'm also crazy for Holst 'The Planets' and anything by Mozart. Plus bhangra and Japanese anime themes. I'll also pick up on individual tracks even if I never find anything else by the artist that I like.

So yes, my playlist is pretty varied! :yey: :D

I like the country, alternative, and classic rock genres best. I've also found some pop and heavy metal stuff I like, but I'm unreasonably picky with my music - most of the time I find a song or few by a certain artist that I like but I completely hate the rest of their songs.

I also rather like classical and instrumental music - probably my favorite song in this type of category is Requiem for a Tower. and I don't terribly mind music sung in other languages as long as it sounds nice.

But for the most part, I don't really like the genres of the really heavy metal, rap, hip-hop/pop, and screamo/emo/whatever it's called these days. I've found certain songs/bands I like from these genres but for the most part I don't like them. Heavy metal and the "screamo" type stuff tend be very negative and dissonant sounding to me and in particular with screamo, I tend to be unable to understand what they're saying. :derp: I may use my music for background noise a lot of times but I do like to understand what I hear (except in the case of Rammstein, where I can't understand anything anyway XD). Rap just turns me off...sometimes the beats are nice but a lot of the rap I've heard is full of cussing or is degrading to women and this is just not stuff I need to hear. And pop for the most part I don't really like the sound. <w<

Favorite bands/artists include Coldplay, Rammstein, Adele, the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Guns n Roses, pretty much all the music from the 1960s (esp. the Monkees :yarly: ), '70s, and '80s, Backstreet Boys, Lady Gaga, Lady Antebellum, and a whole lot more. |D

Recently, as in the past few months, my likes in music have seemed to change. I mean, don't get me wrong, I still love pop music such as Katy Perry, Carly Rae Jepsen, Rihanna, etc. But I've started to like dub step music such as Skrillex and Deadmau5. The beats are pretty cool, but when I look back to when I was younger, this is the kind of music I thought I would NEVER like, but it's quite enjoyable.
