I also have a really hard time swallowing pills. I'm not afraid of choking, I just gag really easily.

Random tips that may help-make chewing motions with your mouth without actually breaking up the pill. That may condition you to swallow more easily. Another thing I've tried is shooting the pill really far down my throat before drinking so it doesn't touch the center of my tongue (hold the edge of the pill between two fingers in front of your mouth and squeeze. It will shoot pretty far).

Also, with certain pills that tend to be huge (like antibiotics) chewing them or breaking them up beforehand is an option.

I've also heard that tugging on your ear while swallowing a pill suppresses the gag reflex, but it doesn't really work for me.

The big thing about swallowing pills is getting past the anxiety. If you aren't afraid of gagging/choking, it becomes much easier. Also, practicing with other things (like ice, which will melt over time if you find you can't do it the first few times) will help.

Oh! Another thing to keep your reflex in check is to make a fist with your left thumb inside of it. For some reason, it works for me. Seriously, shoved like half a hot dog down my throat with no problem. :tard:

I still can't swallow large pills, they get stuck in my throat, I gag and vomit.

For small-normal size pills, I learned to take a big drink first and then lean my head back, toss the pill in and swallow. XD I get it to float down to my throat that way. Or I just chunk it in there and then drink, but that usually gags me.. -__-

I can't use a search engine to save my life. No matter how specific, how careful I try to be it either doesn't turn up what I want or spews forth a bunch of useless links or links to things I never would have associated with whatever I'm searching.

Up until I was married, I had no idea how to cook, outside of using a microwave. For some reason after I turned 10 my mom quit actually cooking and soon became known as the "Freezer Queen", so nicknamed after all the Freezer Queen dinners she shoved in the microwave.
It wasn't until I got married (thankfully to a man who knew how to really throw down on some "vittles") that I learned how to really cook. I mean I knew how to bake a cake from helping my grandma with baking, and I could make just about any pie or cake you'd want..but an actual meal..forget it.

My first Thanksgiving turkey was..interesting. I had forgot about the "giblets and neck" being in the bag inside the turkey, and just proceeded stuffing it and cramming that bad boy into the oven. Hours later..the turkey was done, and amazingly not burnt, but them poor "extras"..well..they had seen better days.

Also I too can't seem to grasp the more complicated math. Subtraction, multiplication, addition, division..no problem..you start to add in decimals (to a point) and fractions, pre-algebra, algebra..and on and on..I just completely fail to grasp the concepts..Even some of the stuff my daughter is coming home with confounds me..she hates math..but gets the concepts..I just sit there and look like some dumb puzzled old fart..lol

Either way we love them, and that cannot be changed, but we must not sentence ourselves to stumble in the darkness with them.

This. But im younger.... :sweat: I hate math...it just makes no sense whatsoever and no matter how many times fractions or decimals are explained to me i just sit there looking like this: :srsly: :t-D<: Fractions i do get mostly but the worst is algebra. Find the X....I get adding, subtraction and other basic stuff but add in decimals, fractions x's and a's and i have a brain fail.
I feel like doing this all the time!

You just need to use the Pythagorean theorem.

a2+b2=c2

32+42=c2

9+16=c2

25=c2

c2=5
