ok, this sounds weird, but I can't remember things out loud. if I see a word for example, I can write it down easy, but if you ask me how to spell it I won't know. its like if I try I forget. also, if you talk to me for five minutes and then ask what you said, I can parrot it back exactly, even with the same pitch and inflections, but I still won't know what you said. I can repeat and memorize, but I'm not actually remembering. it's like my brain goes on autopilot. (also, if you ask a question I know the answer too, regardless of if you're talking to me, I'll answer you before I even noticed I'm talking or actually take in the question)
this becomes a problem when my mom asks me to do something, but I memorize it instead of listening, without realizing it, and then I can't remember it till she brings it up later and starts yelling at me.
NOTE: our brains can in fact go on autopilot, I just needed to rant.

Dont worry have the same problem. It may be simple for my friends and my parents but for me it is just.... like a very advanced coding....KitsuneBeauty wrote:This may not be strange, but it's still something that bothers me. I do not get math. At all. Even things that are considered easy by most people. No matter how many times it's explained to me, and every other way it's explained, I just can't understand it. My mind doesn't seem to be wired to. I'll look at a problem, and instantly my mind gets tangled and confused trying to understand everything that needs to be done to solve it.
What's worse is neither of my parents get it either, yet my dad still enjoys griping and yelling at me about how if I "just pay attention" I'll understand it.
math is EVIL

My problem is I'm not very good at conversation in real life (and sometimes online), specifically finding a topic that's good to have a little sharing of thoughts on, could anyone give some advice for my situation, I'm asking because I don't have a lot of friends and I'm rather lonely.

I can't swallow pills.
I don't know why, it makes me squeamish. I don't like to think about the thought about it. Its hard to explain, but it just makes me uncomfortable. My parents get ticked off at me and they've even tried putting them inside of food. Continuously they say, "its like swallowing M&Ms!", but that doesn't help. Rather, it makes it worse. I think I might be afraid of choking or something, but whatever the reason is, I cannot get a pill to go down my throat for the life of me.

I have the same problem; I've gotten around it by quickly chewing up the pill and using water to help get the pieces down. It doesn't taste very good for a couple of seconds, but it's not really all that bad.Minnow wrote:I can't swallow pills.

I think part of it might be because I don't swallow anything else without chewing, so my mind doesn't want to let me swallow something whole even if it is as small as a pill.

I have no problem swallowing pills at all. (Unless they are giant) my family tends to do the tilt the head back quickly and swallow but I don't do that. I just put it in m mouth take a drink and swallow like normal.

Butter veing left on the oven top is a bad idea, especially when you are cooking something. You wouldn't think I would remembeer to take it off and out it back in the fridge. I had to throw one away once because it melted into it's seperate liquid forms.
Re: The "It may be common sense for some, but..." thread
It took me until I was 25 before I could passably swallow pills. And I still have to go about it a certain way or else risk having them get stuck midway down.
With round or oval pills it's not such a production, but those vaguely rectangular ones need to be placed far back on my tongue and lined up like a little arrow waiting to shoot down my throat. God forbid I tilt my head back when I take that sip of water, because nine times out of ten the pill ends up floating around my mouth and tasting terrible

The thing with pills, is they are designed to be SWALLOWED. You simply cannot just crush or chew all of them up. For example, if you do that with pain pills, instead of being relieved of pain, you would have that happen AND get a high off of it. Pills are designed to release their ingredients slowly over a few hours, not all at once.
