Add me to the crafty type people!! I mostly crochet or cross stitch. Tho lately it's been all crochet. Taught myself to filet crochet (which is amazingly easy!!), then started making doilies. After the first couple of basic doilies, I started teaching myself the fancier stitches and started making fancier doilies. Then I started making beanies. Now my most recent thing is pouches. Small ones mostly but I've made a few large ones. I've fallen in love with the sock yarns so have been making little bags out of that.

Here's a link to my doilies:

And here is the Epic Filet Crochet Project (12 feet long and took over three miles of size 10 thread):

<3 your work. It is beyond awesomesauce. I really love your bags too they look nice. The 12 foot long wonder is nifty beyond words. 100 years from now its going to be in some museum or such place like the ones I often see in crochet books as examples.

Thanks!!! The 12 footer wil probably be the only one that I make that's that long! I had no idea when I started the project! I figued maybe 6 foot, Boy was I WAY off!!!!! All in all it took about 8 months to do, tho I did stop and do other projects so that I wouldn't get buned out on it. I was so happy to get it done tho! Still don't know where I'm gonna hang it!!

o____o

your filet crocheting is indeed AMAZING!

That 12 foot long one, I could see that as a table runner at a large ornate banquet table- it would fit right in!

I've started doing peyote stitching- it's fairly hard to get the hang of, but I think once I do things will go quicker.

I'm mostly working on making cabochons that are wrapped inside beadwork that I can use for necklaces and such. I'm getting another book on doing it, so hopefully I'll have something to show you guys soon ^_^

Holy yarn stash overload!!! :wee: My birthday was last weekend and my aunt and uncle sent me a check for my b-day. So I went hog wild on ebay and got 24 skeins of fingering weight yarn for a REALLY good price. I won't be getting it until the end of next week but I can't wait!!!!! All 24 skeins are verigated and oh so pretty!! Now I just gotta get that full set of crochet hooks to go with it!! Hopefully I can convince my husband that it was yarn that I already had, I'm just now pulling it out to work on it!! Not sure how that's gonna go, but we'll see!!!! XD

And since I've gotten interested in doing the amigurumi stuff, this will be the perfect time to see if I'm any good at it!!!

Just wanted to share!!

I conlang. That is to say, I create languages.

I have a couple translations in my signature from my favorite conlang, Treyll.
I've translated a little bit of The Hobbit and a few other things. My goal is all 7 Harry Potter books, all 3 Inkheart books, and the four LotR books. In all of my conlangs. That's my lifetime goal.

I have about 2,000 words in Treyll so far.

Also, I'm obsessed with other languages and reading.
I memorized all the Harry Potter books, and read the last one (752 pages) for the first time in about 6 hours.

I have success! 6 out of 8 perfume experiments resulted in workable ones! though 2 of those are really close to each other. One of the 2 'failures' just needs some tempering. Probably going to add a bit of Tansy... the other needs detailed re-working to keep the petitgrain from taking over.

:omg: I like smelly stuff~!
(EDIT: Wow...smelly stuff looks so rude! Perfume! I love the smell of perfume!)
Yesterday, after much heartache, I finally managed to make one very lop-sided granny square! I'm sure after a bit of practice I can finally make my pixel afghan I've been wanting to make. (Pokemon egg ftw!) I'm still in the planning stages but so far it's looking very good!

Also, I have an unlimited stash of angora now! My friend got a cute little english angora bunny. Now I just need some wool to mix it with when I spin it, since angora retains heat a little TOO well.

Here is a question. How do you go about creating your own unique patterns in crochet? I'm in a non-creative streak this past few days other than my afghan idea and I need to find out how to spark it back up again...

I just pulled out my little weaver-thing (4 inches square) and a ball of yarn. Lets see how this goes? XD

edit:

Done! Not too bad for a first time, I think.

Just ignore the tails. I just haven't cut them off, yet. :derp:
