About three or four years ago I took up knitting - jumpers mostly - and earlier in the year went to a yarn show where there was a workshop for drop spindle spinning. It sounded like fun so I took it. Possibly a big mistake... Now I have two spinning wheels and spin so much I don't have much time for knitting. I'm about half way through knitting the first jumper with wool I've spun myself. I'm working my way through preparing two Jacob fleeces that I got raw and unwashed from the sheep, which is also a big time drain - so much work needed before I can even think about spinning it. Still, come the apocalypse at least I'll have clothes!
Thank you to everyone who gifted me :)

I do traditional and digital drawing. I really love to sketch and do character designs. But sadly, there's something holding me back to finish any characters.. It has been two years and I haven't finish a thing. It's always half finished. Is it because I'm too pefectionist of my arts? lol I really want to finish them.

Some time later, I found this oc in one of social media, it looks similar to my oc which I never publish in any media.. Now I don't know how to post my oc in any social media.. Once I post it it will like I'm plagiarizing their work with some modifications. They're also kinda famous in that social media.

I also do oil painting, I think I'm kinda suck at it and need more practice. I actually enjoy it, especially when mixing colors!

I've been sewing for well over 40 years, mostly costumes and clothing, but more recently I've been making quilts. Not a lot of them, but a few. I had purchased a new machine in 2016 to replace my 36-year old Kenmore. I also bought an embroidery machine at the same time, so I do a bit of that, too. I've taken quilting classes and have joined embroidery clubs to help me in my hobby.

I've made quilts, tote bags, embroidered towels, and zippered bags in the hoop, which means you make the entire bag IN the hoop! It's a pretty cool process, to be honest. Unfortunately, my biggest hoop is only 6x10 inches, so my bags are somewhat on the small size.

I am in the process of finishing three quilts that have languished as a UFO (UnFinished Object) for a couple of years. I have an embroidery project in the near future that will replicate my neighbor's cat, who had to be put down a few weeks ago. I found a great cat design that looks almost exactly like Garfield, so I am eager to start. I'm just not sure if I should make it into a pillow or framed art.

I enjoy both hobbies, but I have to say that I enjoy machine embroidery more, at least in this moment. I've figured out it's intricacies so I can pretty much embroider w/out thread issues, but my sewing machine is starting to not stitch nicely. I may have to take it into the shop. Kind of bummed because I have two quilts that I want to finish before Mother's Day, so I can ship them off to my stepmom and my aunt.
Please do not mine my Keep. However, whatever I have in the Main tab is open for clicks, should you feel so inclined. Thanks for understanding (and for any clicks!)

One of our toddlers just came from the infant room and graduated from formula to the milk with the red label. I rinsed the can out and plan to use it as a noise maker. Or maybe it could be a prize container since we have a number of toddlers being potty trained.

My plan is to use those large plastic rocks, the ones you normally put for room decoration (like you put them in a clear glass bowel to sit somewhere. Not too small though.
The Wishlist in my profile is outdated (I can't quite figure out how to edit it now, so many of the creatures there have already been obtained).

Gift ideas: Really am looking for a Varja Crystalwing for future breeding of pygmies and Gemdragons.

I like to draw mainly, and write stories I come up with in my head/dreams. :wee:

I've also done wire sculptures (those are really fun and I'd like to pick it up again), crochet (I can make a bracelet with charms, but I've been trying to make a facecloth without much success), feather crafts, dream catchers, cards, and I made a dress for a barbie doll when I was younger. Now that I'm older, I'd like to try embroidery and making my own clothes and other sewing projects. Practical craft skills and profitable hobbies are kind of what I'm looking into now.

I make plush creatures of my original creature and character designs.

I started out by making those free online patterns and studying how they were put together. Then once I realized how many were I translated that to my own art.

For reference a simple pattern is a profile drawing with parts the head and stomache copied to create the gussets. Also details such as ears and tails are often separate and added between seams. More complex patterns have the head separated into parts to further copy the shape as well as darts added to round out shapes further. Materials such as wool and yarn can also be used to make fur look better or add a type of fur that might be harder to find in existing fabrics.

I am currently experimenting with painting fabric while still keeping at least close to the original texture. Fleece is one of the hardest to paint as you can brush out faux fur. I haven't tried to paint minky much due to the cost as well as fleece being easier to sew and obtain.

I generally make quadruped creatures as they stand up much easier and have a less complex pattern than bipedal creatures which require the arms to be attached separately.

I also needlefelt though sewing is my main hobby. To start I would avoid getting wool from a big retailer especially hobby lobby as their wool is awful. It takes much longer to shape and has a rather awful and scratchy texture. I read that corriedale wool wool is good so I tried that and suddenly needlefelting was a lot more fun. I also used churro wool from the same small store and that worked out well.

For tutorials it depends on what you want to do, there are a lot out there for felting using an existing base such as foam but it takes a bit more looking to find ones for creating the base out of the wool yourself.

Pinterst especially seems to be mainly for starting with an existing base, youtube has a mix of both. I would search up needlefelting basic shapes if you want to start out without a foam egg.

I love to draw in my free time, so that's one thing. Particularly shading as I'm not much good at anything else. Well... I don't think I am anyway. I am taking an art class this year, so hopefully that will help me improve in areas other than shading. :)

I'm currently I'm drawing a carnation actually which has been really hard for me so far. Why are these flowers so overcomplicated??? Anyway, I'm hoping to stick to more cartoon drawings for a bit after I finish this one, since it's taking me so long.

Outside of art, I play the violin and the piano! I have played the piano for about 10 years now and the violin for about 2 years. I'd like to think I've gotten pretty good at the piano at this point, but I've seen other people my age play... I'll say I'm decent. I'm considering a job in music therapy actually, so this is a hobby that may become more than just a hobby some day.

Not sure if anyone's interested, but I made a quick video on how I make feathered butterflies. I usually put them in shadowboxes at the end, but didn't have one big enough for this particular butterfly. Link to the video is in my profile.

It's been a long time coming, but I'm finally pulling myself out of a pretty long depression spell... so I'm sort of rediscovering my hobbies. Also, after moving a bunch of times, I'm now in the process of replacing a lot of lost collections and whatnot. I need a new bookshelf actually since I've been picking up books left and right lately! I'm in the middle of rereading the Sookie Stackhouse series. I'm also in the very beginning of crocheting a baby blanket for a friend who is due in October. I haven't crocheted since like 2012, but it's awesome getting to go on youtube and watch tutorials. I never thought to do that when I was younger so everything I made was... not great lol On top of that, I have a couple of cookbooks that I'm trying to cook through. I feel like I'm a good cook, but I want to be great! So I'm cooking through the official D&D cookbook, and then I found the Necronomnomnom which is Lovecraft inspired (and I LOVE it). I have a Thai cookbook as well, but it intimidates me and I don't have nearly any of the ingredients I need haha I'm also able to garden for the first time in years, so I started herbs in the spring. Cilantro, Parsley, Chives, Rosemary, and Thyme, as well as cat grass and Catnip. I usually don't try to grow flowers, but I did find some Lily of the Valley that I'm trying out. My more neglected hobbies are my paint by diamond kit that I've been sloooowly working on for months, and I have an electric drum kit that I desperately want to learn to play but I haven't made a lot of progress. My motivation to DO things is coming back, however, so I know I'll jump back on that horse eventually. I really don't even do these things a lot currently, but I'm getting back into it and that makes me happy.
