Creative A.D.D. (Attention Deficit Disorder, for those of you playing at home). It plagues me. Today, it's the urge to pick up some crocheting I never finished. Tomorrow, I think I'll do some beading. Maybe Wednesday, I will start that fanfic that's been brewing in my brain forever. Or maybe I'll do some fractal art. Or some graphics. Or...maybe I'll just pick up something new, like gardening.

Hey. I'm depressed. I self harm. I can be annoying. If you don't want to deal with me then that's understandable.
And if I post and you reply I probably won't see it I'm sorry. I always check my pms though.

I'm so glad it's not just me. I am always picking up new hobby crafts but I never finish them. I started making jewelry in college, then candles a few years ago, then moved onto soaps, then I moved on to sewing costumes for conventions (still doing this one), and now I've been attempting to do glass fusing even though I fail at it.

I like to experiment a lot with different hobbies, I'm trying drawing with charcoal, pixel art, and sculpting with clay. I just finished my avatar a couple hours ago, a pixel art of my OC, Sebastian. I would love some tips on how to improve my pixel art and if you have any tips and tricks on sculpting and charcoal, I would love to hear them.

I cross stitch, paint models and sometimes sculpt with polymer clay or make things with beads. (or a combination of the two) But mostly at the moment I cross-stitch.

Nope, definitely not alone - in the past I would dabble in any craft that took my fancy. Being part of the model horse hobby I did a lot of customising (so sculpting, painting, hairing), leather work and and made miniature carts and other props. I have so many half finished models it isn't true! But I also did glass engraving, lampwork beads (haven't tried fusing... yet), calligraphy, the usual cross stitch and freehand embroidery, tatting, jewellery making of various kinds, beading, feather painting and soap (nice to see there's another soaper out there). Really I'm happy to have a go at anythign that doesn't produce a practical useful product, the soap aside.

Now I'm working full time and studying part time and have all the other househhold and animal care things to do I don't have any time at all to play, so crafting is definitely on the back burner for the forseeable future :(
Thank you to everyone who gifted me :)

I have been into art for as long as I can remember. However, I didn't start doing art for serious before I met my best friend. She lived with her mother and grandmother, and they where both incredible artists. It was amazing how they could perfectly copy the picture using a paintbrush. My friend already had learned to draw and paint from them, but my family never really encouraged that. Not that they didn't like me being artsy, they just didn't take their time to teach me. So me and my friend used basically all our free time to draw, and dreamed about one day being as good as her mother and grandmother.

I loved art class more than anything. No matter what we would do I would always be as creative as I could. One time in elementary school we where supposed to sculpt fishes and such out of clay. I ended up making one of those really scary fishes from Nemo, the one with the long teeth and a light on it's forehead. It didn't end up looking good, but I was proud anyways.

Later in elementary school we got a teacher who was very good at drawing. Almost all our art classes from then was learning how to draw cartoons, and I loved it. We even got a visit once from a real artist (he was living from making art) and he learned us about drawing highlights and shadows, and how to blend coloured pencils on paper. He really enjoyed my drawings and said that I should continue practicing. I don't know if that was just to be nice, but it has sticked with me since.

Now I basically just draw traditional art. I like it a lot, and I don't think I will convert to digital drawing, because I have fun drawing the way I do now. I also do other kinds of art, but not that often. I make my own ritual tools (I'm a spiritualist), dreamcatchers, orgonite (google it) and sometimes even jewelry. I love being able to express myself through art, and it is a huge part of who I am.

I've been writing since second grade. I don't know what prompted me to take it up-- I just picked up my journal and started writing. My ideas were, of course, juvenile and rife with Mary Sues, but I never stopped! I remember my worst one: A jet black stallion with a bright red mane. His name was Meteor, and he could run at 700 mph and immolate himself at will. And no, none of the other horses in his herd had incredible powers like his, because Meteor was some kind of space alien who fell to Earth as the last of his kind. Yeah... I'll always remember Meteor the Cosmic God-Horse.

Eventually I started learning the finer things about storytelling, especially as I discovered stories that helped me form the very core of what I write today. Granted, most of my stuff nowadays is pretty grim, but I still put in as much effort as I can to live up to the standard of quality that all of those works have set for me. It's my passion, after all! Lately I've even been trying to work toward making a living off of it. Y'see, I've really gotten into gaming over the years, both video and tabletop. I've been practicing writing campaigns for Pathfinder, crafting lore and monsters, and studying up a little on game design!

Currently I've been working on a pretty ambitious project to help me practice. It's one huge worldbuilding exercise. I'm designing an entire continent with five major sections, and each of these parts will have its own campaign, with its own unique lore, creatures, races, etc... It's gonna take a looooong time, but I figured this is just the thing I need to really develop my skill, and this is the most motivated I've been in quite a while. I dare to say this has been really good for me, and I'm hoping it'll one day lead to something amazing. :yey:
