That's cool, Umalia. Do you plan to make more for a project or something?

I went to an SCA event yesterday, and took along a spindle and some silk top. I've never been to an SCA anything so I wanted to have something to do with my hands. I ended up with this:

Yes, that's a penny.

Thank, Shai. Actually, I did make some thin ones. I'm planning on making them into bracelets and barrettes. The "plain" ones I'm going to embroider.

What's SCA? And I'm afraid I don't know anything about thread. It looks thin? XD

Hello all,

I have a few hobbies, I love reading and writing and do this in between my other crafting hobbies. My main crafting is I quilt, cross stitch, knit, crochet and spin. I taught myself how to do all of these and I find it very relaxing. I am currently knitting socks (I have a strange obession for socks lol). The quilt I am currently making is a cancer quilt. It has sayings all over it (what Cancer cannot do) and hand drawn cancer ribbons. I am also doing a block of the month quilt that my local quilt store hosts. Other than those things and baking/cooking I am pretty boring ^_^
I absolutely love Mohrior, Vernox Dragons, Bread Creatures, Laetolis Beast and Cascara Amagnae frozen hatchlings just PM me if you have any for sale.
Wishlist: I love purple torveus dragons, frozen Cascara amagnae hatchlings, mohrior, vernox dragons, bread creatures, laetolis beasts, prism fox, confera pegasus, pennant pegasus, rabbitsune, me’chuan bengolo/rewana, skulk, alicantos and penguins.

I crochet almost constantly when I'm not on the computer. My project bag always has an in-progress item as well as small balls that I use to stitch cat toys when I want a small project. I sell the crocheted cat toys at work as a fund-raiser for the Relay for Life. Currently I'm trying to work through my yarn stash so I'm 2/3s of the way through a shawl.
I also knit, although at turtle-speed. I draw and paint, bead and make wire jewelry. While I can sew clothing, I don't do it very often because I find it too difficult to adjust the patterns to fit me. My aunt introduced me to quilting. I have yet to actually make a quilt, but I do design and sew my own machine-appliqued wall hangings.

So way back in, er, November, I had that fractal spinning experiment going on? I've finally gotten around to plying the singles into a two ply yarn and am going to show the result.

Yes, I know, crappy pic. Sorry, it's been too overcast and cloudy to get a good pic and it doesn't seem like the weather intends to change anytime soon. What do you guys think?

Shai you did a wonderful job. I love it and I know how bad the weather has been lately (cause we are almost neighbors LOL well about 10 - 15 mins away) I love the colors (I hope I am seeing them correctly pink, green, blue, and purple). Anyway enough rambling it is terrific ^_^

Oh my gosh! I love what I do!
  • Drawing
-I mostly draw animals, cartoons, and music artists that inspire me.
  • Painting
-I haven't done much painting lately but my latest one was of a guy named Dahvie Vanity from a band I listen to. I took a picture at Warped Tour and decided I wanted to paint that picture. It came out amazingly.
  • Kandi
-This is a style of jewelry. Basically its beads and charms. Haha well I currently am making a giant 3D red heart out of Kandi. This and a bow to wear in my hair on a hair band. I actually might start making and selling some of the things i know how to do, such as pokeballs, bows, top hats, and cuffs. I think I could make ashort living out of it XD

I enjoy drawing and sewing (recently got back into the latter) and spend a lot of time working with special effects makeup in the off season from the haunted house I work at. I do sell things, but we're not allowed to advertise, so I won't say where and how much. But I do have my own personal little business. It's been rather slow lately, but that's great considering I'm pretty busy with school right now.
The sun is filled with shining light, it blazes far and wide.
The moon reflects the sunlight back, but has no light inside.
I think I'd rather be the sun, that shines so bold and bright.
Than be the moon that only glows with someone elses light.

My hobby isn't exactly a craft, but when done well it can still be a work of art. I keep fishtanks. It's a wonderful combination of science and art. Right now I have a 55 gal goldfish tank, 2 10 gal betta tanks, and I'm building a 24 gal community tank. Unfortunately they're all recovering from a major power outage which killed some fish and caused a massive algae outbreak. The only tank I have good pictures of is one of my betta tanks.

I can't figure out how to make the photos smaller. Sorry.

My other major hobby is landscape photography. I take my camera with me everywhere I go. My favorite subject is nature. I also love photographing sunsets. When I can, I combine my two hobbies, but as of late my tanks aren't very photogenic.
