I've ended up taking in another pair of cats. They belonged to a friend who died recently, but the person she willed them to isn't able to take them (narrowly missed taking in her horse too, just as pleased about that). So that brings the total to 6.5 cats if you include the one who lives up the road because she wouldn't share and the outside mouser, who is his own cat thank you. Even I think this is a bit excessive!

The two new ones are an 11-ish year old tabby male and a 8-ish year old black longhaired female. They were left alone in their previous house for some time whilst their owner was ill, with only a neighbour going in to feed them (if I'd know that I'd have moved them weeks ago), with the result that the girl hasn't been groomed and is horribly matted. She's probably going to have to be shaved :( I hope they decide they will integrate with the other three otherwise I'll be having to find another home for them.
Thank you to everyone who gifted me :)

Wow that is a lot of cats, but it is nice you were able to get them a home ^^. My mom has a cat friend who lives around the nursing home where my grandma stays. She named her River and apparently she is both a tortie and not fixed...the lady at the front desk says that she has had a number of kittens. My mom wants to get her and take her home, but not if she is pregnant again...I haven't seen her though.
The Wishlist in my profile is outdated (I can't quite figure out how to edit it now, so many of the creatures there have already been obtained).

Gift ideas: Really am looking for a Varja Crystalwing for future breeding of pygmies and Gemdragons.

I currently only have one pet. She's my ESA dog, Becca. She is a 5 year old Catahoula/Pit Mix. She has one blue eye and one brown eye (yay for heterochromia!).

She gets anxious and needs to be comforted. Loves human babies, but gets easily irritated by puppies. If a dog irritates her, she will pin them down and stare at them as if to say "STOP", then walks away as they cry from fear. (This doesn't actually hurt them--just startles them)

Becca LOVES people. She wants to be friends with all the people. Except for this one time in a Tractor Supply Store, a guy asked to pet her and she FREAKED out--so the husband and I came to the conclusion that there must have been something wrong with him.

Her favorite place to be scratched/patted is her butt. If you're petting her face, she will often times turn around and give you the butt instead. "The Spot" is on the back of her neck or between her shoulders (it moves) and she will give a joker grin if being scratched there.

Below is Becca wearing an outfit. She weirdly enjoys clothes:

I'm trying to bond our two rabbits - a new doe and an existing buck. They hate each other. I've taken 6 months before now to bond a pair and that was eventually fine, but these two just seem to want blood.

A month on and... hmmm. Integration is not going well despite early promise. I know these two came from a bigger group originally so I thought they might be ok, but the boy is very dominant, and the girl not far behind. Given the last attempt at integration with my three failed dismally and has obviously been remembered (my previously cowardly boy is now all out for blood) it is not boding well. The new pair ("the mogs") are still shut in the back bedroom and not getting anywhere near as much interaction as they should.

Part of the girl's matting problem is because it turns out she has no teeth, so can't groom properly. She's going to the vet for that and her dodgy stomach (veterinary diet not having a lot of effect) tomorrow, so we will see what is said. She'll do the trip with the existing boys who need their jabs... A certain cat-pheromone company are now doing a diffuser range called 'friends' which I'm trying to see if it will calm things down - drug the so-and-so's into submission! Wish me luck!

Good luck! Thankfully my new cats were already a group. A brother in law died a few months ago so I took in his 3 cats and gave my daughter back her cat I'd borrowed due to a mouse problem. Now, they have had to get used to the dog, but the sibling pair had known dogs as kittens and the older guy didn't take long to realise the dog is not a threat. He still hisses, but he will also lie on the same bed as the dog now.
Feel free to click my entire keep. Anything I don't want to grow is protected.

Hello!
So, I have a lot of pets, this is going to be really fun! I don't directly own all of the following, but I love them as if they are mine, and I consider them mine so, yeah.

1. First up is Homer. He is a rescue. The vets told us he is a golde retriever-lab mix, but I'm pretty sure he has some german shepard too. He is a great guard dog, and spends so much time on our front porch that we put a cough out there so he'll be comfy. He listens pretty well, but will occasionally run off if he sees a bunny or squirrel in the yard.

2. Second is Riley. I 'inherited' him from my great-grandpa after he passed away. He is a cocapoo (Cocker spaniel-poodle). He is currently living with my grandpa because he is 12 years old and a small dog, so we were worried he would get hurt when he tried to play with Homer. He is a good guard dog, and adores people. He yapped like there's no tomorrow whenever anyone came near our house.

3. Next is Major. Major is a pure-bred, black and white pittbull. He lives with my uncle. I love him alot, and he is very well trained, he knows to follow gestures and snaps as well as verbal commands. He is also getting old, so now he's pretty lazy, but he used to be really energetic.

4. Next is another Riley. She also lives with my uncle. We are unsure of her breed, as she was bred without a permit by random people, and both her parents were 3+ breeds mixed, they were mutts. She grew in an abusive home, so she is very skittish. Last summer, I spent almost the entire summer at my uncle's house, training her. It was difficult because when I tried to show her what I meant by sit, she thought I was punishing her and would get scared. I did manage to teach her to sit, lay down, shake, and stay.

5. Next is Ben. He is a long-haired cat, breed unknown. He is s very patient cat, and doesn't mind being picked up, ore really any torcure my 3-yr cousin puts him through. He is like my idol.

6. Next is another cat, Katie. She is a siamese-maine coon. She is a quiet, lazy cat. She loves to hide under beds and behind the couch. She is a very pretty cat.

7. Next is the cat of many names. He is Katie's brother, and therefore also a siamese-maine coon. His original name was Simba, but now literally everyone calls him by a different name, there is Runty, Runt-dadun, Dun-dadun, and, as I call him, Dundy. He and Katie are inseparable, and spend a lot of time togeather under the bed...

8. Next is Bluie, or Bluy. She is the final of the siamese-maine coon triplets. Her nick-name is Blucifer (Like the devil) And for good reason. She is known to randomly bite your hand while you pet her, and to occasionally swat or bite at the dog when he gets too colse (I'm talking about Major, as these cats are at my grandma's house, but my uncle lived there for a while with his dogs). She never hides, and will often climb up onto the table while we eat and invite herself to your food. The only way to get her to stop is to pick her up and move her. She is part maine coon, she is NOT light. At all.

9. Next is one of my aunt's horses, his name is lightening. He is an appaloosa horse. He is getting old, and cranky. He was never properly trained, and my aunt neve used him for riding, so it wasn't necessary. He will try to bite if you approach his stall, but once you're inside the stall, he is a completely different horse. He loves to have his belly brushed.

10. The second, and last of my aunt's horses is Chance. Chance was a barrel racer, who is now lame in his back left leg. He has recently gotten what we thought was an abscess on his front left leg, and once we got rid of it, he got the same thing on his right, we have had 2 farriers and 2 vets look into it, and they are still saying to treat it like an abscess, so we have... He is an amazing horse personality wise, and loves to lick you. Literally like a dog, I love it!

Edit: Ok, here's an update for anyone who is wondering (which is probably noone), my aunt called in a third, very experienced, vet to look at chance's hoof, he had to drive almost 3 hours to get there. He said that everything the previous vets said was incorrect, they put the wrong special shoe on him, we weren't soaking it long enough, pretty much everything was wrong. Now he needs to have a surgery. We're not sure when or where the surgery will take place, but we now have the correct shoe on him and have been soaking it for 20+ minutes 2 times daily, so hopefully he gets better soon!

11. The last ones I have, aren't really pets, they are wild animals, but I feel they deserve some recognition. There are 6 wild turkeys my aunt feeds in her yard everyday (the same place where the horsebarn is, in the middle of nowhere) and I love to see them every day. They roost in the tall trees next to my aunt's house every night, and the noise they make was at first really scary, but I have since gotten used to hearing. Also, if you have never seen a turkey run, you should look for a video on YouTube or something, because, let me tell you, it is hilarious! At least I think it's funny.

As for the cleaning up after your pet... Yeah, I used to take my dog on trails and to parks and beaches that now say no dogs allowd, due to the poop problem. If you don't want to clean up after your dog, DON'T GET A DOG! Cleaning up after your dog is part of the job description. (though I see owning a dog as more of a previlage than a job) So... yeah, that's what I have to say about that.
I love to see pictures and videos of pets also!

My only pet is my cat, Patrick. He's a tabby rescue from the Hawaii Humane Society. His tail is only an inch long because he damaged it at some point before the HHS got him (when he was 1 y/o). He's more a dog than a cat, really. When we first got him he was very skittish, but he quickly got used to us, and he even played fetch with my mother. He loves my father more than any of us, though, which is super ironic because my father hated cats. (Side note, that's why we only have one cat, even though the rest of us would gladly have more...) Patrick's loved my dad since the first time he saw him; Patrick followed him all along the fencing as my father walked outside. That's mostly the reason we got him. Now, though, he's a fat lump. He weighs almost 20 lb, which is just ridiculous, and he spends his day sleeping in the most inconvenient places he can find. He's super chill for a cat, though. We pick him up and swing him around and throw him (gently) and squish his belly fat when he's spread out on the ground and he just looks at us. As most cat people will tell you, cats are ususally prideful (our last cat knew when you laughed at her, she'd snub you for days), but Patrick has no shame. He only hisses at the vacuum cleaner.

Excellent place to end!

Sorry, for the long cat rant!

Sorry, for the long cat rant!

I love cats, and wish I had one again. I did when I was younger, she was an outdoor cat. Just kinda showed up on the porch one day and we fed her. She got really fat we though she was pregnant. This was also around the time we got my dog. When we moved we had to leave the cat behind though, I was only about 14 at the time :(
My dog (who is now 7), now acts more like a cat than anything, she's quite skittish. For a long time we though she was a mix breed (husky/german shepard) and I believe we got her from the back of a car in a parking lot (used to be pretty common at our big grocery store in town) and I would see dogs around that looked exactly like her, though they were from the same litter.
Not to long ago my mother ran into a lady who saw our dog and asked if we knew what breed she was. My mom said maybe a mix, and the lady said nooo she's a Lapponian Herder! Turns out the lady breeds them in this area. So I looked up pictures and they are spitting images of my dog (the black and tan ones). It was such a shock to find out my dog is a purebred, especially when I'm training to be a dog groomer, and went over the AKC recognized breeds, turns out Lapponian Herders are only recognized in Europe and UK (it's a Finnish breed)
She's a beautiful dog, but does act more like a cat than a dog.

Hi!

1. My Black Lab-German Shepard mix, Teddy, has been getting out of the dog crate used to contain him while my family is out. He seems to be pushing through a gap he's made in the bars, but the only issue we have with him is that he loves to eat trash. As long as we keep the can out of reach, my parents decided to get rid of the crate and let him roam while we are out.

2. My bi-color orange and white mixed cat, Ra, seems a bit like a brat when it comes to interacting with the other 3 cats in our house, two of which are his siblings. He has a tendency to get pushy when it comes to getting attention. He even goes as far as attacking his sister's tail as I pet her!

3. The only cat that Zeus, a black and white bi-color, is close with is my eldest cat, Angel. His brother, Ra, is often aggressive and his sister, Persephone, is just distant from the other cats. In a way, I feel concerned about him, but he seems happy. He is still such a cinnamon roll!

4. Persephone only gives her full attention to the people in my family. She ignores the cats, but she is extremely friendly and vocal towards me and my mom. She is adorable calico girl!

5. My eldest, and maybe my best friend, Angel is a gentle and sweet cat. He loves to plop on top of my legs and sleep, but he is slightly heavy and uncomfortable. I also believe he is a purebred, or close to it, Snowshoe cat. Besides the fact that his muzzle has only a faint white line around it, he matches the description. However, my mom found him as a stray several years ago with Mittens, who was hit by a car two years later. I'll probably never know.

6. My pet family is huge. Before I was born, my parents owned a Cocker Spaniel, named 'Puppy'. He found a new home because my parents were going through firstborn worry. The first family pet I can remember is a pure-bred Himalayan cat, known as Pooh. He also had a little brother named Monster who died of sickness shortly after I was born. Mittens was a bi-color gray and white cat who was found with Angel. Besides 'Puppy', my family also raised a Rat Terrier-Chihuahua mix, known as Pedro and a Black Lab, known as Jax. Jax and Pedro died on the same week, which I called the worst luck for obvious reasons. Pedro was hit by a car because he had a habit of visiting the neighbors across the street when no one was looking and Jax had a cancer that made him bloated. Jax ended up dying in dad's arms and my younger brother had to witness it. This all happened several years ago and I haven't been hit by pet death since. There is no need for sorry for your loss at this point. I may miss them, but I am over their deaths.
