I got one from Vegas and two from a friend who moved to Australia. And, fortunately, I live in a place where no one really cares that I own them except for a butthurt few - plus, the law is blurry where I live. Some cops think you can own them but not buy them, some say you can own them but not breed them...ugh. It's ridiculous.TNHawke wrote:They are likely reacting like that because ferrets are illegal to own in California. Where did you get them? How do you get vet care for them? What do you feed yours?
You'd be best to NOT share with folks that you have them. If the authorities find out, they can be confiscated and immediately euthanized, and you can be fined or even go to jail. Not good.
All that said, they are ADORABLE, and look to be in good health. Mine never liked bath time. They spent the whole time trying to escape from the tub. Fortunately, they didn't need baths more than a couple times a year unless they got into something really messy or sticky.
I feed them with Eight-in-One Ultimate ferret food, available from every PetSmart in the state. Health care is provided at my local vet's office (he treats thirty or so ferrets in my area alone, so I'm not afraid of him blowing the whistle on me). :3 And I spoil them with the occasional bacon or banana flavored treat (from Bandit).
