This RP takes place at the very end of the Merethic Era, also called the Mythic Era. What follows is a short summary of where each of Tamriel's races stands at this time:

The Atmorans (Nords, and later Imperials) are the most prominent and widespread race in Skyrim, after having found victory not only over the Falmer, but the Dragons as well. Alduin the World Eater has been vanquished (or so they think) through the use of an Elder Scroll that sent him forward in time, and the remaining dragons have fled into the mountains unreachable by mortals.

The Falmer (Snow Elves) are scattered, most having taken sanctuary with the Dwemer, some having settled in Archer's Hollow, and a few have remained in The Forgotten Vale to guard the Chantry of Auri-El. Those remaining outside of these havens wander the wilderness, avoiding the Atmoran settlements for fear of being hunted down and slaughtered.

The Dwemer (Dwarves) still possess their great underground civilization, centered around their capitol of Blackreach. They have taken in the Falmer who agreed to their terms, which included being counted among the lowest social caste and ingesting toxic mushrooms. They are a race obsessed with science and technology, placing less priority on the worship of deities than others.

The Orsimer (Orcs) are a relatively new race to the world, having once been Altmer who followed Trinimac, one of the Aedra. After Trinimac was defeated by the Daedra Boethiah, his followers were disfigured into the Orsimer, now thickly built and green-skinned folk who made their nomadic home in the frozen wastelands to the north of Saarthal.

The Nedes (Bretons) were once a prominent race of men that lived throughout Skyrim before the Atmorans ever set foot on the northern shores, but were since reduced to minuscule numbers and primitive ways of life. They are described as half-man, half-elf mongrels that now live simple lives in small villages in High Rock, though they have only recently been discovered by the Atmorans.

The Altmer (High Elves) live mostly in the Summerset Isles, apart from the rest of the world. There they seek to preserve what divine powers they have, as the 'children of Auri-El'.

The Bosmer (Wood Elves) have broken off from the Altmer people to colonize the land of Valenwood. At the turning of the age, they will establish the Camoran Dynasty, setting forth the Green Pact in which they are bound never to harm any sort of plant life.

The Chimer (who would later become the Dunmer, or Dark Elves) lived in nomadic tribes in Morrowind, after being led there by the Daedra which they worship. Over time these tribes would become the Great Houses of Morrowind, which are still a prominent part of the political atmosphere in Morrowind by the time of the events of the game.

The Beastfolk (Khajiit and Argonians) are secluded in small, primitive villages in parts of Valenwood, Elsweyer, and Blackmarsh. Few know of their existence.

The short answer is yes. HOWEVER, any and all non-Falmer characters must be cleared by me via PM before their forms can be posted. A character that is not a Falmer needs to have a reason for being in the RP at all, which is why they must be approved before they are posted. There are some stipulations as to what race your character can be, which are explained in the "A Bit About History" tab above. The races you are able to select from include Falmer (Snow Elves), Dwemer (Dwarves), Atmorans (Later known as Nords), Orsimer (Orcs), and Nedes (Later known as Bretons).

Personality: While he hasn’t always had the easiest time in life, Ryn is a natural leader. He has a great sense of honor, and refuses to go down without a fight. He treats those under his command like family. Every skirmish with the human invaders only strengthens his resolve that he and his people will survive despite their efforts. He is cunning and skilled in tactics, born by many years of fighting for survival. He can seem a little self-destructive, as his ambition and bloodlust can sometimes overshadow his common sense.
History: Ryn remembers little of his childhood and early years, anything before the war is mostly a blur. He was there at the sacking of Saarthal, and the battle on Solsteim too, where the Snow Prince was slain. Somehow he was able to escape the island before he was slaughtered along with everyone else, and he immediately traveled back to his home village as fast as he could. There, he and his brother helped to move what was left of his people, mostly women and children, into hiding. It was a long and perilous journey as they fled south and west, but they have made a suitable home for themselves in Archer’s Hollow. At first, it was only him and his brother acting as protectors of their people. But now it is they two of them in command of a small contingent of warriors and mages.

Name: Vyrsur
Age: 258
Gender: Male

Personality: Vyrsur is very protective of his brother, even if Ryn is much older. Being a master in Restoration magic, his temperament is very different from his brother’s. He is far from aggressive, and has always avoided conflict when possible, opting instead for diplomatic solutions if he can. His nature is soft and kind, with a love for the simple things.
History: Unlike his brother, Vyrsur remembers his childhood quite vividly, and has done his best to wipe the years of war from his memory. He fought in the sacking of Saarthal, but stayed behind to protect his village when his brother left for Solsteim. The months when Rynkaris was gone were some of the most stressful in his life, as he fought to defend their village from the Nords who attacked seemingly weekly with only a few other warriors to help. He was all too happy when his brother returned and said that they must leave what was left of their ruined home and go into hiding. It seemed to be their best chance at survival. Now he and his brother are in charge of a small group of fighters charged with the protection of their cave system.

Personality: Haedirn can be a cheerful person, although countless years of war seemed to have diminished this aspect about him. He enjoys observing, and you can often find him sitting on a ledge watching others. Haedrin isn't afraid of his voice to be heard, he freely speaks his mind; causing many to dislike him. He doesn't like getting close to people, not after the war started. As such, he tends to stay very distant to those he does meet. To the very few people who call him a friend, Haedrin acts as a pillar, willing to go above and beyond to save them.
History: Haedirn has but a few memories of his childhood. And most of those memories a blurr of him not getting along with his family. He has the war to thank for that. Hardirn's family was killed during the war, a scene that often haunts him in his sleep. But his survival wasn't based on his skills as a swordsman, he had Rynkaris to thank for it. And it wasn't going to be the last time he saw Rynkaris either. At the battle of Solsteim, he found himself among the company of Rynkaris again. Here Ryn saved his life, again. But Haedrin didn't get away cleanly this time. He acquired many scars in this battle, the most noted was a scar that ran from his neck up the side of his head. After the Prince fell, Haedrin fled. And he wouldn't see Ryn again for many years.

After Solsteim fell, Haedrin covered his face, hiding the scars that often got him stares or a fight, usually both. From this Haedrin never stayed in one place for more then a few hours. After traveling, well, more like running for his life; for several years, he began to hear whispers of a safe heaven. Tracking down the source of the information, he decided to investigate. But one lead led him to a trap, of which yielded him not only a scar, but partial blindness in his left eye. Half terrified that he couldn't see out of most of his eye, left him wondering about the wilderness until he collapsed. When he woke, he found himself staring at the boots of somebody he might have thought dead - Ryn. From here, Haedrin considered Ryn a friend. And has since become something like a body guard to Ryn.
Weapon: Duel Wielding Swords, Bow/Arrow
Likes: Being Alone, Violence, High Places
Dislikes: Children, Silence, Fighting Amoung Peers
Other: Often has nightmares at night. Usually wakes up screaming.

Luwin, Torraes, & Alta

Name: Luwinthiel (Luwin)
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Appearance: Luwinthiel stands at 5'8'' as an average height. Having been a restless child and often volunteering to do a little extra she is well built and conditioned. Not many would call her graceful, but there is some sort of beauty in the heart she puts in to achieve something. Speaking of which, her complexion is nothing above average, with pale eyes and fair skin, thin lips and a strong jaw line. Her silverish hair is naturally straight and falls down to her lower back, but she keeps it loosely tied behind her in a plait. Her casual wear consists of light shirts with a high collar with darker pants and boots.

Personality: Luwinthiel is not very talkative, even with her closest friends she prefers the silence. She doesn't always share information but she isn't secretive or manipulative for personal gain, and everything she does is for others. She can be unbelievably selfless, but blunt and a little eccentric. She takes some shame in being aloof compared to others, but really doesn't mind what others think about her. Luwinthiel is typically confident in herself, and has no fear of little things like heights or the dark. When she wants something done, she'll find a way. She has no experience of war, but her lateral thinking makes it easy for her to adapt and some may even call her a quick learner. However, she depends more on her feeling than logic, and she questions everything, which had led to some issues in the past.

History: Luwinthiel is typically looked at as a child. She was born much later than those who suffered The Battle of Moesring. Those things were stories to her of a time when the snow elves weren't chained to the caverns. Her father was killed protecting Archer's Hollow, and her mother never returned from the surface, but still she is drawn to it. She quickly learned the art of stealth and cloaking, and often snuck out of the Caverns more than once to observe the world. She never goes far, and doesn't let anyone know she leaves. Her best friends were her familiars, because she could never trust her actual friends not to rat out her ideas. She never truly considered being part of the forces under Rynkaris, although her skills may be useful there, and prefers to do everything on her own.

Weapon: Having not mastered any one form, Luwinthiel typically improvises, but her weapon of choice would be Conjurations, and she picked up war axes when she was sixteen after using one to defend herself against wolves.

Name: Torraes
Age: 269
Gender: Male
Appearance:Torraes is a bit of a lanky man, standing 6'' with only dark hair that falls over one side of his face, that part being to short to fit with the rest of it while it's tied behind him. His complexion consists of harsh white eyes with faded pupils, for he is blind, and sharper features around the cheek bones and brow, but he always wears a smirk or smile. he wears typically a light dark robe, being more obvious with his magic-wielding abilities.

Personality: He's a tad awkward, but brilliant. He has found his own ways to live even when his own eyes turned against him, and refused to give up his study after that. He lost his ambition with his sight, and now claims he can see more. Torres has grown the habit of speaking in riddles even though he may not be as clever as he likes to think. He is extremely arrogant and stubborn and it's very difficult to convince him out of something no matter how dangerous. He seeks knowledge not just for the sake of knowledge, but to use it. He may not be the most athletically capable, but he is strangely sure and natural in his actions.

History: Torraes used to be heavily involved with the war effort, and functioned as a strategist and worked wit the technical things. Ambushes and surprise attacks were his best. He may not be the leader sort but he was behind everything that Rynkaris was not. This pushed a lot of responsibility on him, but he thought he was prepared. After the battle in Solstheim, planning an ambush, Torraes wanted to attack on a vulnerable spot for the Atmorans, although it was risky. His close friends in magic were forced out into the field in order for the plan to work, and Torraes was out there as well, readying his spells. However, one miscalculation led to the downfall of his team, and a burst of magic which was supposed to stun the enemy back fired and caused his blindness. The death of his friends was the last thing he would ever see. It didn't even matter to him if he ever got it back; it was his punishment. He still tries to explain the cost of such ambition to Rynkaris, but has not let his spirit go down. He started using his magic to see, to feel and sense what was around him, mastering Alteration.

Weapon: He can bear weapons, but it's his magic that allows him to do anything. His true weapons are his Alteration and Destruction skills.

Name: Altavja (Alt/Alta)
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Appearance: Altavja is an athletic woman, well conditioned against the harsh environment. She stands 5'6'' with upturned hazel eyes and broad face that gives off the aura of not to be messed with. Her short copper hair typically has a small braid on the side and parted in the middle, and she wears the basic loose fitting tunics or leather armor when hunting or exploring.

Personality: Altavja is a very headstrong and prideful woman, as Atmorans are. She's highly protective and loyal, but simultaneously wild and unpredictable. She's calmed down after becoming a mother, but her child also gives her another reason to stoke the fire in her heart. She is extremely independent, and sticks her neck out for no one. She is not selfish though, simply trying to make it through the world and help her family make it through as well. She's been through all of it, and it's made her stronger, and unfortunately a bit colder, but she had a very big heart and like a stallion she isn't afraid to push it until it bursts.

History: Altavja was raised in a large family, the oldest out five, four younger brothers. They all looked up to her, which may have benefitted to the growth of her leadership characteristics. She led without even knowing it. She was good at anything she wanted to do, other than socializing. All her friends had to accept something about her, be it her recklessness, her outbursts, something. However when she was 17 she found a man who didn't only accept, but understood. She loved him, and married him when she turned twenty. They had their first child, Njall, when she was 21. They were both successful in what they did, until recently when it all started going downhill. Her husband is killed trying to protect their farm from the farmer, and Altavja goes on her own to seek vengeance, as a strong willed woman would. Yet along her journey she found out that it was not the falmer that killed him, but himself. The made the wrong deal wit the wrong people, and those people used the falmer as a scapegoat to raise the efforts of the people living in that area to turn against the elves. Altavja killed those people not so long after. It established her first connections with the elves. She still did not trust them, but she knew more about them and their knowledge and culture just from the incident. After Njall fell ill from an infected wolf bite she had no choice but to return and strike a deal: That she would continue to quiet activists against the falmer and send information if they took care of her daughter, and thats how she ended up where she is now.

Weapon: She is skilled with a bow from hunting for a living, and skilled with daggers.
Likes: Nature, art, writing, exploring
Dislikes: Insults, surprises, lectures

I'm going to say that your characters are accepted, even though some of the parts are a work in progress or are being added to, since we've been discussing them all day and I trust your judgement with the additions. Welcome to the RP!

  • Thank you! Most of the stuff being added are little details so they won't make that big of a difference in the rp, (such as how Alta was raised to believe or what Luwin's familiar would be or if she had/has siblings, etc.) I'm just trying to build the characters more ^^ I'm excited to start rping with you guys!
