Family: Her mother and brother live in the suburbs of the city and call often. Her brother, Nikolai, is only 13 so he stays with Tyren, her mother. Clara’s father walked out on them a few weeks after Nikolai was born. They weren’t soulmates so it wasn’t that big of a surprise. Her mother took up a few more jobs and relied on Clara to help with her brother and the money issue. She still sends money home but she moved out due to the commute that her new better paying jobs took. They were still only a few dollars over minimum wage but it was enough. She liked her job because it was a night position. No one saw her outside of the other employees and they were already used to the blankness of her arms.
Bio: When she was a little girl her mother would tell her stories of the joys of the names that were written on the arms of all adults that surrounded her. She said that with the name came a person and with that person came unconditional love, affection, and acceptance. Someone who perfectly fit her and would be there for her through just about anything. As Clara grew older she fantasized about her soulmate, reading romance novel after romance novel and imagining the perfect man to take her away from the home that was literally falling apart around her. How ironic the world was as she never got a name to show up, she just inherited an aversion to food and an obsessive need for exercise leading up to a massive weight loss over the span of the first year of living alone. Only the beautiful find their soulmates and she knew that only the skinny were beautiful. She was determined.

Home: She lives in the top floor of an old apartment on the southernmost side of town, technically her room was the old maid’s living quarters as the building was over 100 years old. She counted the steps and she could take about 5 long strides from wall to wall not including the closet that held a toilet and a small shower. The sink was in the kitchen that held far outdated appliances, a wood burning stove was one of them. The floor was a water stained tile like material, although she has never been able to determine the exact type used, while the walls held a peiling beige wallpaper that had been darkened by years of smoke damage. She herself didn’t do anything of the sort but she knew the previous owners were heavy smokers as everything was practically stained with the scent no matter how many candles she had constantly lit. She has a window that looks to the building next to hers and her single bed is rested right underneath it, books and plants are splayed everywhere in a sort of makeshift green space.
