Hmmm I'm not sure. I was toying with the idea of shape-shifting into other creatures (though she hasn't used it for battle before? as she usually likes to avoid conflict unless it is inevitable or there is real danger), but I wasn't sure if that was too OP/mary-sue? if that's the correct term for it, or if it'd be special enough to warrant her recruitment... but other than that the only other real special characteristic I had considered was just some sort of extraordinary "creature whisperer"/communicator type thing for lack of a better word/description


I will have to brainstorm (totally open to suggestions guys ), but if nothing really fitting pops up in my head I might just make her an experienced student of the Keep for the sake of this specific RP!

I like the idea of the students sneaking along. Less of a fan of "students are disappearing" idea, though, and not a huge fan of the students becoming chimeras. Maybe we could have creatures disappearing, and the magi they're bonded to no longer being able to sense them? Since the evil magi are doing experiments with creatures, after all.

Hmm I do like that idea, but I think I'd have to come up with a reason for Ariel to sneak along - she's not the over-confident type, she's more the subdued, self conscious, do as you're told type... In my head she has a prior friendship with Lorelei but I'm not sure if l337Lorelei is okay with that hahahaha and there still is the question of what she would actually be able to contribute as far as skill goes once she's with the group too..

I don't mind if Ariel is friends with Lorelei.

A bit cliche, but Lucifer is a good name. And in a world that seems to have no real religion, the name probably still means "Light of the Morning Star."

And maybe Ariel, being all bookish, can find some important information and decide to go chasing after the full magi? And once she reaches them, events have gone sufficiently far south that they decide they can't just send her back alone, and it's better if they keep her around to keep an eye on her. I mean, if Ariel has done enough reading in areas that the full magi have not bothered with (it's my headcanon that all magi read a lot, and Lachesis is particularly fond of reading herself), she'd be plenty useful without technically having an extra ability.

Maybe instead of being a Light Mage (as in, light-elemented), *Lucifer* is a master of runes? And with the runes, he can control all the elements, though his natural element (which he was born with) is light. Compare to Thane, his childhood friend, who is a master of mana--he can bend the world's energy to his will.

What would happen if the baddie's sole purpose was to get revenge against Thane? Or more like, Lucifer's purpose is to get revenge, and everyone else has their own reasons. No chimera, no hidden evil arcane arts. The problem is that then the other magi of the Keep would have nothing to do while our team fought the baddies, since there's no chimeras to keep them busy. So, eh, scratch that.

Now there's the question of, where will the battles take place? On the outskirts of the Keep, or farther--closer to the baddie's HQ or the goodie's?

Looking at our cast right now, it seems that we'll have more goods than bads, and that's perfect! The Keep Magi can team up against the ridiculously overpowered baddies this way, and that solves the problem of how Ariel would survive.

Does anyone mind me possibly taking over the Dark/Poison mage?

I dunno, I actually kind of like the idea of not having chimera Why does the rest of the Keep need to be kept busy, anyway? It could be possible that Thane discovers the plot for revenge but doesn't want people to panic, so he doesn't notify a whole lot of people that he needs help, and then maybe someone accidentally lets slip what's going on to Ariel or something. She could even hear bits from Lorelei and bits from some other magi and put the pieces together.

I was kind of hoping that each goodie would have an epic one-on-one battle with one of the baddies. Or maybe it's like power rangers, where the bad guy gets more powerful when defeated... Or something.


I like the idea of Thane not telling a lot of people, but Ariel hearing the master magi and professors talking, and figuring it out herself.

I like the idea of a few chimeras. I figure they would be really hard to make. And I also don't think that all of the baddies are into making Chimeras, so they might be welcome in the keep.
