Rules to be followed

• 1-Follow all MS and FC Rules
• 2-Follow Lineage Rules
• 3-Be polite & patient
• 4-Rules may change at any time
• 5-Please put an angel smilie in your post so I know you read ALL the rules. That includes the challenge rules.

Lineage Rules

• 1) No Inbreeding
• 2) No Duplicate Names. You can use ctr-f to find out if a name has been used. You may reuse a name if its been 5 generations since its last use.
• 3) Name it something love related.
• 4) No breeding w/other lineages
• 5) DO NOT RELEASE A BABY (send it back to me please!)
• 6) DO NOT FREEZE ANY! It makes me very sad to see these in ANY lineage!

Challenge Rules

• 1-You may request one (1) Lovebird to get you started. Everyone will get varying generations, but I will be keeping track of what generation people get.
• 1a-The most important Lineage rule is rule number five.
• 2-Breed! The challenge will start on February 14th (only a fitting time to start considering the lineage name). Any babies breed before this will be considered invalid.
• 3-When the end of the challenge, I will pm everyone on my list. I would like the challenge to end on July 4th, roughly 5 months after the start of the challenge.
• 4-You are required to make a Lovebird tab so that I can count the babies within these tabs. I need to be sent a link to this tab somehow so that on July 4th, I can count up the number of creatures in the tab.
• 5-Challenge breeding does NOT start until FEBRUARY 14TH! (Valentine's Day!). Any hummers with a birthday starting before this date (spare the starting pet which will be included in the count) will not be counted towards your total Lovebird count!
• 5a-Please put a heart smilie in your post next to the other smilie found in the Rules to be followed section. That will prove to me that you've really read the rules.
• 6-Do not inbreed your Lovebird. Part of this challenge is going to be to get as many SB breeders for your Lovebird. I will be having someone check the pureness of the lineage when the time comes. This will make it so that my announcement of the winners will take a little while longer, but this rule is VERY important to me.
• 7-Name your Lovebird properly! That means with a capital first letter! Please also keep the names appropriate and associated with some concept of love. If you have questions, then please PLEASE ask!
• 8- Do NOT freeze a baby unless you manage to hide it and ask me about it before it is frozen. I realize that some people collect certain percentages, so after the challenge is done, if I say it is alright, you may give that frozen baby away. This means if I find you freezing babies without my consent, you will be disqualified from the challenge. I will not approve of ANY freezing of eggs, only hatchlings.

Most Offspring~

• 1st place - Tinnidawg
• 2nd place - Yunyi
• 3rd place - Kestrad

This will be determined by the tabs everyone has in their keep. I will count up all the Hummers in the tabs, then post the results. Once all creatures have been checked for inbreeding.

Highest Generation~

• 1st place - Tinnidawg
• 2nd place - Yunyi
• 3rd place - Kestrad

I know this is a little harder to be fair on, but that will make those with the lower generations work harder

*~Note~*

• I will be checking the lineage page on July 4th 12:00pm server time to see what the highest generation is, and the number of creatures in the lineage.
• You can win two prizes in this competition, but no more than that (obviously xD).

I am working out the details of the prizes, which will be purchased by Athdraxen (as she owes me shards anyway. When we've worked out exact details, I will post them here.)

This post will be updated every time I send out a starter pet. You can join the lineage contest up until the 10th of February. After that, you are SOL. Any trade with a Lovebird starting baby not completed by midnight server time on February 13th will be automatically disqualified. Sorry, but I think everyone should have an equal chance to participate

While I would prefer that the names stay neutral, however, a couple Lovebirds with names of the same 'theme' won't be a big problem. However, if I see too many it will become something that could turn into a warning under the 'appropriate names' rule.

Do the mates need to have the name theme too?

Possible name list are here, here, here, and here. If you need to googling 'names meaning love' or something to that effect will bring up many more.

Also; Mates can be named whatever you feel necessary to keep track of who is mated with who. So, to answer the question, no, the mates don't need to follow the name theme.

That is fine enough for me. I think so long as you express how the name relates to love, I will be fine with that, since their are only so many names that you can have that are directly associated with love. Pm me any 'odd' names such as this one. Thanks.

You are correct on the names; only the direct decendants need to be named after love themes, and their mates can be named anything, within reason that is (nothing like poop. So long is its normal; Jimmy, Bob or Fran would work for me even {Even 2qxm3 is cool, whatever you need }) If that makes sense, lack of sleep has been cursed upon me latley and that equals little sleepeh And of course, I would love to varify names before you name your babies

nope, you don't have to name the mates. You can do whatever you need, so long as you don't inbreed. So if you can keep them straight without naming them, go for it.

OH, and a note to all, if you want someone to sell hummers to after the contest is done, my friend Gwydion is an avid collector and she would love to buy them off of you all!

I would prefer not, just because of the connotation behind it. I will not ban you from using it, but so long as the rest of the Lovebirds you breed do not all have the same naming scheme, I don't see why not.
