Another day was waning away, slowly and without any progression. The war had come to a temporary standstill - not upon his own request, but his brother's troops had come to a ceasefire, and in turn he had his own do the same. For a while no ground was gained on either side, a fact that both irritated and confused him. Avair had not spoken to his brother face-to-face, not since shortly after the war began. So why? Why were they both waiting?

Avair watched as the storm grew closer from the balcony of his home within Unova. The building was large and easily labeled as a mansion and for good reason too. It didn't just house him, but it provided rooms for those who held a high rank within his military. Often times it was vacant, a sure sign that they were steadily progressing. It seemed much too crowded for Avair's liking now. He would much rather his men and women be out there on the battlefield. Not to meet death, for he could never wish such a fate upon any of the soldiers that chose to fight with him, but to gain ground so that they could finally experience his world. A world of truths - no deceit and no pointless lies.

A large white head snaked around his shoulder, its large blue eyes staring at him intensely and breaking him away from his thoughts. Avair simply stared back for several moments, lost in the dragon's gaze, before settling his hand on Reshiram's cheek. "I won't relax until our world becomes reality," He assured the white beast with soft words, in which he acknowledged with a deep grumble. "I don't know what Callion is planning, or if he's just stalling the inevitable, but we shouldn't be wasting valuable time."

The wind tugged at them, signaling that the storm was growing ever closer. Such thunderstorms reminded him of his brother. It gave him a mixture of emotions - sorrow, guilt, disdain. They had once been close, and he sometimes found himself wishing for those days to return. But that would mean giving up his future and letting all the efforts of him and his men to waste - and there was no way he would allow such a thing.

His icy gaze traveled to a young grunt - no, his men deserved a more honorable title, he was a soldier. "Inform the generals that battle preparations and planning will begin shortly," He instructed, receiving a nod in return. Once he left Avair let out an exhausted sigh. Normally he would have asked for his second-in-command's presence first, but that was a bit difficult to do now. Long story short, he was killed in one of the few scuffles within the past two months during a visit to a squad in Kanto. Now he had to find a replacement, and soon. He was well aware that they had more than one enemy out there.

"How much longer until we get to Cyllage City?"

The question came from Ivory's lips for perhaps the tenth time that morning. She had spent most of the days on the ocean within the boat's cabin, refusing to go out onto the deck unless she was preparing for a flight with Valdus. Though she wouldn't admit it, the idea of spending days on the open ocean terrified her. She would fly great heights in the sky, or brave climbing the tallest of mountains, but she simply could not stand the ocean. She simply was not a water person.

"Shan't be much longer, I'd say," One of the crew members answered. His patience was certainly something to be admired.

Ivory let out a sigh of relief. Finally. She was ready to get off of this damn thing and get on with their mission. The sooner they found Zygarde, the better.

Ah, but only if it were that easy. Kalos was a large region. It was also under the control of one of the brothers - more specifically, Callion. Why couldn't they be looking for the serpent in Hoenn or Kanto, where the brothers had yet to gain total control? Heck, she would have been satisfied with anywhere else that wasn't controlled by the Ideal army.

Of course she knew why they were brought to Kalos. Zygarde was known to inhabit the region. It was just her personal feelings getting in the way. No one would be particularly eager to enter the land of the army that they had deserted, now would they? It wasn't a fact that she openly shared, though it was known by a few members of the Resistance.

It's for the good of the world, She reminded herself. Besides, it wasn't all that bad. Her partner was a goodhearted and powerful trainer, that much was obvious. Wonder what she thinks of me now, Ivory thought - after all, she holed herself up in the cabin of the boat for the past few days.

Callion Cross

Nadia Belrose

Justine Hawkwood

Cylorn Sundash, aka Akaito Janson

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Callion was currently in the Kalos region in his own small home. Unlike his brother, he didn't live with his generals and Second-in-command though they weren't far off from this property just in case of emergency. He had made the war come to a ceasefire and while he was willing to do what it took to achieve his goals of a world of ideals, he knew the threat of Yveltal was coming around with their war. He didn't like fighting his brother in the first place but he didn't have much of a choice. As per his ideals, Truth was most certainly in that world but his brother refused to accept any sort of alliance, believing his ideals to be lies.
He sighed at this as he stood on his porch, watching the sky. It was a nice morning and the breeze from the nearby sea was quite nice. He frowned and glanced out at the small amount of the Kalos region he could see from his viewpoint on the mountain he had decided to place this residency on. It was a strategic location in case of an attack and it helped provide the isolation he liked so much.
A large and majestic black figure soon landed in front of his house and gave a curious and small cry to him, his red eyes staring down at the young man who looked back up at him. A silent exchange seemed to go between them before he shook his head. "No... I haven't given up on my ideals... I simply would rather the world not be destroyed by Yveltal. As powerful as you are, it would destroy all life as we know it before we can get a chance to fight it and with Avair and us as enemies, we wouldn't stand a chance against it," he replied to the large electric and dragon legendary, making him give a quiet grunt of begrudging compliance though he glanced off towards the Unova region where they both knew Avair was staying.
Callion looked with him but shook his head. "I just wish my brother could see that truth and ideals can coexist," he sighed, patting his legendary friend's knee (since they were so much bigger) before moving off back into his home. He still had some of his generals off in the other region he controlled; Johto. He also had a few stationed in Kanto and Hoenn with troops, hidden for now and simply not allowing Avair to gain anymore land in either region. He knew his brother would get impatient sooner or later and launch an attack so he had already set up defensive counters for such an attack.
He picked up a book he had yet to finish reading from a table, flipping to the page he had left off on. He was still thinking about talking to his brother one more time, face-to-face. It had been a few years since they had last seen each other as such. But he wasn't sure how his brother would react to it. It would probably be best to go alone but he knew his second-in-command may not let him. He glanced to Zekrom who peeked inside from a nearby window, his eye taking it up completely. "What do you think? Do you think he'll listen?" he asked. Zekrom gave a soft cry with a shake of his head. "Well, it's worth a shot either way. But I think I'll let him come to me," he replied. The black dragon gave an acknowledging nod before taking flight once more into the sky.
Callion simply went back to reading his book now, reading it while he decided what to expect from his brother in the case of an attack here.
Justine had quite the patience herself to deal with Ivory's constant nagging on how much longer it would be until they got to Cyllage City. While she knew that the woman was a powerful trainer like herself, she knew there were weaknesses one couldn't stand. Her's happened to be great heights and while she had more or less managed to overcome it, that was only if it was during an adrenaline filled situation. Otherwise, she couldn't stand heights and they made her dizzy. Thankfully so long as she had a barrier between herself and said height when in a 'normal' situation, then she was alright.
She glanced out at the ocean, her Lucario, Acera, out by her side, her hair and Acera's fur gently blown by the calm breeze. They would train sometimes on the boat with each other to pass the time since, unlike Ivory, they only had the boat to occupy their time. She just couldn't wait to make landfall herself however but it was in the case of finding Zygarde to bring peace to this land as soon as possible. As much as she didn't want to fight violence with more violence, it was the only way she could see possible despite the current ceasefire in the war.
Justine looked over to where she saw Ivory was talking to a crew member and finally the answer came that they both had been waiting for. She smiled and finally moved over to them though Acera stayed to look out at the ocean still. Unfortunately, Justine didn't know either what was truly going on with Ivory. She was never let in on the fact that Ivory had been in the Ideal army before joining the Resistance. "So, excited to finally be making landfall so we can find Zygarde?" she asked as she came over, having heard her sigh of relief.
Nadia was currently holed up in her own room, bored as could be, even moreso with the fact there was a ceasefire going on. She groaned, putting her head back as Zephyr, her Charizard companion, just huffed a laugh. "Yea yea, laugh it up buddy. I just want Avair to get us back on the battlefield already. I don't even know why he encouraged this ceasefire for the past couple months in the first place," she grumbled to her old friend.
Zephyr just snorted and shook his head but soon there was a knock on her door. Zephyr, being closest, opened the door with a curious growl, almost frightening the soldier a moment before he composed himself. He looked inside to where Nadia sat boredly, a nervous clearing of his throat heard. "Ma'am, Lord Avair has told me to inform the Generals that battle preparations and planning will begin shortly," he informed with a tip of his hat in respect.
Nadia jumped up at this. "About damn time that son of a b***h got off of his ass and decided to end this ceasefire," she groaned though she looked to Zephyr. "Get my armor and meet me at the planning room," she told him before looking to the soldier. "You, go pass the word," she shooed him off. He immediately nodded and hurried off to do as told before she followed out the door and moved off but instead of heading to the planning room right now, she was heading to intersect with Avair, knowing just where he'd be.
"AVAIR!" she shouted, her yell long heard before he'd even seen her as she came to the balcony he was standing on. Despite the picking up storm, she stepped out onto the balcony with him. "Finally taking my advice into consideration?" she asked, reminding him of when she had told him, nearly three weeks ago, that they should strike Callion's forces while they're least expecting it, which was during the ceasefire. While she knew the Ideals brother was cunning, he probably wouldn't fully expect his first attack to be on one of his own regions, the Kalos region. His troops were spread to the other three continents to try and make sure his brother didn't take them over during the ceasefire so it could be an easy opportunity to gain some ground in Kalos where his brother resided.
"AVAIR!"
Avair settled his hand on his head, gripping his hair and letting out a sigh at the sound of his name. That woman couldn't just wait until the meeting to confront him, could she? As she approached the balcony he didn't so much as look at her. The only gesture he made to acknowledge her presence was turning his head slightly.
Both he and Reshiram had grown used to the woman's presence. While any soldier that dared to come within a few feet of the brother while the white beast was around earned a growl of protest, he had practically given up on driving Nadia away - the only person who wasn't so intimidated by him. Whether that was a good or bad thing, he had yet to decide. Reshiram glanced at her, his gaze searching her for only a few moments before returning to the darkened horizon.
"As much as I hate to pull something like this, yes. This ceasefire only worries me," He answered simply but gave little signs of liking towards the plan. Yes, he would do what he needed to win this war, but taking his brother by surprise on his lands was dangerous. While his troops had undoubtedly been divided between claimed and neutral territories, it was still the land in which his brother chose to inhabit - and because of that it would still be guarded heavily. Word of their plans couldn't spread, or else it could lead to even more casualties.
"I won't spoil the surprise entirely," Avair continued, finally looking at Nadia, "But you'll be on of the commanders going there. I'm sure you'll ensure our success?"
There was a knock on the door before the same young man from earlier entered. He stood at attention and saluted, before Avair gave him permission to stand at ease. "Sir, the generals have been informed and will be making their way to the Conference room momentarily." With a curt nod Avair dismissed him. The brother looked up just as it began to drizzle and thunder crashed in the distance.
A low rumble came from Reshiram's throat as he looked at the brother, meeting the man's own icy gaze. For a few moments they watched each other in silence, before Avair nodded and the dragon took off and flew out of sight, likely to find shelter from the storm.
"I suppose we shouldn't keep them waiting. Shall I escort you to our destination, m'lady," He asked with a strong edge of sarcasm in his voice. He was already dressed in his armor, which was a very light silver in coloration and fit to his form, suggesting that it was lighter in weight.
____________
Ivory leaned back on her hands as Justine approached. By the way she smiled she figured that her partner was just as relieved to finally be hitting land as she was, though she didn't doubt it was for different reason. Other than being a bit bored, she didn't seem as fazed by the boat as Ivory was. She figured the only worry she had was whether they would find Zygarde in time or not. Of course that was just one of the many worries that Ivory has stacked on her shoulders. She wasn't sure if Justine was aware of her history or not, but if she was she didn't exactly show or question it.
"Absolutely ecstatic," She answered with an edge of sarcasm. But then her relief really showed, bringing a relieved smile to her face. "I'm just glad we can finally make some progress. I've felt completely useless just sitting on this thing for days," She continued more more cheerfully and seriously.
It wasn't long before the beaches of Cyllage City came into view, making Ivory's heart beat just a bit faster at the sight. They won't recognize her, she probably wouldn't even see anyone she was stationed with - that was what she told herself. However, she still took some precautions and pulled her hood over her head. Luckily it wasn't too warm out - there was a cool breeze that, while she was still comfortable with the temperature, might bring some chills to someone who was more used to the weather. And luckily for them, they were 'tourist' from Hoenn that were coming to see the beautiful cities of Kalos. Her Pokemon remained in their pokeballs. She wanted to attract as little attention as possible, and while her pidgeot might be a common sight, Sceptile were a bit more of an unusual sight in Kalos.
Just before they docked the captain left his post, heading towards the two girls. He was an older man with graying hairs in both his hair and stubby beard, but he still had the charming look that suggested he was from Kalos. The man was undoubtedly a lucky find for the Resistance, since he was a fairly well-known sailor from the region. "You ladies best be careful out there, you here," He advised in a tone that resembled that of a father's, "Don't go out causin' some unnecessary ruckus. If word gets out that yur part of us, you might get a couple soldiers chasing your tails. 'N good luck, we're all relying on you."
Yeah, no pressure. It's only the fate of the world that is at stake.
Ivory smiled and nodded, "Thank you sir."
Then she turned to Justine, an eager smile still playing on her lips. For whatever reason it felt like her first day as a Pokemon trainer all over again. Despite her nervousness, she was eager and ready for the adventure. "You ready?"
___________
The wind whipped at Lance furiously as he leaned into Talon's back. It was a bit chilly, especially at this height, but nothing that made the man too uncomfortable. He practically ignored the cold air that nipped at his skin - the enjoyment of flying kept his mind off of it for the most part. They had arrived back at the Kalos region only two hours ago, after he had taken a visit to do a checkup on the Brigades stationed in the Kanto region, where he learned a bit of interesting news just as he was departing the region.
In the distance he saw a familiar house, where a large black figure was leaving. He couldn't see a figure on the Pokemon's back, so he figured that Callion was still home, perhaps reading a book or trapped within his own thoughts. Perfect timing, Lance thought with a faint smile.
Talon flew down to the house, landing neatly on the railing of the porch. Hopping off of the large bird, Lance landed smoothly and patted the Pokemon's side. "Thanks buddy." The Braviary coo'd and ruffled his feathers, making himself comfortable.
Peeking in through the open doors, Lance spotted the figure that was Callion predictably reading a book. He tapped gentle on the side of the house, signaling that he was coming in. "Why aren't I surprised," Lance mused as he stepped in, giving a polite bow as he usually did when he came across someone of higher authority - or rather, Callion. It was a habit he learned as a child and never bothered to break.
"My apologies for not giving you a report sooner. My Holo Caster dropped into the ocean while I was flying, as soon as I left Kanto," He continued, chuckling softly. Ah, he was never good with keeping any kind of electronics in one piece.
His tone grew slightly more serious. "But I'm here now, with a bit of interesting news. You remember the scuffle that was reported a while ago, between one of our Kanto Platoons and your brother's? One of our spies confirmed that Avair's second-in-command died from his injuries. But since then there hasn't been any issues with them. I realize that we're at a ceasefire now, especially because of Yveltal. But aren't you a bit worried? It's giving Avair time to plan, and I don't doubt that his deputy's death upset him." Chances were that Avair knew little of their war disturbing Yveltal's slumber. It held back Callion, but there was nothing to discourage his brother at this point.
Lance thought for a moment. "There were also a few reports on sightings of those peacemakers. Some guys had the Xerneas symbol on them. But that was all they were, sightings. Seems like they've spread from Hoenn to Kanto though."
Callion, though usually entranced in a book, still had more or less a focus on his surroundings, not so much sight as everything else. So when the knock on the side of his house came, he glanced up from his book to see his deputy at the door. He just rolled his eyes at the comment about not being surprised he was found reading a book, saving the page once more and placing it down on the table beside his chair. By now he was used to the bowing and never bothered to correct his polite demeanor. It wasn't like it was a major thing anyway.
"Yes and why aren't I surprised you dropped your Holo Caster in the ocean?" he mused, stating more than asking as he got out another Holo Caster and tossed it to his deputy as he gave his report, listening intently now as he leaned forward, elbows on his knees as he watched him with his usual gaze, that one that seemed to pierce right through you to see your true intentions. It was one that unnerved many people but he couldn't help that gaze; it was one that came over him when he was in deep thought and observation.
Callion sat back after a moment more of staring at Lance when he was done speaking, a thoughtful look on his face. Finally he put his thoughts into words as he looked back to Lance. "Yes, it's giving him time to plan and I understand he must be upset about his deputy's death but my brother isn't rash nor would he be willing to end a ceasefire by his own actions though I must imagine his generals are restless and eager for a fight... my brother wouldn't have been planning much during this time though that one General of his might have... Nadia Belrose... she's always been a thorn in our side," he murmured, picking up a tiny, plastic statuette of Reshiram from the table beside him as he fiddled with it in his one hand in thought, staring at the piece.
"As for the 'peacemakers', I don't see them as much of a trouble. Let them do what they're up to. I have no need to fight people who are simply wanting the world as we wish it to be. Except my brother's stubborn nature is preventing that. He would be their real enemy," he mused, placing the Reshiram plastic statuette back down and looking back at Lance. "In either case, we should call back a platoon or two from Kanto... we may need to reinforce Kalos... and make sure they arrive in small groups and in disguise as to not arouse suspicion. They'll know the code," he informed, putting his hands together, always ever calculating. "As for our spies, see what information they can't glean from gossip about what Avair's next possible moves are, if any. His men, after all, would know their leaders best," he added on as another order.
Callion then thought for a moment curiously. "Oh and about the Resistance... when you have the time, see if you can't make it possible to have a spy infiltrate them. I'm truly curious as to what their plans are," he mused with a tilt of his head. The Resistance, while not an enemy in his eyes, was still a possible threat and he simply wanted to know what they were up to, nothing more.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Nadia simply looked to the Legendary Reshiram when he looked at her. The reason she actually wasn't intimidated by the large Pokemon was because she had always admired him in the legends about him. She had admired him and his hero. Her desire for this world of truth stemmed from her past. However, she knew mistakes could be made and in her own way was testing Reshiram's choice as well as the Legendary himself. Because of her past, even with the legends, she always found herself distrusting of people's words for they were just that: words. So she had come to test them both to see for herself what they were like, even if it could possibly earn her a burn or two. It would be nothing new to her since she was always putting herself in harm's way for a child or Pokemon.

She looked back at Avair as Reshiram looked back to the stormy horizon, unphased by the oncoming storm, or seemingly so at least. While she appeared fearless, thunderstorms just weren't her thing. Another reason she choose Reshiram over Zekrom for her favorite. She would never admit nor show her fright of thunderstorms (even though the only thing that frightened her about it was the thunder; silly, she knew and it was why she was able to resist showing her fear though her fear never went away).

"Of course you don't but we all know wars aren't won with truth alone, sadly enough," she sighed. It was the unfortunate truth about wars was that wars weren't won with truth. At last, not this day and age's wars. She listened to Avair, intent as usual on his response. While she always seemed to disrespect authority, she did pay her respects in little ways like listening to them when they spoke and considering what they spoke instead of in one ear and out the other. Unfortunately no one appreciated the little things anymore so she always came off as rude and disrespectful.

She was, however, a slight bit surprised to have been chosen as one of the commanders. She, of course, ust smirked at the reply on the end and saluted in a serious manner. "Of course, sir," she mused, knowing her own wits could match Callion's well enough to make him lose some battles.

Nadia was a little annoyed at the interruption by the soldier though as he looked at him boredly, waiting for him to leave. As he did, it began to drizzle and she couldn't help but look up with Avair before giving an unnoticeable wince at the thunder in the distance as she glanced out to the thunder before the flap of the great Reshiram's wings as he flew off drew her attention back to Avair as he asked to escort her. She couldn't help but scoff, not so much at the sarcasm as she did at the complete politeness of Avair, sarcastic or not. It wasn't something she would be able to take seriously either way but she played along simply to repay Avair for taking her thoughts into consideration.

"Of course, m'lord," she replied in an equally sarcastic tone. Of course, to add onto the sarcasm, she smirked and hooked her arm in his with her usual cocky attitude. Her attitude was most certainly unbecoming of her attire considering it consisted of a white blouse with smooth black stretch pants and black low-heel dress shoes. For now anyway. She would be changing once she met with Zephyr at the conference room.

Her sarcastic remark was expected, though he was a bit surprised when Nadia hooked her arm in his and continued to play along. He managed to hide his surprise, however, and just played along with what he had started. The sight itself looked rather silly considering the attire. Avair looked the part and acted the part now - a habit of his, really. While he found very few women that caught his eye, he did try to act like a gentleman, despite how much he intimidated other people.

As they neared the conference room a large figure with black fur appeared around the corner, stopping only for a moment to take in the sight of her trainer and his company. She then bounded towards the two, circling around Avair before nudging herself between them with a short growl. Avair eyes softened at the sight of Arian, a wholehearted laugh escaping his lips as he dropped his arm, instead settling it on the Luxray. Such a jealous Pokemon, though he couldn't entirely blame her. She was one of his oldest companions and had been at his side long before he even met Reshiram.

Realizing he had lost his composure, he quickly regained it and cleared his throat. Arian, now content that she had his attention, kept pace with him while a deep purr resonated from her throat.

His face hardened once more as he opened the door to the conference room. All of the generals that were still within the area were there already, a sight that would be a bit less uncommon before the death of his deputy, his second-in-command. He had certainly taken notice of the fact that some of them had begun sucking up a bit more, though he paid little attention to it. What mattered was that they still got their job done as usual.

His gaze flickered to Nadia for but a moment. Yes, most of the generals were sucking up and trying. Very few chose to go about as they usually did, mostly those that held little interest in the position. But this girl confused him. She was never a kiss-a*s, nor did she become one. In fact, he swore she would sometimes try to get under his skin just for the heck of it. Taking her advice into consideration wasn't something he enjoyed doing, yet even now he ended up doing just that. She got to him in ways that he hated, but she sure as he** knew how to get things done, and get them done right.

Avair made his way to the center of the room where there was a desk. With the simple switch of a button a holographic map of Kalos appeared. He peered at each of his generals with an expression that was impossible to read. There was a total of 11 generals within the room at the moment. The rest were stationed elsewhere, much too far to come to a meeting within a reasonable amount of time.

"As you all know, we have been at a ceasefire with Callion's army for several months now. What his intentions are still unknown, though it has been decided that we will not wait to find out," He began, his voice all-business, "A plan has been devised. Their troops are undoubtedly prepared for an attack at any time. Their numbers are greatest in Hoenn and Kanto, where they would expect us to strike first."

Using his finger, he rotated the map so that the western end of Kalos was facing the generals. "Rather than hitting a neutral region, we will instead attack where they least expect it, and where it would hit them the hardest. We will attack the Coastal region of Kalos, more specifically between routes 9 and 11. If we gain control of Cyllage City and Ambrette Town then we can cut off a good amount of their imports from the other regions. There will be five companies -" He named three of the two, assigning a single commander for each, "-and as for Cyllage City, it is most important that we gain control of that city and its ports. Nadia will be taking command over both companies. I will also be there, though I will be keeping watch over each company."

Normally he wouldn't have involved himself in the battle itself, but this was his brother's territory. If word got out fast enough his brother might be there within minutes, and he was very well aware that even with the number of men he had, they wouldn't stand a chance against the legendary Zekrom. No, he would be there to protect them. "I want no less than 200 soldiers for each company. If we manage to gain control of the area, we will need as many soldiers as we can get to defend it. I want your men and boats prepared for departure within 36 hours. Now, are there any questions? If not, then you are dismissed."

Lance easily caught the Holo Caster, a lazy grin stretching across his lips as he tucked it into his pocket. The man's gaze didn't bother him - not as much as it once did, at least. He had grown used to Callion's gaze, so it didn't unnerve him anymore.

As his leader spoke he prepared a mental list of things to do and notes. Well, he does know his brother best, Lance thought as he explained that Avair wouldn't act rashly despite his deputy's death. He scowled at the mention of one of Avair's generals. He had come into contact with her only once before, shortly after he had become a general himself. She was certainly something to be admired and someone to take caution around.

The topic of the peacemakers was thought shortly of. He doubted it really mattered to them who their real enemy was, the fact that mattered was that there were two sides initiating war with a goal in mind to change the world. Even if Callion's views were less forced, it was likely that they were still considered an enemy in their eyes.

The removal of some troops from Kanto was a potentially dangerous decision, though Lance trusted that Callion knew what he was doing. He had let him down very few times before. Still, he felt a bit uneasy about leaving Kanto less protected. As long as they did it without notice, however, they should be fine - unless the other brother chose to make that his first target to begin the war once again.

"I will see to it that your orders are carried out immediately," Lance assured, although he found himself to be a bit surprised when he mentioned the last bit about the Resistance, "And I will make sure that our available spies are assigned their new job and begin immediately as well."

Hesitating for just a moment, Lance decided to pry into the man's thoughts a bit, along with give a bit of his input. "Do you really believe he would attack Kalos? We will be in all kinds of trouble if he does. Bringing the fight to these lands..it could be the breaking point of Yveltal's slumber."

Callion watched Lance a moment before sighing and leaning back in his chair at the mention of Yveltal and what could happen if Avair came here. "To be quite honest, Lance... and considering the fact Avair doesn't know about Yveltal, I can entrust this information with you... I'm hoping he will attack here. For one he would expect us to not expect it but it's my hope he does. He would come with his troops to oversee the takeover of the ports to cutoff our supplies. If he does personally come, then I can come face-to-face with him to let him know about Yveltal..." he informed, not letting him know of the other hope that lingered in his heart.

He nodded in thought at the last point with a sigh. "Yes... if he brings the wars to these shores, yes, it could very likely awaken Yveltal. If it comes to a point where Avair will keep to his stubborn nature, we'll have no choice but to give Kalos to him... I won't risk awakening Yveltal. I can't. There wouldn't be life left to create our ideal world..." he informed softly, picking up the statuette of Reshiram once more and twirling it between his fingers. It was not an idea he liked at all but it was a necessary idea.

"If that happens Lance, we're pulling all of our troops here to Hoenn. We'll take over the neutral region to tip the scales and move onto Sinnoh to take it from my brother. We will have to be quick and precise to take control of Sinnoh from my brother as well as gain a neutral territory so only the best will do for those battles if he doesn't leave us a choice. Avair won't be expecting me to completely surrender Kalos to him so the element of surprise will be at our back," he informed.

He really did not like this position one bit. He had hoped his brother would keep to the ceasefire long enough for him to figure out a way to see him face-to-face to tell him about Yveltal but it seemed he would either have to let Avair's spies know but letting his soldiers in on the news about Yveltal or let him take Kalos. It was unlikely he would believe it either way unfortunately but he could try. "Also... I don't want Yveltal kept under wraps with the soldiers any longer... I want what we know about Yveltal's slumber to spread through the ranks. Hopefully he'll have a spy we haven't rooted out yet that will pick it up and relay it to him. I highly doubt it will work and may only cause worry and panic with our soldiers but I will be joining them on the battlefield should he come to Kalos and for the battles after that if I'm forced to surrender that. After hearing about Yveltal, they will need Zekrom's and mine presence with them," he added, sitting back once more.

"However, if you have any input on this, I wouldn't mind hearing any of it. This is a situation I was hoping to not have... call it naivety that I have hope that my brother will stop being stubborn and we can cease this senseless fighting but we were close once, as hard as that is to believe... I just want him to see that Truth and Ideals can go together," he sighed, putting his head in his hands. This ideal, unfortunately, was beginning to cloud his judgement. He knew that. He couldn't even trust himself anymore. He didn't really have anyone in the first place except his brother and his Pokemon. It had always been the two of them against the world. And then this... he believed in both Truth and Ideals. Both were needed to create a unified world, his ideal world. But his brother just couldn't listen... he never could. Not to his own twin.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nadia was also surprised that Avair continued to play along even after their banter was done. She rolled her eyes before noticing the Arian, his Luxray, come over to the two and force them apart. She honestly was glad the jealous Pokemon had done so otherwise things would get awkward quick if they walked into the room like that.
Her own Pokemon, her Charizard Zephyr, was there with her armor and she smiled gently at her old-time friend before regaining her own composure, looking to Avair who had let out a laugh at the jealous Luxray and it was all she could do to keep from giving a wide smile at their bond. Pokemon had always held a soft spot in her heart and Avair's didn't count any less for that, or any trainer's for that matter. They both had their own image to maintain though and she kept close to Zephyr, thanking him before moving away to a nearby room.
She opened the door and stepped inside, locking it behind her before changing into the armor he'd brought her. It was her platinum colored armor, the armor she wore in battle. It was the usual and she was dressed quickly in it. She came back out of the room and patted her old buddy on his head with a coo and smile before then slippin quickly into the conference room right after Avair had entered. His gaze had flicked to her but she cared little, giving him simply a smug smirk that he was taking her advice into consideration.
Nadia took her seat in the conference room as the holo table lit up with a map of Kalos. Zephyr stood guard next to her like he belonged there, which he did. She leaned forward as Avair began to speak now, listening curiously to his plan and intent. She was surprised that she would be taking over two companies though not surprised she would be a part of the force taking over Cyllage.
A few murmurs had risen up when she was mentioned to take over two companies in Cyllage City, mostly the start of rumors before they shut up as he continued to talk. On Nadia's part, she didn't like the idea Avair would be there. If Callion did happen to show up and use Zekrom, if the two dragon Pokemon clashed...
That was really her only concern. While Callion was a calculating and calm leader like Avair but involved more time in his planning, she still wouldn't put it passed Callion to use Zekrom if he truly felt the need. If he did, Reshiram would surely intercept and in the heat of the moment, battle would ensue. She was worried of the effects the clash could have.
While she understood the danger Zekrom presented to the companies, she also understood the danger if they clashed and she knew that just as Avair cared about his own soldiers, so did Callion. Then again, it could be used as an idea to force him to retreat. She hummed in thought a moment. It would be a very risky move though... she simply had to have hope that Callion held to his nature.
When no one had questions, everyone stood up to leave with a salute to Avair. Nadia stood up and watched everyone leave before she looked to Avair. "I trust you'll remember if it comes to it what will happen if Zekrom and Reshiram clash?" she asked.
Avair watched as the generals left to ready themselves and their men. This would be the perfect opportunity for them to stand out, or so he thought. Good, it will allow them to do their best and encourage their soldiers even more. That's what we need right now.
Though it was no surprise, he noticed that Nadia had stayed behind and waited for the others to leave. He knew her question before it had even come out of her mouth - it was only expected that someone would bring it up.
His eyes grew cold as he looked at Nadia, hiding his disgust at the question. Yes, this was one of the ways that she managed to get under his skin. "Do not think of me ask a fool, Nadia. I know very well what will happen if a battle between them occurs - I'm not so lacking on my knowledge in history, nor am I oblivious to my companion's power," He defended himself with a tone that equally matched his icy gaze, "I trust my brother is just as aware. My intentions are not to fight the battle myself, and I won't intervene unless I'm forced to. I will only be there to make sure that everything is carried out smoothly and that my brother doesn't interfere with Zekrom."
Callion. He wouldn't be surprised if his brother came and tried to settle their dispute with words once again. Ideals and truths were meant to coexist to create a perfect world, or so his twin claimed. But how was that possible? An ideal world would be full of lies! They would conjure excuses and reassuring words to cover up the faults of the world. Avair knew that from experience. He was once the one that would create excuses to reassure him and his brother.
Their mother only put them down because she was confused, she didn't really mean it. She had only left for a short while to get a bit of stress off her shoulders. She would return soon, she just caught up with something. The only reason they hadn't seen her was because she didn't know where they were, since they were requested to leave their home. She would find them and take them back to a new home, one that was bigger and better.
No, the simple fact was that they were unwanted by even their own parents and abandoned, orphaned. They were helpless children at the time, but they were treated like sewer Rattata. The excuses that he dished out only made it so much worse, and he only ended up hurting himself with his very own lies. The fact was that it was only him and his brother against the world.
Of course time went on and they had eventually gathered enough money to get a small home and begin their lives. Yet he wouldn't settle for just that. He needed to make a difference. That was when he left to find Reshiram. This was a world tainted by lies that were made to shape and form its inhabitants, an everlasting deception. No, he couldn't allow that. It allowed false hope which, while it could serve as a great weapon, it also served as a destroyer. The truth could hurt, but in the end it would result in better outcomes. Reality would actually be real - no fake hopes or characters to cause an even greater pain that only lies could create.
When he learned that his brother disagreed with his world of truths and befriended Zekrom, he felt betrayed. Why couldn't Callion see what he saw? They had been through everything together, and now they were enemies within a war.
"I won't endanger my men with my own actions, I promise you that," He finished a bit more softly, the cold edge fading from his tone.
______________
Lance listened to Callion's words to the end, interrupting not even once as he took in what he said. He clenched his jaws, bit his cheek until it bled, clenched his hands - all habits that he had when he was upset, and the only way he kept himself from interrupting his leader's words. Only after he was given the 'okay' to put his input in did he speak.
"With all due respect, sir, you're playing a game of chance at this point. I can't claim to know your brother more than you do, but even so I can already bet my money on the outcome of this. It's a battle of words that you're relying on, Callion. One that you know you will probably lose. Avair is the pursuer in this war, and as he sees it, you're no longer his brother - you're an enemy. I'm not sure what went on between you two as children, or what you went through, but obviously it was something that broke him and his ability to trust others. So why would he trust his enemies, the people that would be the most likely to lie and deceive him?"
"Along with that, losing Kalos will have a big impact on us in that short time frame before we gain control of Hoenn. Our numbers will drop, as will our income with the loss of a large exporter of goods. I realize we can make up for that if we can manage to gain total control of the Hoenn region, but you're still trusting Kalos to your brother. Yveltal isn't in the Hoenn region, he's here. By giving away our land you're entrusting that your brother won't release that bird of war. We can't risk much more battle on these lands. The people here have been under your control for long enough that they've grown faithful to you. If his soldiers take over, there's the risk of civil war breaking out."
Lance tried his best to keep his tone calm, and for the most part succeeded. However, it was his words that conveyed his irritation more than anything. While he was trying to look at it from the view of a leader, he was also mixing his own feelings into the matter. After all, Geosenge was his hometown, and his family still lived there. The last thing he wanted was for Avair's army to take control of the land he was born and raised on.
With a sigh Lance settled his hand on the back of his head, thinking for a few moments to himself. "I apologize. You're a leader that I will follow to the ends of the world, Callion. I wouldn't put the amount of trust I have in you upon anyone else. I only hope that it isn't your personal feelings that are leading you to this decision."
Ah, but he was being hypocritical, wasn't he? Just now he had poured an ounce of his personal interests in his protests. Yes, he had a younger sister that he wanted to protect more than anything, because she was the last of his blood that still cared for him. He didn't doubt that Callion would still have some personal desire to bring back the bond he had with his brother, even if they were enemies now.
(( Oh god it's too late for me to be writing. Sorry for any mistakes, it's 1AM and I'm dead tired at the moment. :t-sleep: ))
Callion listened to Lance's words, knowing he spoke truth. From the moment he had decided to find Zekrom, it broke his brother's trust in him. At first he had only wanted to do it because he wanted to feel he belonged somehow. He had always felt under his brother, twins or not. Avair had always been the big brother and he just wanted to feel he belonged. He had wanted his brother to know he could rely on him but it seemed he took everything he had done out of context. It just made him retreat even more into an introvert, more than he was with his brother. It was why only Lance was ever able to visit him in his personal home.
"Says the one whom put a bit of their own personal feelings into their response," he mused at the end with a small chuckle. He knew about the male's home in Geosenge and who was there. It was another reason he was concerned about Yveltal's awakening. However, unlike what he was thinking, his brother would never dare use the legendary, not with the tales that surrounded it.
He looked at Lance once more, the Reshiram statuette in his hand. "You're right though... we can't give up Kalos to him... so what do you suggest we do when he does come to our shores? Because I know a big battle such as this, he would come with his soldiers and with Reshiram to make sure I don't interfere with Zekrom," he informed. "He knows I wouldn't dare risk a battle between the two legendaries... if the two of them clashed here for even a short time as a way of finding out who's the 'chicken', it will most certainly awaken Yveltal," he sighed.
"Unfortunately though, yes... my feelings are getting in the way, Lance... but I can't help it. I guess you can only understand it from my perspective so let's just say it used to be just the both of us against the world, practically quite literally," he explained, staring at the Reshiram statuette. All he wanted was to feel he could make a difference with his brother... and while he was willing to do what it took for him and Zekrom to create their world, he wanted Avair a part of it. Those were ideals... ideals weren't lies and oddly enough, ideals were always misunderstood as to what they truly were.
Ideals were truths that were to be gained. Goals to reach that seemed impossible. A world of hope and unity. A world where anything could be made possible if one put their mind to it, one where people like him and his brother, how they used to be, could be accepted and loved by someone, even if not their own parents. A world that cared for each other and trusted each other. A world akin to how trainers and Pokemon lived in such harmony yet it was for people everywhere. It wasn't a lie and he knew that because he had his brother to love him then, even if they had no one else.
Was he lonely? Yes... he wasn't used to being completely alone. He may have allies and people to rule but that didn't mean he had close people he considered friends. While he knew Lance had been a great Deputy, because of their past and what Avair did to him, he felt it hard to trust anyone, even his own brother anymore. If his brother could turn on him so easily, he felt anyone could. It was why he never put passed his brother the likeliness of spies and the like. Because while his brother sought after a world of truth, not even his own twin brother could trust him. So how could he create a world of truth if he could see his own brother no longer trusted him or if he couldn't see what ideals truly were? Callion believed in Avair, yes... trusted him, however, no.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Nadia just stared down at Avair with an arched brow. "So what will you do, then, if he does decide to intervene with Zekrom?" she asked, not actually knowing that Callion preferred words over what was going on between them. She didn't know Callion like Avair did and never even seen them encounter each other face-to-face during the war. She knew they were brothers but she knew Callion's tactics usually easily and in her opinion, she wouldn't put it passed his brother to intervene with Zekrom out of a care for his people, that much she at least knew about the Brother of Ideals, or so she thought.

She had actually hoped Avair to stay away from Kalos because of that. And while she trusted Avair, she did not trust Callion. "You may trust Callion, Avair, but this is war... you can't trust your enemy, especially one who doesn't believe in the truth as you do," she informed. "I may not know him like you do but it is war and it is his people. Coward he could sometimes be but this could tip him to join the fray with Zekrom fully... or do you have a plan to incapacitate the legendary?" she asked, curious now. She had thought of a few ways herself though she didn't know that Callion also had his very own Pokemon. He came to a battle so few times, usually without Zekrom or any Pokemon for that matter.

She just shrugged. "I'm just saying to take everything into account. Your brother seems to do that. He doesn't seem to trust you as far as he can throw you," she mused. "I would never think you'd put your people in danger and while I act rude to you, you do have my trust," she murmured before smirking. "But don't let that get to your head because trust you I may, I will still be an ass if I have to towards you," she warned.

{Lol well this is really getting to be a sappy story. x3 When should we bring back in Justine and Ivory? :3}

Amusement shone in his eyes for a moment at Nadia's last statement, though it vanished almost as quickly as it had come. He thought about her words. What was his plan if Callion decided he had enough and chose to go the offensive with Zekrom? Avair wouldn't just sit and watch as his army was destroyed. No, he would take matters into his own hands.

How well did he really know his brother? He knew everything about him as children, but people changed over time - especially if they were in a state of war and two opposing leaders. These past few years could have changed him drastically.

"If something does happen and my brother does choose to intervene and participate in the battle, then I will distract him. Battle may or may not be necessary, but as long as one of us don't draw out Reshiram or Zekrom's full power, there shouldn't be too much devastation," Avair finally decided, "If we do end up in battle, I expect that you will get the troops away from Kalos. You will retreat and we will return here to think up a new strategy."

"Unless you having else in mind," He added begrudgingly, though his curiosity wouldn't allow him to not ask. It was perhaps the first time he willingly asked for her input, rather than her just giving it to him even if he said no. "However, I will be going no matter what. If I don't then I fear I will lose hundreds of troops and some of my best generals to my brother. Even together as an army, I doubt you could do very much to Zekrom or my brother."

_______________

Lance looked away at the mention of his hypocrisy and huffed lightly. In a way he looked like a little kid at that moment, caught in some embarrassing situation, but it was gone as soon as it had come. His face grew serious again, erasing any signs that he had acknowledged his mistake. "If he does end up attacking Kalos, he would think he had the element of surprise - you said so yourself," He began slowly, seemingly making it up as he went - which he was. "It would be even more of a surprise if we intercepted their troops while they traveled. It would catch them off guard and we wouldn't have to bring the full impact of the first battle to these lands."

He thought for a moment. That didn't erase the chance that the dragons would be forced to clash. But they couldn't attack their soldiers without Callion's presence, especially if they met them with their own boats. "If we could at least take out a couple hundred of his men before you two are forced to come face-to-face, then it would at least suppress any further expansion past the coast for a while. If they claim the coastal cities we could at least keep the civilians calm enough to keep from breaking out into their own battles. Especially if we begin to spread the word about Yveltal."

The precautions that would have to be made were great, however. Travel between the cities would be limited, even for civilians that had nothing to do with that war, in order to keep out any new spies. Trade would have to be redirected to Shalour City, meaning that they would begin to receive their supplies later than usual. But if they took control of Cyllage City, chances are they would seek to expand eastward, towards the larger cities. Geosenge was the resting place of Yveltal, but it was the perfect place. A small population and a destination that was a bit out of the way to be important to conquer.

"It would have to be a night mission, though, if we used boats. Otherwise we could meet them with aerial and marine troops. That way we can strike quickly and without warning.." At this point he was trailing off, thinking of various possibilities, before realizing that he was still in a room with Callion. In the end it was his call, and he promised that no matter what he chose to do, he would still follow him to the end.
