Iona blushed at his praise and glanced out of the window at his comment. She hadn't noticed how the darkness had begun to fall. She put her things back in her backpack, hoisted it over her shoulder, and took Sol's hand as he led her up the steps. Iona turned to him and smiled nervously, having an internal battle with herself. Finally she stood on her tip toes and gave him a quick peck on the cheek.
"Thank you, again, for everything." She said quickly, then ducked her head in embarassment, face going red, and made her way to the far bedroom.
She dropped her bag next the the bed and plopped down on it, staring wide-eyed at the ceiling. She had no idea what had possessed her to do that. Iona's thoughts turned over and over in her head. Was it just a friendly kiss? Did she feel something more for Sol? What could he have interpreted it as? She curled up and closed her eyes, trying to block out her insatiable questions. She fell asleep quickly as soon as her eyes closed.
