Zack had finished his food and ran down to his job at the music shop. Before he had stepped he had stared at the pizza place distracted by Drew. He then went inside and looked around, then he went to the back of the store in the "employs only" section. He saw Josh and smiled at him he then took his hot jacket off and set it on a small couch and said hey to Josh. "I do not see why you always wear that jacket man!" Josh said to him. Zack gave out a half hearted laugh, "Oh, if you only knew.." he half muttered under his breathe and said out loud plainly.
After a while at the cash register it seemed to be a dead hour so he wrote his number down on a piece of paper and ran of to the pizza place. He went top the counter to see Drew. "Hey, uhh could I have a pepironi pizza please?" he asked her looking into her eyes. She was so sweet... Most people would see her as emo or dark. He did nto he saw her like he saw himself. She ws not easy to read though, and he liked that about her.

Drew:

"Hey," I said to Zach, putting his order in. "Didn't you already eat lunch?" I asked as I handed the chef a slip of paper with Zach's order on it. "It'll be a few minutes." I told him, the same way I told every customer. It was the beginning of friendship in my eyes, a big leap in friendship for me actually. I carried on a conversation with this guy and now I break my uniform greeting to say "Hey, I thought you already had lunch," This was something new for me.

"Uhhh" Zack thought for a moment. "Yeah I did but uhhh it is for my friends at the place where I work. Right next door.... Where I work... They had to work over lunch so they did not get any." he stumbled out awkwardly. "But yeah... SO I was wondering that maybe we could do something sometime. Here is my number!" he said and then pulled out the peice of paper and gave it to her. He was so awkward, he had a hard time talking to people because of his past, but now this was a step and an importunity.

Drew:

"Uhh.......ok, thanks?" I said awkwardly, no one had ever given me their number, so this came as a shock to me and when Zach's order was ready it took brown flash of a squirrel to snap me out of my surprised, motionless state. Making sure to watch the squirrel I pulled the box with Zach's pizza in it off the rack and handed it to him. "Talk to you later, I guess."

Zack took the pizza then just kinda stood there "uhhhh...." he was surprised by her actually saying that she would use his number. I mean he guessed that she already had loads of other friends and why even talk to him right. He then noticed that he was standing there and then said "Yup. Bye!" then he fast walked out of there and back into the music store. He had made SUCH a fool of himself. What was he thinking!!!!

Drew:

My face was that pale pink-red again and I hid it with my red and black hair. I was silent as I put the rest of the orders in until my break. At my break, I went out in the shade of behind the building. I leaned against the brick wall and stared off into space. I got out of work at six and went home for something to eat. I made myself plain pasta. I pulled the crinkled piece of paper with Zach's number on it out of my pocket and my cell phone out of the other. I sat on the couch and looked at the two things in my hands. My cell phone was basically useless at the moment but I still wasn't sure if I wanted to call him. But I wasn't the type of person to go against my word, so I added a contact and called Zach. I heard the long rings as I waited for him to pick up. I was getting nervous, what if Zach had told his friends about "the creepy goth girl at the coffee shop" and they decided to play a trick on me by giving me a random number?

Zach looked at his cell phone, he was did not know the number and was about to hit the "ignore" button but then hw picked it up again realizing that it could be Drew. He picked it up and looked at the phone and answered it. "Hello? This is Zack Goldfinch." he said and waited for an answer. He really hoped that it was Drew and not some weirdo person thingy.

Drew:

I was relaived when Zach picked up. "Hi, Zach Goldfish." I said. "Its Drew." I kicked my shoes off and put my feet up on the couch. I then realized something, I was making friends, well a friend really. It was a totally new thing for me. I think this is the only time I've called some one.

Zack noticed she had said GoldFISH and it was uhh Goldfinch. "Uhh It is Goldfinch..." he said softly. and then heard it was Drew. "Oh hey Drew!" he said smiling now. He then started to look outside and see rabbits and things, He wanted them. He decided to night he would break it for a while... He could not stand it anymore. "Soo whats up?" he asked and sat down on a chair on his front porch.

Drew:

"Nothing, I just had the most disgusting dinner: plain pasta. I don't know why I chose to be too lazy to heat it up." I said, making myself smile. I was about to add, "and my boss yelled at me, earlier, for not talking to most of the customers." but decided not to, Zach would probably think I was anti-social and never talk to me again. I don't know why I wanted to be friends with him so bad, maybe because I've been lonely so long...
