Streamsong turned her eyes slowly, not moving her head. "It hurts," she mumbled. "I don't think I can get up." She felt as though she'd been hit by a monster, trampled by a bunch of badgers, and then squeezed by a Twoleg. When she tried to stand, she could only move her forepaws, and her entire body trembled. Unable to succeed even that, she flopped back down, closing her eyes. "Ow," she meowed.
Bluemist shoved the kits in front of her and sighed. She didn't have the herbs for a battle, right now. She'd told Goldenstar. Shaking her head, eyes closed, she padded silently after the kits. A rustle in the forest ahead of them made her ears prick, and she looked up to see a flash of golden fur. "Goldenstar?" she meowed.
Goldenstar turned his head, eyes narrowed, to see Bluemist, padding towards him with the kits at her paws. "What?" he hissed. "What do you want? Come to say, 'I told you so?' Huh?" The fur along his spine, which had never really smoothed from the battle, stood up even further. "I don't want to hear it." Without waiting for her to say anything else, he bounded stiffly away towards the camp.
Wavekit stared after Goldenstar, then looked up at Bluemist, confused. "Is Riverstorm okay?" he asked in a small voice, eyes widening. "I don't want Riverstorm to be hurt."
Pebblestrike stared after the CloudClan cats, body tense. When the last one had vanished into the undergrowth, he spat after them, furious, then looked towards Dawnstar. "Yes, they all left," he meowed. "Do you want me to get Amberstone?" He glanced around the clearing for her, and suddenly realized what was missing. "Briarpatch," he hissed, eyes widening. "Where's Briarpatch?" A bolt of panic shot through him.
