Phoenixwildfire
Name: Naru
Age: 19 or 20
Gender: Male
Race: Peacock humanus
Appearance: Naru is thin looking- not intimidating at all when it comes to his size. He is of average height- only 5'9" or so, not including the poofy green and blue feathers that cover his head in place of hair. His entire body is covered with a soft layer of down bright blue feathers, including his human-like face and normal human hands.
He has two stubs of bone above his shoulder blades and atrophy of muscles that seem to lead to the bones- these used to be his wings, and are still surrounded by the occasional brown, black-spotted feather. He is very shy about the appearance of these stubs- they are quite a shocking sight to most people, especially if people are used to seeing wings with a bird humanus- he looks somewhat freakish without them, to other birds.
However- he has a brilliant, amazingly vibrant tail of large 10 foot long peacock feathers. He is very proud of this tail, and when he uses his magic it fans out behind him in quite an amazing sight- being the last of his kind means this site is rare, and usually causes a moment of pause with most who see it, just for the sake of seeing the last peacock in his glory.
His legs just below the knee change from blue feathers to a black scaly skin that leads to large black talons.
Personality: Naru is compassionate and kind, but terribly shy. When confronted with a stranger, he would sooner keep quiet than start a conversation- and only talk when he needs to. However when he gets frustrated, it's hard to shut him UP. He can be quite a pain in a battle, because he is somewhat cowardly and freezes in fear before realizing that he has to make an action or he'll get hurt somehow (or the people around him will)
Once he gets to know you though, he's amazingly generous. He revels in making others happy- more than anything, he loves to see the people around him smile, and works hard at doing so. Sometimes this becomes a weakness- he'll think of others to the point of forgetting himself. He is also fairly trusting- if someone is being nice to him, he'll return the favor, regardless of their true intentions.
He is, however, VERY vain about his tail- he's protective about it (he has after all lost his wings already!), often keeping track not to drag it on the ground too much, or bend his long feathers. It shakes with emotion, such as anger, frustration or extreme joy/pleasure (a peacock trait)
History: Naru is the last line of the peacock lineage of humanus- to is knowledge he is the last of his entire species, though he is able to mate with other bird humanus. When he was a small boy, he grew as the 'prince' of the bird kingdom, and was sent away when humans attacked his home and killed his parents (the king and queen).
He was adopted by an old raven couple in a nearby village- they raised him to be kind, and to remember his heritage of magic and compassion- for unlike the Tora and Okami kingdoms, the Peacock kingdom was the peacekeeper of the humanus, and were great healers.
His village was attacked by humans, and the ravens who adopted him were killed. He was captured by the humans who attacked, who brought him back to their prison and tore off his wings, planning on bringing him back to the king as the 'last of the royal lineage' to get a monetary reward. He managed to escape, traveling along his way to try to survive.
Other: Naru, being one of the last of the peacocks, has a high price on his head. However- he is yearning for a life that doesn't involve constant danger and running. He is the only humanus to wield magic like humans, and can use it to defend himself with quite some skill.

Feathers
Name: Honey is the name she goes by these days, but her real name is Juliana Beaumont.
Age: About 18 or 19
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Appearance: Honey is a fit, but curvy, woman with long, brownish-blonde hair that falls in waves to her shoulder-blades. Her lips are almost too full and a natural red color; she doesn’t wear much makeup, but she insists on wearing strawberry lip balm almost constantly, if she can find it. Honey mysteriously maintains a perfect tan year round and under all conditions; she's about five and a half feet tall and in shape with a small waist and long legs. Which she knows all about and flaunts to her best advantage. Her taste in clothes is whatever best shows off her body while still being functional. Tight pants, low-cut dresses...her style is classy but sexy. She also prefers dark, deep colors like sapphire blues and ruby reds, but her favorite color in general is dark, rich gold.
Personality: Honey is a flirt, but she rarely puts much thought into her flirting. Some see her as silly and selfish, but she can be quite cunning and loyal when it gets down to it. Honey radiates charm and gets along well with most people, but for some reason, she seems to prefer to keep things casual and shallow. Once a relationship begins to get deep, she tends to cut out. She is considerate when she’s trying to be, but if she’s not thinking actively about someone else, she tends to be a bit self-centered. Still, she tries most of the time to be caring and thoughtful, even if it isn’t really in her nature. She gets bored easily, but she’s as easily entertained as conversation, so that’s no real problem. She's a charmer, and she knows it. She’s an excellent manipulator of people and tends to come off sweet and naïve even when she’s secretly pulling the strings. Some think her sentimental, and in some ways, she is; however, generally, she can keep a cool head under almost any circumstances and is a pretty good planner. She is usually a happy person with a positive outlook on life and a tendency to be “charitable” in her dealings with others (even if that comes from a sort of smug feeling that she knows best and tends to see others as “childlike.”). She is easily amused and when she gets bored, she solves the “problem” with relative ease. She also has some serious control issues; not being “in charge” of a situation, not having any control, really panics her. She doesn’t mind following orders, even, as long as following them is her choice. When she has absolutely no options, though, she “freaks out” and tends to run away or hurt people. She also doesn’t like it when people touch her without her permission or sneak up on her. She likes pleasant surprises, like presents; she hates every other kind, from things not going as she expected (although sometimes people’s actions merely amuse her, depending on her mood) to being scared from behind. She also has real issues with being emotionally honest with people. She doesn’t like being in a position to be hurt, so she tends to just not get emotionally attached or allow a chink in her armor to show.
History: Honey was born an illegitimate child of a rich lady and a poor bard; her mother tried to pass her off as one of the children of her maids, but it was all too clear what her parentage was and she was quickly passed from her mother's house. Since she was a lady's daughter, albeit a bastard one, she wasn't killed, but instead sort of passed from family member to family member, spending a few months here, a few there, the relatives growing more and more distant as the years went on. Finally, when she was about thirteen and staying with the ex-husband of a fourth cousin of her mother's, she got fed up with the pattern of moving and disconnection and struck out on her own, stealing whatever she could carry and disappearing. No one was all that concerned; it was embarrassing enough having to keep her in the family, and maybe now she'd fade from society's memory. She's been roaming from place to place ever since, picking up "street" manners and blending in with the have-nots pretty quickly, but every now and then, her rich upbringing will show.
Other: She has a habit of calling people by pet names like 'sweetheart' or 'pumpkin,' and if it annoys you...well. She CAN make herself stop, but she prefers not to. As far as personal interests go, she loves dancing and singing; the dancing contributes to the general sense of grace one gets from her, but as for the singing... She's awful at it. She also practices magic from a thick book she stole from the last relative in her spare time, partially as a challenge, partially because she has the book, and partially because she just thinks it would look dangerous and sexy. Yes, she IS that shallow about her image.
