I'm a fan. The first season of the US version is about 10 times better than the first season of UK Top Gear. Seriously. Tanner, Rutledge and Adam have good chemistry and are passionate about their cars. First season of Top Gear, there was a man named Jason Dawes instead of James May. They didn't really go on any adventures and basically just did test drives and news pieces. Little interaction. The US has the advantage of seeing how the show works in the UK and putting it to the test with Americans, in America, with American hosts. Could they just show the UK version here? Sure. And they do, on BBCA. I watch it. But I also watch the US version because I like the hosts. (Especially Adam Ferrara, whom I've been a huge fan of for years.) I keep watching because it's improving.

I was just joking. I'm a massive fan of the UK version and had no idea they'd done a different one for America. Admittedly, Clarkson is a git, but he's a funny git and I like the other two.

Personally, I think the show's gone a bit too far from its roots as a car show and is more into the 'three guys have zany adventures while we show off these cool things on wheels we found' territory. I mean yeah, it's amazing, but it's not really about the cars anymore. Still worth watching, particularly for the 'Star in a Reasonably Priced Car' segment, because hey, we all like to see our favourite celebrities mess up in a... can't remember what car they've got now but it was a Chevy Lacetti for ages.
