it wasn't, at least not by me. I just happen to agree with you.
I went through the potions listed here, and decided, like you, I wanted either Felix Felicis or a Beautification Potion.

I think, I'd choose Felix Felicis though, if I had to choose only one. I'd use it to win a ton of money, pay all my debts and live happily ever after doing exactly what I love doing.

The beautification is like makeup irl to me. It's not about hiding who you are because you hate the way you look. It's about doing something nice for yourself to make yourself feel even better about yourself!
That's my take on it anyway.
