Otherkin Den

Postby Kaikasu » December 15th, 2009, 7:37 pm

This thread is for those who feel they share spiritual similarities with beings that are not human. Therians are an example. A good explanation can be found here. However, anyone with an open mind is welcome here as well. (If you don't wish to share your experiences, you don't have to. )

Hi. Call me Kai. And this is me.

Hey Kai.

It's well past time Magistream got a group of Otherkin, Therians and Furs together. Furs ARE accepted too, yes?

I'm Hawke, and some would define me as Otherkin. I still haven't figured it out entirely, but here I am.

Hi Hawke, it's really nice to meet you. I just recently figured out my therianthropism thanks to a couple of my friends (both therians). I figured we all need a place where we can chill without discrimination. Too many people think bady of therians and furries because of those darn yiffers. -.-

Well, I'd consider myself a semi-furry, but I don't fit into the therian or otherkin or whatever moulds.... my husband though is a wolf-therian, even though he hates to be called that, just because of the bad connotations of therian-ism.

However, I will say that people that have no clue what furries and therians are have called my husband "Wolfy", and such as nicknames. He pretty much exudes wolf personality, heh. Although we agree he's pretty much a Beta Wolf :P

Lol. Yeah, I have to admit there are people who claim any of those titles who scare me.

Me... I just know there's some part of me that isn't entirely human. I don't believe it's a past life thing. It might be the form of my soul, it might be a muse, it might just be a figment of my imagination, or even the form of my imagination. It could be my astral form. I just don't know.

My form has changed over the years, and I feel like this is as it should be. I believe a human should not be stagnant, never changing. That inner form should change as we change and learn and grow. Unfortunately, all the drawings I have, are from several years ago, and I have changed quite a bit since then. I need to sit down and try again.

May I join? I think I might fit in well here. ...Do wolf-like creatures count? (Sorry, I've never really had a discussion on whether I'm Otherkin or not...)

But, I do have an open-mind. A very, very open-mind.

If it's "wolf-like", probably otherkin, if "wolf", probably therian. Lol. To my understanding, "Therian" refers to those who feel the tie to/ feel they are a "real" creature, and "otherkin" are those who have it with any kind of "made up" creature. I put "made up" as anything not proven to be real. Anything from say anthros to a blue horse, to a dragon, to elves and vampires. I'm sure others would define it define it differently.

Of course you're welcome Murder. All creatures are welcome. Even if you don't feel like you fit into the therian/otherkin group as long as you have an open mind and won't discriminate we're happy to have you. ^^

@Hawke: Wow, that's really kind of deep. I understand the whole changing of form thing. At the present I've got 2 of them fighting out for dominance. I've the the red cat and a snow leopard. They tend to change as the situation demands.

@Axiluvia: Aww, that's cute. My fiance's not a therian, but he finds my cat-like tenancies cute. And I personally kind of like it that way. So I take it you're the Alpha in your relationship, huh? ^^

Technically, I think we're both betas, as we can be headstrong and stubborn, but "alpha" types make us nervous and such... there's a friend we have that gives off such bad "alpha" vibes that both of us pick up on that and go "Yeah.. let's not make him angry"

I've tried thinking if I'm a therian or otherkin or what but I don't think so... I wouldn't MIND doing things like P-Shifting, that would be completely awesome, but soul-wise... I don't think so. And I don't think my husband has the soul of one, just a huge personality... but if soul is a major part of personality, than sure, heh.

Thank you! Well, I know it's a wolf. I just don't know if it's a "normal" one or not. lol...

Hey, is it normal to dream that you've actually shapeshifted into what you are? I'm not really sure if I'm wording that correctly...But, I've had a few dreams that were like that.
