Hehe, yeah, even when I liked the Naruto series I hated Sasuke. Too much time was focused on him, and he was basically a huge jackass.
As for hilariously bad anime...Hmm. I saw a panel a few years back called "Bad Anime Bad!" which showcased some of the worst anime around. An article here has some of the titles, and all of them looked pretty awful/hilarious.
The Anime Guild!
Re: The Anime Guild!
I enjoyed Another so much I've been looking at recomended animes similar to it. Found one called Shiki. Supposed to have vampires, not my favourite subject (overdosed on too many substandard outings) but it looks intriguing enough I might give it a go. Anyone seen it and give me some idea about it?
Ghost Hound on the otherhand looks more certain to watch for me. And the animation from stills alone looks really good. Might make this my next anime.
Is Paranoia Agent any good for my preference for spooky/horror/Pyschological type animes?
I'll just list all of the anime I like the look of and see if you can tell me if it's worth it. Basically I can't decided on what to start next.
Shiki
Ghost Hound
Paranoia Agent
Monster
Highschool of the dead
Serial Experiment Lain

I loved "High School of the Dead.". I highly recommend it.
It is ecchi, but it has no sex scenes and no shown nudity. It is also very bloody, so if you don't like that sort of thing, stay away from it. Also has a few romantic episodes.
I should go rewatch it after I finish "Lucky Star."

I've also seen High School of the Dead, and while it's a fun show (for the first 5 or so episodes, then the quality drops off) I'm not sure I'd call it a horror. It's more of an action/ecchi show.
Granted, if you're really scared of zombies, then it could be a horror, but it doesn't have the atmosphere that Another has.

Pretty ponies...
Re: The Anime Guild!
Hmmm I'll put Highschool of the dead on the backburner. Gore I have no problem with, ecchi not so keen on.
Well Think I might start with Ghost Hound and see how it goes. It's the one that really caught my eye.

Re: The Anime Guild!
Have you seen Star Driver? (I know somebody has, don't remember who it was though...) Or Welcome to the NHK? I haven't watched either of those shows completely, but from what I've seen, they had ridiculous over the top humor. Although they're not "bad", just...flamboyant. Or maybe Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san? Although I personally thought it was really stupid, maybe that's kind of what you're looking for?Niverdia wrote:This might sound a bit odd, but can someone here recommend some really, really bad anime to watch for the laughs? And with "bad" I don't mean having lots of fillers and/or generic characters, I'm looking for something outrageously ridiculous/kitschy. Something like Mars of Destruction or this thing (the review itself is hilarious).
Yeah...Highschool of the Dead isn't very creepy at all, it's more like...I guess it's more like a first person shooter than Amnesia? (Not sure if using video game references will help at all...) Ghost Hunt is also sort of creepy, although that show is slightly more upbeat than Another.Atuin wrote:Hmmm I'll put Highschool of the dead on the backburner. Gah! I dreamed about Noein. Obviously my subconscious wants me to watch it...

Both Welcome to the NHK and Star Driver have relatively good ratings, and I have nothing against intentionally over-the-top humour /coughBakemonogataricoughSelinea wrote:Have you seen Star Driver? I'll probably look at Raneth's link, when I have the time. I'm looking for really bad stuff - badly animated, with a ridiculous plot and crappy, if any, characterization. Why? Because sometimes watching incredibly bad stuff is very much fun. xD

I spotted he boxset for the entire series of Ghost Hunt in a shop. I'll probably end up buying that instead of catching it online.
And watch Noein. It is actually rather good.

Eh, I tried Highschool of the Dead. Seriously people, no offense to you, but I really... hate fanservice and ecchi. Really, no offense! I respect your opinion, but that's mine... So yeah, literally around every turn was fanservice fanservice fanservice. I finally decided I couldn't take it and stopped on uh, episode 10? I don't know... And ghost Hound just sounds cool, maybe I should look it up.Atuin wrote:Hmmm I'll put Highschool of the dead on the backburner. Gore I have no problem with, ecchi not so keen on.

Just saw this short and sad anime about a lonely dog in a world without humans. It's called Je T'Aime.
