Woo, am I glad to see people who have watched and enjoyed Another!

I was pretty shocked when it was revealed that Reiko was the dead person, since she didn't get enough screen time so I assumed she was just another side character that's going to die sooner or later. Speaking of Reiko, is it me or did Koichi called her "mother" before she got killed? I'm pretty certain he did but I'll watch it again just in case I'm wrong.
Well, all I can say is that they deserve a nice pat on the back for doing a great job on the plot twists, the suspense, and showing us disturbing ways of dying from ordinary objects. (hint: umbrellas)
Welcome! Nice to have someone new here.

I thought Kouichi called her mother because she just looked like her, but now that you mention it, it does seem really... weird. I just barely re-watched Another and picked up on a lot of things I missed on my first time. But there's still a lot know figure out, I'm sure. And I'm still confused about some things. Lol.
Anyway, it is a good anime, think I'll go for a third watch
And about the ordinary objects, the "boat scene" was so weird. And especially in episode 11 where that one girl whose name I forget strangled herself on those cords. Wow. It was so interesting, lol.

I think it was he said that because both his mother and his aunt died because of the calamity. Since part of the whole reveal thing showed his grandpa saying "My poor Ritsuko, my poor Reiko too, how I'm tired of funerals." So Koichi's like, mourning his entire family.
I think the umbrella thing was the stupidest one. Why don't they just make umbrellas like they do in the US, where the tips are round? It'd have to be extremely sharp to puncture through her throat and not just leave a bruise. If it was in the US, all umbrellas with those pencil sharp tips would have gotten tagged as a safety hazard and there would have been a huge recall.
The car swerving off the road was also kind of stupid. Since they know about the calamity, they should have driven slower through the rain/hail and made sure they wouldn't get into an accident.
I liked how the mystery kept me on my toes, but some of the deaths made me scoff, so I didn't really get that scared.

The umbrella one was kinda silly. But entertaining anyway.
If the tip wasn't round, it would've been a bit boring!
With the car one, the students were not supposed to talk about the calamity to their families. The parents might not have even known, and so they were just driving normally. I don't know, that's just me guessing, but that's what I thought.
The umbrella bit was pretty rad. xD
Also, Another has really, really pretty art and the voice acting is very good.
I find myself rather interested in the plot. In the characters... not so much. I don't really bother trying to remember the school kids' names.
Yeah, some of the characters interest me, but not enough to keep me glued into it. It's the stuff that happens that made me stay with the show, and I did enjoy it the entire way. I think, like I said, there are some pretty intriguing characters to me, but if this were a romance anime (you know... where it depends on characters instead of plot) then I don't think I'd like it that much.
(And I didn't put that in a spoiler because I didn't think I was spoiling anything, but sorry if I was)
Nah, it's OK, such general information isn't spoiling anything. c:
Well, like I've said in this thread before, for me to like an anime, it has to have two of the three factors: 1) nice art, 2) interesting plot, 3) engaging characters, and this series fits 1) and 2) very well.
Watched the last episode of Symphogear. Though I'm kind of mad at the person who wrote the script for this episode, it's okay. They're so cheesy anyway with Hibiki's lines and stuff that it kinda fits. xD;;
All in all pretty good, though. I really like the OP.

that in Naruto, he dies and it becomes the Rock Lee show!
...Okay, I totally made that up. But watch out for spoilers please!
You know how Raneth edited this into the OP a while back? Well, I found this just now. Just something I found somewhat amusing. xD;

How is Mirai Nikki so far? It seems like a cool anime, so I'm thinking of starting it soon.

Hehe-I promise I did not know about that show when I made that joke.

The new season of anime has started! So far nothing looks amazingly spectacular, but there a few shows I want to check out-Space Brothers and Zetman, for starters.

True, since they have a strikingly similar appearance for sisters that aren't twins like Mei and Misaki. Though I would of expect Koichi to correct his mistake and realize it was his aunt, not his mother.
I thought the boat scene was the idiotic death I've ever seen. I mean, who the hell would drive a speedboat close to shore when there's a very high chance of killing someone? Takao's mangled body (though luckily--well, unfortunately for him--he died just before the speedboat rammed him) is the proof in the pudding. Takako on the other hand... well, I didn't expect her to snap that far since I viewed her as the calm and collected character, and seeing her flailing her weapon around was unexpecting, let alone her death.

Rereading what the grandpa's said made me instantly facepalm myself because I didn't see the obvious sign there. Not realizing it so soon have never made me feel ashamed about myself.
I did find it unlikely for an umbrella (even though it looked sharp, but not sharp as a knife) to pierce through a human's throat. Unless Yukari has been spending time sharpening her umbrella. Either Japan manufactures umbrellas with freaky razor sharp tips, or it's anime logic.
I do agree that they should of be a little more cautious when they're halfway leaving the town, but I guess they thought they would be safe once they get out of the town--think again when a falling boulder hits your windscreen.

Definitely worth watching, especially if you like watching crazy yandere in action and awesome OPs!
