I didn't find this thread in search, so don't sue me if it already exists. 
I just love Spongebob! He's hilarious! This is where we can chat about him, watch his songs, post random facts about him, whatever! Just a few rules:
1. Don't dis the sponge. You'll die.

-Steve Hillenburg, the creator, was a marine biologist before he became a cartoonist. He also used to work as a fry cook.
-Spongebob debued on May 1, 1999.
-Spongebob lives in a pineapple because Hillenburg thought he would like the smell. The sense of smell is important to sea creatures in reality.
-Tom Kenny, Spongebob's voice actor, says Spongebob's laugh is supposed to remind a viewer of the ocean.-Squidward is supposed to be an octopus, even though he only has six legs. The animators thought that having eight would be a burden.
-The German title of the show is "SpongeBob Schwammkopf" which means "SpongeBob SpongeHead."
-Plankton's wife, Karen, is named after Steve Hillenburg's wife and is voiced by the wife of Tom Kenny.
-The Krabby Patty was originally going to be called the Barnacle Burger.
