Riraito,

I know everyone's said a lot to take in, but I'll throw in my two cents as well, if it helps.

I'm pretty sure we're in agreement against your teacher. It wasn't exactly "the boy's fault" or "the boy's family's fault." God could be testing the family's faith, if they are Christian. God could be showing his power, if he heals. And ultimately, Christians believe that God has a plan for each of us. A plan not to harm us, but to prosper us (Jeremiah 29:11), so even if the boy passed away, it was for a reason and part of the plan. He would be in heaven with God. That's not a bad thing.

Yes, a lot of things like "no piercings," "no tattoos," etc. are in the Bible. But those rules were mostly made in the Old Testament, when Jesus hadn't died on the cross to forgive our sins. Now, through Jesus, we are all saved as long as we ask for forgiveness. Truly, Jesus doesn't look at our appearance. He cares about our inside. Do we honestly, truly, 100% believe in him? Are we willing to dedicate ourselves to him wholly? He takes us no matter what we look like.

And the things about "no witches," "no Pokemon," etc., well, there are many thoughts about this. I THINK (don't quote me on this) the Catholic church specifically will not allow witchcraft/Harry Potter/etc., but I may be wrong. Either way, the only reason people would be against such things should be because they aren't real. But as long as one does not IDOLIZE these things, it's okay to be a fan. It's the same with EVERYTHING. Sports, music, television, etc. God needs to be the first priority.

The bible also says that because babies are innocent and have not had the chance to hear about Christ, they go to heaven. God is fair and just, but he is also loving and merciful.

Do you understand? We tried to hit as many points as we could, I think.

But anymore questions; feel free to ask us. :D I, personally, enjoy these kind of questions. It makes me think about what I really believe in... Hope you don't hate Christianity. Confusion and not understanding are different from hatred. ;)

Thanks a lot for spending so much time on explaining this for me. It's much clearer now.

A lot of parents teach their children that you can't do some things because it's in the Bible. Maybe that's were those rules come from. One thing you'll never see in church here is a girl in jeans, everyone thinks God wants you to wear a skirt :srsly:

I know what to believe now and what not, but if someone would ask me if I considered becoming a Christian I seriously wouldn't know the answer. My life already has so much things I need to solve, no need for another hard question..

Oh, regarding skirt/jeans in church, I think it's more of a respect thing. Like, it's kind of disrespectful to God to wear jeans, not so much that there's a rule in the Bible.

If you'll let me give a piece of advice, Riratio, don't take anyone's word for this stuff. Not to say anything against the others who have posted before me- I pretty much agree with what everyone's said- but the most sure evidence is the evidence you see for yourself. Otherwise, how do you know the people telling you this stuff aren't wrong or lying?

There's a lot of places where you can find straight-from-the-Bible text. For one thing, if you go to a christian school, I'm assuming you own at least one Bible, or if not, that someone you're living around does. next, there's at least 2 different free websites that have the Bible in several different translations. There's also at least one Bible app that I know of (not sure about pricing, but I think it's free) that has several different translation.
You are not a failure. You are not a mistake. You are not worthless. You are not unloved. You are not disposable.
You ARE full of purpose. You ARE priceless. You ARE indispensable. You ARE loved.

I'm so happy and sad right now, but mostly glad. :woo:

\So my father and his friends prayed with him about God giving him sign to become a real estate agent. The next day, Dad went to a legal privacy convention. He sat, not talking and checking his e-mail, due to the fact the he didn't want to tell people he was jobless. So the convention ends and there's a buffet lunch at the end. Dad waits for his table to leave before, since he still didn't want to talk. When he finally got in line, the woman he sat next to during the talk was there. So, they start talking and then sit down at a table and eat together. Eventually, Dad tells her that he's jobless and considering to be a real estate agent. The women then tells him that she worked for the agency Dad was considering and that the boss was super nice. Also, this woman lives very close to where we live. Then she asks Dad for his help in maybe selling her house. The strangest this is, that people from all over were coming from Maryland, DC, Virginia, and even out of the area. So, their meeting is like a one out of ten-thousand chance. That was a miracle, but, we are going to have to cut BBC from our current cable plan, and I can't live without seeing Doctor Who. I'm so happy for Dad though!
