It is said that there are hidden temples all over the world where magic becomes very strong--and very dangerous. No one can remember who built them or why, but they are all the same. Each temple is under water (or used to be) and made of the most beautiful and unusual veined marble in green, purple, and gold. The ancients tell us that these watery sanctuaries are the sources of magic.
Most temples are inaccessible to humans since they are completely submerged, but Magi with close aquatic creatures may find ways to reach them. However, even though the vast majority of temples have been untouched for many, many years, it is a testament to their sheer numbers that there are still more than a hundred of them which are visited annually by thousands of people. Indeed, some villages even host festivals at these "magic wellsprings."
Every year, more and more temples are discovered by adventurous Magi. In their depths can be found deadly traps and magnificent treasures, ancient curses and wondrous creatures. Who can say what secrets they may hold?
