The breeding system is back online, and with it comes a lineage system. You now have the option to create a family when you breed creatures. Your lineages can have descriptions provided by you, as well as guild crests of your choosing. Family crests have a size limit of 300x300 pixels and no more than 200k. They are only accepted in png format.
DarkSeas are currently not moved over into the new lineage system. Any DarkSeas bred will not create DarkSea children, so it is advised that you hold off breeding your DarkSeas for a little while.
Just moved the Darkseas into the new lineage system. There are 812 of them over 8 generations.
Mod edit: Please remember that once you create a lineage those creatures are "lifemates" and will never breed with any other creature ever again.

I plan to take full advantage of this, just as soon as my creatures decide to be interested in each other. I've never had so many failed breeding in a row.

I can't wait to give all my creatures families!
I do have a few questions, though.
~ When we breed our creatures & select to create
a family, do the parents ALSO get included into the
new family, or is it only the offspring?
~ Is there any limit to how many or how often
we can create new families?
~ What is the max character length?
~ The names themselves are going to be added
to a database (like the user names are) so that they
will always be individual, right? (Just making sure.)
~ Where does the family crest show up?
~ Is there a certain file format that it needs to
be in (I am assuming we cannot have animated
ones, is that correct?), and if so, what formats
are acceptable for use?

EDIT: Just thought of another couple of questions...
~ When breeding two creatures of different families,
which one does the offspring inherit? Do we get to choose?
~ When breeding a creature belonging to a family to
one that does not, will we have the option of adding that
creature to the family?
~ Are any special characters allowed, like "-", " ' ", numbers,
and letters with accent marks on them?
