I still personally don't think MS needs Flash games. My points why;
1- It takes a LOT longer than you'd think to make a game
2- MS would need a bigger better host to process people playing games
3- Because of 2, the cash flow from donations might not be able to keep the site up and stable without ads so Tristan might have to add them.
4- I don't think many staff members here on MS right now can make flash games that are stable enough and that would require either commissioning someone or paying someone with real money to make flash games.
5- Making the games produce a suitable income of gold to not override the other forms of gold income and/or abusing the games to produce vast amounts of gold.
6- Another reason behind 5 is the fact that the influx of gold would cause increases in price for nearly everything including new/old shop born creatures. AKA: bigger gold sinks.

7- People would be likely to be geared towards the games and less towards discussion, probably making the community that more competitive [if scores are viewable by others though if they aren't people are likely to post them].
8- The games have a high chance of lagging people so even if we did get them just for quests only, several people would not be able to even DO the quest because of the lag induced by the flash games.
Why exactly do we need flash games? I don't get it... I like Magistream as it is.
Yes, I do know the battle system is in the works and I don't know how they're going to pull that off [to be honest I hope its not flash because it's a pain in the butt to let it LOAD even on a 'fast running connection.]
*cough cough* I did so not hack Restaurant City for levels *cough* I mean, I didn't accidently hack so much that I'm at the max level with only 1 level 10 dish *Cough*MadHattery wrote:Sadly it is easy to hack flash games This site actually has INSTRUCTIONS on how to hack flash games. Though, as said by my dad who is a radio/computer engineer, it is probably possible to put bugs and things like that into them.xxEuphemia wrote:
Mmmm...would it be possible to hack those games?
As for lagging, lets take facebook for example; They have dozens of flash games. One common one is the playfish game Restaurant City. This lags me even on it's lowest resolution setting.
This is a very good point, Euphemia. I was on the fence about voting yes only if it involved a quest. I am on a fast computer and fast connection, but even then, most Flash games eat up my CPU and cause the fan to go haywire. If this were a requirement for a quest with someone one a slow computer and/or slower connection, I foresee many of that population complaining. While it would be fun to see a game involved in a quest, I feel it is not worth the possibility of having to hear about the potential headache that I mentioned earlier.xxEuphemia wrote:Yeah, it'd be disadvantageous if your computer was slow and couldn't play Flash well
