So, since money is the issue I'll give you some data:

In the end we all spent a total of slightly over 211,5 million gold on the event. Out of that a little under 198 million went into the bags, and the rest on Sylphs and Gingerbread Mantinis (which are still available, by the way).

Didn't you say it was something like 84 million the first day? If so--that's interesting. I know that I stopped buying bags for the most part after a week or so.
