Is it ok to have an object that you didn't make yourself as the focus of the piece? Like a shiny stone, a bell, etc.

Espthec: A clay model would be okay, but it would be best if it's clearly a decorative version.

Piney: No, you must cast the bell yourself from pure silver. Bought supplies are fine for the focus. As long as you can explain how it's tied to MS.

We encourage anyone to to try if they are interested in making something -- creativity is a large part of what we look for in these contests, more so than skill level in a certain craft. While we don't want entries to be made of edible materials, but things like clay, wood, paper, styrofoam, plastic, rubber, tape, fabric, or any other supplies you can find around your home are welcome, as long as they fit the other criteria of the contest.
