New MD subforum

Post by Morgaln »

Hello everyone,

The gender and lineage trading threads in the Kancha have become cumbersome, and so we decided to replace them with something better (or at least different, your mileage may vary). Therefore I present to you the Kiwik, a subforum of the Kancha dedicated to creature swaps. Any gender, lineage, color or date swap belongs in this section, starting immediately.
Complaining about Merchant District names is a long-standing tradition on Magistream. I hope the name we chose for this section does not disappoint those of you who wish to follow this time-honored custom.

To make it easier for all of you to find what you are looking for in the Kiwik, we set some guidelines for you how to post there. If everyone follows what we propose, it will be easy to quickly search for the creature you want. Please take a few minutes to read those guidelines, which can be found here. Please note that all the general MD rules as well as those applying to the Kancha are in full effect for the Kiwik.

Happy swapping for all of you!

Where does the name Kiwik even come from? If you say it fast enough (in the way that I think you say it) it could sound like "quick kiwi" which would really only apply if you are trading a Kiwi Bird.

Fixed that for you.

Also, I choose to pronounce the new name very quickly, with a slight rise at the end, so it becomes k'WIK.
If you see me posting nonsense, give me a smack and tell me to go write.

So if we ever decide to overthrow the Powers-That-Be of Magistream, we will eat that forum instead of burning it!

Not that we would ever revolt...*hides weapons*

It's from the Mayan language. It's actually written k'iwik, but I didn't feel like trying out what parts of the forum apostrophes in forum names will break...

It means marketplace. From here: http://research.famsi.org/mdp/mdp_detai ... rowstart=0

Google wanted to search kiwi instead. :derp:

At first glance, I hated it. I hate change period. But now that I've thought about it... if people actually follow directions and make descriptive titles... this could be a good thing.
