I would bend over backwards to try and buy donation breeding potions! LOL! OMG FIELD DAY! I'd go crazy trying to get all kinds of my favorite donation pets as babies. omg yes!
Another thing that we can do is encourage users that are interested in current or future donation pets to do auctions for shards instead of gold. that might be helpful?
Also!!! If there is a donation breeding potion, you might want to consider the fact that a lot of people have 1 light and 1 dark of the older pets and maybe you ought to make the lights able to breed with the darks. because.... I've got a male Dark Unicorn, and a female Light Unicorn. And a Male Void and a Female Celestial, and a female light basilisk and a male dark basilisk. Ya know?! A lot of people don't have pairs of both kinds. So if you can't breed the lights to the darks then a lot LESS people will be buying the potion.

I like this idea. I think, (and this is going along with my "more donis" idea), having hybrids available amongst specific donis if a breeding potion was made available for sale would be a huge draw.Bagheera wrote:

Even better, if a seperate potion made purely for breeding only hybrids of both donis and non-donis it would be a giant incentive to donate.
Continuing with the explosionasm of ideas coming out of my idiot of a brain: quests that you need shards to complete?

Okay, going to have to say that is not practical. There are ALOT of donis like that. Just the sheer ammount of work it would be for the artists...they would not be able to do anything else for quite some time! Making them breedable to each other minus the hybrids is more practical by far.

No no no and nooooo. That would just drive non-donators away ;_; And that's just mean to them. IMO, world-building should be for everyone.ElementalNovel wrote:Continuing with the explosionasm of ideas coming out of my idiot of a brain: quests that you need shards to complete?

Good point on that one.Cassowary wrote:No no no and nooooo. That would just drive non-donators away ;_; And that's just mean to them. Rather, what if there was a quest you could only do if you have already donated? Not one you need shards for, but something that won't come up as a quest until you donate? If I remember correctly, there are some quests you can't do unless you've done others... something along those lines, maybe?
True. But as I said in one of my other posts, if they spread the workload out over time rather than as they have it now, then the money making oppurtunity would be wider without the product needing to be more. It sounds mean, but that's business.Byakugan01 wrote:Okay, going to have to say that is not practical. There are ALOT of donis like that. Perhaps if they released the hybrids as they would any other doni, and just not had it in the store?

Another thing you can do is make shards tradeable like gold and creatures are. that way if someone does for example an auction for shards to entice donators to buy shards, they can trade the shards to the person so that the winner of the auction doesnt have to dish out shards slowly over time as the person wishes for the donation pets.

I think if shards were trade currency like gold or creatures, it'd be more of a hurt than a help. What if someone donated like a hundred bucks or more and flooded the market with free-floating shards? Then no one would donate because the shards are out there as possible non-IRL-money currency.Bagheera wrote:Another thing you can do is make shards tradeable like gold and creatures are. that way if someone does for example an auction for shards to entice donators to buy shards, they can trade the shards to the person so that the winner of the auction doesnt have to dish out shards slowly over time as the person wishes for the donation pets.
It's like this: if you suddenly had to donate to get gold, would you? No, because millions of dollars worth of gold is already in the system, circulating.

Nope, can't be done. Since shards have real world value they can't be traded, legal issues and all.Bagheera wrote:Another thing you can do is make shards tradeable like gold and creatures are. that way if someone does for example an auction for shards to entice donators to buy shards, they can trade the shards to the person so that the winner of the auction doesnt have to dish out shards slowly over time as the person wishes for the donation pets.

Re: Operation Save MagiStream
Ok, ok. This one will fix three issues:
1. Fix Magistream being so poor.
2. Lower doni prices. No, really.
3. Isn't any more work for the artists.
Ready? Doni re-releases. Just the most popular ones, or the oldest ones. Even for just a few weeks. A crapload of users would donate waaaay more to get a some re-released donis. And the influx of more product into the market would bring those pesky doni prices that have been killing MS's economy down. Plus, the artists don't have to do anything new for the release!
