A bit late, but for those of you in Europe, remember that DST ended last weekend. If you haven't done so already, you should change your board preferences to reflect that.

We have another small change to the Merchant District rules. The following rule (which is more of a clarification and has been in effect for years already) has been added:
For any time zone that observes Daylight Saving Time, DST is considered to be in effect for the Merchant District as well. In particular, that is true for Eastern Standard Time (EST), Central Standard Time (CST), Mountain Standard Time (MST), Pacific Standard Time (PST), Western European Time (WET), Central European Time (CET) and Eastern European Time (EET). This is true even if you are living in an area that does not observe DST.
Also, The following part has been removed from the rules:
Likewise, linking to a tab is not enough; you'll have to link to creatures directly to prevent scamming.
From now on you are allowed to link to tabs in the Merchant District again. We think the inconvenience to users and the workload for mods is too high compared to the gain of this rule to keep it.
Note that you still may not have creatures you are selling in hidden tabs, since that prevents users from checking on dates and lineages, but you no longer need to link to every single creature in a tab. A link to the tab itself is now sufficient again.

Not a change, but a request about something that seems to be turning into a trend recently.

If you are using custom CSS, please do not remove all panels from your profile. There are several panels that contain links that the moderators need to do their work, and if you remove all panels, you are inhibiting that. If you remove everything and we need to check on some information that is accessible through your profile, I will have no choice but to remove your CSS completely. That's a bother for both you and me, so I'm pretty sure you'd rather avoid that.
What we do need is the User Statistics and the side panel that contains your avatar and username. You can change those panels as long as links in them are still accessible somewhere on your profile. Anything else, you're free to change or remove however you'd like.

Thank you!

I have made a small change to the way time is displayed on the forum that should be especially interesting to those of you who like to participate in auctions. If you put your date format to "Custom" (under "User Control Panel" -> "Board Preferences" -> "Edit Global Settings"), time will now also display seconds in addition to hours and minutes.
This is now also the default setting, so if you noticed your settings changing and want them back to what they were, you can also switch them to your preferred settings under the above mentioned tab.

To those in Europe, please remember that Daylight Saving Time ended last night. If you set your MS time to display DST, you should change that or your time will not be displayed correctly.

To all Americans, be aware that your Daylight Saving Time ended last night. If your MS time is set to include DST, you need to change that for your time to be displayed accurately.

The mass move has been expanded with two new options:

Male/female/ungendered allows you to separate your creatures by gender. You no longer need a bucket of water to get those pesky males away from the females, a few clicks and they'll be in separate tabs quick and easy.

Has parents/no parents will easily separate creatures you (or someone else) bred from your SB/QB/GB ones. That will be especially useful to the merchants and breeders among you, I'm sure.

There have been a few changes:

Stats page: the stats.php page now displays the information in the order of creature species as opposed to the quite random order previously.

Quest names: To better indicate which parts of quests belong to the same quest there are now quest-specific prefixes for each quest.

Creature page: A single creature's page now has buttons for freezing, breeding, naming, releasing and embedding. The creature page also shows the tab the creature is in. These additions are visible to the creature's owner.

The creature page also has a list of offspring for those creatures who have succesfully produced children. If no "Offspring" text and list is shown then the creature does not have kids. This information is visible for anyone viewing the creature.

If you encounter any problems please report them in the Report site errors here thread.

Since the subforums for past competitions were starting to clog the competition entries forum, I've moved them to their own forum in Magi Life, the Hall of Remembrance. You can look at them there whenever you like.

I also rearranged the forums in the Assembly Hall into an order that I like better. I know this will be somewhat irritating for a bit, but I'm sure you'll get used to it in no time.

I've just made a small change to the rules. Donation pets may now be given out in raffles and other games of chance, effective immediately. Have fun with that!
