Re: A Fan Sprite
I know it from Harry Potter! And I heard of the Black Dog even before then! Again the cards turn up, because I have that, too. You see it, it's supposed to mean something bad is going to happen to you, or frightens you to death. Very nice spriting, the red paw against the black egg provides good contrast.
Mining my Keep is encouraged! Have at it!

Yep, read my first post. I explain what the sprite is there.Royal wrote:By the way, isn't this a Black Dog?
Thanks zZHybridZz, Zovesta, and Iceclaw! I'm glad the reference wasn't lost. And yeah, I was aiming for the colors to bring each other out on the egg.

It makes me happy that people want them! Although...grr. The hatchling. He's being a pain. Anybody with experience, or people who think they have some good advice, don't be afraid to come forward. I won't be mad if you say it sucks; it's the truth, after all. I'm grateful to everyone who's commented so far!

Re: A Fan Sprite- Critics Requested
Thank you! I love how most people are saying "for your first attempt." I guess that still means I have a long way to go. Oh well, it's fun.
Maybe the Magistream artists will pick up the creature? You could request it... I think I did a while back, though it's probably gone since the server horrors. I'm sure they could make the Black Dog look 100x better. Until then, I get to monopolize him.wingstarfox wrote:I love the third set, for you're first attempt its done wonderfully ^^ I love it, wish I could have one o.o

This will be adult only, cause... Well, truth be told, not even I put too much attention to the hatchlings. =p They don't even take a quarter of the time I put into the adults.
1. This is just my own thing, but I try to avoid using flat black. I mean, I did use it on the phoenix... Maybe on the void too, I can't remember, but still. *Shrugs* Just my own little quirk.(This was towards your original. I noticed in the others posted earlier you did not have flat black.)
2. Lawl, you missed some pixels when you tranparentized the background. In the chest furs.
3. Even though it's hard to see, the paws do look a little twisted, or off. Hmm... Legs too, abit.
4. The way the shading is, or just in general, he looks... Extremely fluffy up close. I kinda mean like a poodle sort of way. (I didn't notice until I looked close-up.) If he was that fluffy, his legs would be poofier as well. =p
5. Doesn't look like you don't have too much of an outline in some spots.
But again, this is your first pixel art, do I do have to give you credit. X3 It's pretty awsome for a first time, believe me. =3

Aww, it's so cute~
Glad I could help.
I really like the head/front paws/torso, the only thing that really bugs me is the angle of the back legs. They don't look liek they have any hips, maybe try separating the far back leg from the closer one, also try making it look more straight-on.
And he looks fwuffy, I wuv him. xB

*is taking notes* I see. Thank you! The more people criticize, the better I'll get. And it's the Magistream artists themselves, I'm honored!Rijolt wrote:*Shrugs* Ask and you shall receive. 1. Yeah, I won't do flat black again since that's the main thing people have complained about.
2. Gah, you're right I did miss them.
3. Really? *squints* oh. maybe you are talking about his left (his left, my right) legs? Especially the back one. I didn't notice that before, you have keen eyes.
4. it's fluffy, huh ...I guess I can try to shave him or something? I am used to shadowing by pencil so I know there are defects. That's what practice is for...
5. That's easy enough to fix, I guess
Yes thank you!!!!! And yeah, I noticed that stuff about the back legs when Rijolt said something was off. Fluffy...lol sorry, but I'm going to try to get rid of that. I want a dog, not a sheep. =PNiwer wrote:Aww, it's so cute~
