Fuiuki's Pixels

Hello and welcome! I've never been much of an artist when it comes to drawing, although I did start to dabble in digital art some 3 years ago or so. Most of it didn't turn out great... not horrible, but not great either.
I finally found a medium I was comfortable with when I started trying out pixel art. I had previously tried and failed at it, but I finally managed to make something, which is this little guy:

This is an Eon Wolf from dnadopts.com. From the same site, I made some shadow drakes next up:

I kept getting better, from just starting simple. I've experimented a little in what I make, and I've gained a love for vivariums of different kinds.

Eventually I opened up an aquarium shop on chickensmoothie.com and it has let me grow in skill to quite an amazing degree! At least to me, who started off not really being able to draw anything.

From there I've tried a few art pieces in pixel style that aren't just fish or vivariums.

I may upload more art pieces as I grow and come up with more things.

Please do not use anything displayed here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! From anything between "can I commision you?" to "is there any more information on anything?", it's all welcome!

Oh hey! I think I adopted some fish from you on Chickensmoothie lol...
I love your art! You can really see how much you've improved from when you first started.
I will be back to adopt some fishies in the future :)
Haven't been on Magistream in several months. Any gifts of recent creatures would be greatly appreciated!

OH, your are is so cute! And very creative with the aquariums!

Keep up the good work too, I totally feel you being an armature pixel artist too I ain’t an artist by any means except randomly I put together something cool.
But my love for Game Design pushed me to get into pixeling which gets better with time, so whatever pushes you, here’s to it taking you far and wide and with lots of little 8-Bit buddies!

Thank you! Game development pushed me to get better as well, and I wish you the best on your learning journey as well! I'm sure we'll both be able to achieve amazing results one day, I for one won't stop making pixel art any time soon ^_^

Your vivariums and little pixel creatures are so beautiful! How long have you practiced pixel art? And which programs do you use to animate the little characters? :D I'm interested in learning to do pixel art as well, but I'm afraid I don't know where to start, haha :) Any tips? Anyway, good work on these!! If you have more pixel art somewhere, please show us more if you decide to post it.

Thank you so much! I use paint.net to draw, which is a downloadable program despite the name. It's simpler than most art programs but has all the tools usually needed for pixel art, which makes it perfect for me. As for animating, I just draw a frame, save, edit, and save as a new file ^_^'
I think I've been doing pixel art for about... maybe 4 years now? I wasn't really getting seriously into it until about 2 or so years ago I think, but I'm really glad that I started! My best advice for pixel art would probably be to start small. Everything doesn't have to look perfect, but do look at other people's art to see what they did different, such as shading, details, line art and colours. I wish you good luck in your pixel endeavors! ^_^
