Thought I should finally make one of these.

Hi, I'm Niv, and I occasionally do traditional art, mainly of birds and critters. I still have a lot, a lot, a lot to learn until I'll be capable of making the kind of art that I would like and I really should also draw more often.
I also sometimes take photos.

Constructive critique is OK, although currently I'm not really looking for it and am in one of those phases where I try to figure out things for myself. I also prefer in-depth conversations/comments over one/two word praise.

You may also ask me to comment/critique on your work, and I may add additional ramblings about art when I post a new piece. @_@

I don't take requests or commissions at the time.

Haahh, I hope you realize I've always liked your work, Niv. 'v' Your watercolours are so gorgeous and vibrant. They've got a unique feel to them, which is pretty hard to achieve.

I've been in a prolonged art rut lately, due to, at first, unpleasant real-life distractions and lately pleasant ones. But I'm trying to pick up the pencil more often now. @__@
Therefore, while I have sketched Niv from time to time, there isn't anything very fleshed-out at the time, sorries.

Anyway, here's a bigger version of the piece in my signature that I posted on dA some days ago. It's a marvelous spatuletail hummingbird (though I had to trim the tail feathers to make 'em fit) in a similar style to another bird piece I did in 2011 (?) and that used to be in my signature before this one. :u
I'm fine with the colour scheme, but the colouring itself feels really... rusty.
The wing probably looks weird, but in the reference photo you could understand that there was some foreshortening and, tbh, angles sometimes make hummer wings look really weird/small.

The bird looks amazing, Niv!
